Don't get me wrong, I REALLY want to see him punch a dragon in the heart or at the very least talk about it, but it's kind of an extreme thing, even compared to resurrection.
Realistic? Jessica Jones has super strength. Kilgrave had mind control. Luke Cage deflects bullets and has super strength. They shot him with bullets that drilled into his flesh and then kept on drilling. Daredevil fought a man who came back from the dead more than once. And then had someone else get resurrected at the end of the second season.
are people really comparing iron fist and arrow because they both have the billionaire family background and their parents die. That is every super hero who doesnt have biological abilities, take ironman, batman, green arrow, ironfist, doctor doom etc etc. Did people compare ironman 1 to batman begins i dont think so, so please stop comparing marvel and DC things

You do realize that half the artists and writers worked for both companies right? I mean Hulk and Grundy were the same in the beginning, Comedian from Watchmen is a darker Cap, Deadpool and Death Stroke, Namor and Aquaman, Quicksilver and Flash, this guy called Hawkeye and Green Arrow... the companies piggy backed, copied, were inspired by the works around them... JFC.

pwners4u this guy gets it. These shows are based on American comics that started in the 30's, 40's and 50's. A time (when, unfortunately) most whites marginalized and discriminated against most other races. Of course all the super heroes where white. I also imagine that coming out of the Great Depression had a good deal to do with most of the heroes also being rich guys who experienced tragedy (parental death being one of the most popular tropes) and decided to become vigilantes. Gave the kids something to aspire to. May have also lead, in part, to the rampant corporate-capitalist-consumerist greed that infects the country now, but that is a rant for a different day. Fanbois gonna be but hurt, don't feed the trolls.

He should get a dark green suit similar to what DD has, people on the internet worry way TOO much about what will or won't "translate" onscreen. I'm not excited to see dudes in t-shirts and jeans. May as well go all the way with it as the guy who is also not bulletproof(like DD) should probably get a suit too.

Hell yes. It'll be significantly better than the CW shows crossovers for sure.
I like to think that in the Netflix Marvelverse, Luke Cage > Daredevil (because he can't hurt him), Daredevil > Iron Fist (because his senses let him avoid the harder blows), and Iron Fist > Luke Cage (because of the titular punch). Like a Rock-Paper-Scissors thing.
Iron Fist has more powers than just that among the NETFLIX Defenders, if they at least make him mostly similar to the comics, Iron Fist is the strongest.
We haven't seen any speed feats from Netflix Danny yet. If he's anywhere near his comic counterpart, then he can dodge and catch bullets and can likely dodge DD's attacks while still having stronger attacks.
Why is everyone hating on Arrow? JUST STFU! Arrow and the spin off shows surrounding it, have created a universe all on it's own. Which is a pretty incredible feat. As for this show, it's nothing like Arrow and if you really wanna compare, you could say they're both like Batman. Orphaned superhero inherits multimillion dollar company and knows karate. I for one and so pumped for this show and will also continue to support Arrow and Flash. (Especially Flash because he's the coolest, most powerful and most vulnerable superhero ever created.)
Browning Bros Arrow is bad in S3/4 and S5 has had it's ups and downs. Also, you are leaving out a large amount of similarities between GA and IF.
INSERT USERNAME no, they had average second halves. The first half of both seasons were awesome. And who cares if there are similarities between the Iron Fist or Arrow? Marvel has copied many DC characters and made them their own. It's hard to be absolutely original when speaking about comic book characters.

I'm curious why Iron Fist is getting so much criticism for the portrayal of this character, when really he isn't even that widely known. First everyone was pissed that he wasn't Asian (even though Danny Rand isn't asian...) now people are going off saying that he isn't buff enough, or that he's a copy of Arrow or blah blah blah.
Iron Fist is my favorite superhero and I am thrilled he's getting an adaptation like this. I'm nervous for the show - what might they so that I don't agree with or like? But I'd rather save all the judgemental crap until AFTER I SEE THE SHOW. they've said nothing about the plot so far except for the preface. And only people familiar with Danny Rand have any idea what his character is like. This show has the potential to be unique and amazing, just like the he other 3 defender series before it.

I wonder how much CGI they can actually use on this and The Defenders because the other series didn't need much special effects because none of them except Danny have hands that light up. Ghost Rider was essentially removed halfway through the fourth AOS series because they couldn't afford the cost of effects off their whole budget as it has pretty low audience viewings so I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Shao Lao

Fuck, people. Read a book or at least a comic. IRON FIST IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE RIPPED. You do not need muscle to kick ass! Unlike daredevil, who uses a ninjutsu-boxing mixed fighting style that require muscle as well as agility, iron fists style is based on precision and balance. He does not need a lot of pressure to knock people off balance and strike critical blows. This guy, aside from the hair do which is a pretty small detail, is completely accurate to how Danny looked in the comics and is completely plausible as a meditative, Buddhist, king fu expert holding the power of an ancient mystical dragons awesome fist. There you go! Can we all wait until it comes out to criticize it now?

For people saying he doesn't look that ripped, that's because he got this role just after he left GoT, so he didn't have time that actors normally get to get ripped for a superhero role unlike charlie cox had more time then he did. Finn jones even said he had 2 - 3 months of training of martial arts and weight training.

I think IF will be better. I like the 15 years gone vs. the 4 years gone. Arrow just didn't capture the whole 'change' thing. Everything was pretty much the same, and Oliver didn't have to relearn adequate or anything. But Danny was 4-6 when he crashed. You can actualy see hime walking around barefooted in New York. I think it will be much more of a cool (and comedic) change.

It is going to be interesting seeing the actor who played Loras Tyrell play Iron Fist. I just started to watch Game of Thrones 3 weeks ago and I am doing about a season a week. So him as Loras will be fresh in my mind. I would have written the arrow intro to better fit the plot of the first season, but it hasn't come out yet so I cant do that.

Danny Rand was never written as traditional or stereotypical kung fu/martial artist archetype. He plays down his abilities and intelligence until it's time kick some ass. He's not a ripped bro type guy, he puts off a nonchalant vibe even in confrontation to have a little fun with his foes. He's like that friend that does everything well but only when you force him to.
This... actually looks pretty interesting now. Like Arrow, only with less indiscriminate murder. I'll have to give it a shot.
This being the last standalone before the Defenders it has a lot to live up to.... that being said I have no doubt that this will be amazing, I cant wait

They have been teasing Iron Fist since the first season of Daredevil. Really Pumped! (:
Daredevil, Punisher, JJ all started good from the get-go. Cage because of more reoccurring characters and a bigger cast took longer for everyone to get a feel for him. He ended very strong(pun intended).
So I expect Iron Fist to be somewhere in between. If it's a larger cast he'll take longer for fans to appreciate but if it's a small cast like Daredevil Season 1 then it'll happen fast.
