Dunno if it still is the most recommended soap for cleaning off oily birds and animals after an oil spill, but Dawn used to be.
Good video Dustin! Ultrasonic cleaners have gotten less expensive, I have one that works great. Dawn & Lemi Shine works great on cleaning brass. Ballistol is my go to for a cleaner & lube.
I like the idea of a ultrasonic cleaner.
Awesome, maintenance tips! In the less-than-lethal world, we use silicon spray and oil to clean and maintain our weapons. May I suggest 2 channels? Rune Rebel and Air Gun Alley Miami

Great video. But have a question on the ultrasonic cleaning. In an older video you did, you used simple Green but warned not to use on brass as it discoloration. The simple green works great on BP. Now i see your using Dawn soap. Does it clean as well on BP as simple green does? As i have 2 brass framed BP pistols. Thank you.
The Dawn works equally well on BP. I still don’t put the brass parts in, mainly just because they just wipe down easily without the ultrasonic.
@@GunsOfTheWest Thank you. In my collection i have 2 brass framed revolvers. Onebis a Remington 1858 so that still won't fix in my ultrasonic. Again thank you for your help.

I have a pietta new model army using no 11 caps because I can’t find no 10 caps and I can’t keep caps on the cylinders any advice? Ps I love your videos keep up the good work
First…DO NOT PINCH them to make them tighter. It elongates them and leaves a small gap around the nipple. This has been documented as a source for chain fires. Second, simply order nipples that fit #11 caps. Slix Shot nipples from Track of the Wolf or Dixie Gun Works cost about $32 for a set.

Dustin. Do you know if either the Ruger Wrangler or Heritage Grips would match up to a smal frame Uberti like the 1849 or 1862 pockets please? Im sure there will be redrilling for holes and fitting. Im wondering how well the small frame other revolvers might fit up for a project i have with an 1862 Police. Thank You!
I’ve heard that the Heritage Rough Rider frame will fit on the trigger guard/grip frame of the Uberti 1849, but I haven’t actually tried it.
@@GunsOfTheWest Really? Ill start down that rabbithole i guess... Id like to put a full sized Birdshead on 1862 Police. The slim flattop style like Uberti uses on their "Lightning" .38. Currently im just thinking about shaping an entire new one from Steel with smaller mounting holes. The Backstrap i mean and then meet it to the 1862 oem trigger guard. Thank You!
It would really be nice to know how does the Uberti .38 Lightning frame itself compare to a Pocket model. I tried to ask someone about the size of the P Jr frames and if the Backstrap/ trigger guard were smaller/ similar. I got the impression it was the same full sized mounting on smaller frame. But i dont know forsure.
