  • Consider going to TSAR.website to get more from Jacob's sermons. There, I give daily thoughts, and this week they come from exploring Jacob's sermon more in depth. You can also access masterclasses, workshop, lectures, and all sorts of other material. Go to TSAR.website to access all this material.
In this episode Jan Martin and Kerry set the background for understanding Jacob's sermon. They also discuss the temple setting and how it impacts our understanding. They also explore how the crux of the teachings are about our relationship with God and our relationships in general. How do you relate to possessions? How to you relate to others, especially family members and members of the opposite sex? How do these things affect your relationship with God? Are you letting possessions or other things prevail more in your life than God? They also explore different ways we can share of our "substance" with others and how we can bless others in many ways. They talk about how stratification of society and not seeing people equally is part of the concubine issue Jacob speaks of. They also delve into how Jacob's teachings can help us understand how to deal with trials and have them bring us closer to God rather than push us away from Him. They also speak of the need to be reconciled to God and receive of His counsel and submit to His will.
We are grateful for our sponsor, Lisa Spice, and for our producer, BJ Muhlestein, and for Rich Nicholls, who composed and plays the music for the podcast.

Thank you so much for your insights, especially as I am one who lived in fear as a child. I feel renewed hope and am glad to be refocused on the power of Gods compassion in my life. ❤️‍🩹

Thank you for having Jan Martin as a guest - her thoughts on relationship in all the aspects of Jacob 1-4 were fantastic. As one who has experienced betrayal trauma in my 33-year marriage, and a pierced, dying heart, the sobbings of my children, I really appreciate her thoughts about the relationship with trauma and how God can consecrate it for our good.

As someone that is trying to deal with these issues I am so grateful for the insight you and Sister Martin talked about this week. And that Jacob taught from the Lord. I pray that as we continue forward we can all come together that the Lord gives answers and helps us through all the heartaches and trials we go through. It may not be as soon as we would like but I testify that if we will pray and hold tight to the scriptures we will receive the spirit and find answers. Thank you for helping me continue in my discovery of my relationship with my God.

Thank you for this post. My heart breaks again and again as I hear about what people have gone through. There is far, far, far too much heartache and sorrow and suffering and pain from the wrong actions of others. I literally thank God for the power of His Son to heal and help and make things right. With you, I pray for the healing to happen soon, and testify that it will come at some point.

How insightful! I enjoyed this so much. Jacob just touches me, his tender heart, and then the strength he demonstrates in strongly rebuking some pretty dreadful things that are showing up.
I'm so looking forward to the rest that will come when evil is bound!!
    Thank you both!

Love this and love the covenant relationship we are offered by the Lord.
I was reading John 15 today and could hear words from your new book as I read of Christ's unity with the Father and His invitation to us to be united with Him. "I Am the Vine" "He that abideth in me..." "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you " because we would only "will" or desire what He wills/desires.
You are really helping us understand the fundamental purpose of the covenant with Christ.. unity in purpose and, eventually, unity in the presence of the Father through Jesus 🙌

Won't that day of unity be so wonderful! I think we all long for it, and I hope we are all approaching it, through Christ! Bless you and Happy Easter!

My parents had two daughters that had abusive husbands. My sister became inactive and blamed God for the abuse and is still with him. I on the other hand always remained faithful to God and got His help and peace. I eventually left him and am now trying to be faithful and strong and provide for myself. I'm on a much better spiritual plane.
My sister is now trying to come back and it is hard but she is working on it and having all of our support.

I am so sorry to hear of this pain for you and for your sister. It breaks my heart to see these kinds of relationships. It just shouldn't happen. It just shouldn't. But I am glad for people like Jacob who will call it out, and glad that Christ can heal. Blessings to you and your sister!

I enjoyed this week's offering, as I have the previous. Much to consider and improve. I was mulling on all you said yesterday when I realized that the rebuke came when God told his prophet that He had heard the cries of His fair daughters -- and I realized the men in their society had not heard them. Had the men listened to their pleas for dignity and freedom (rather than assume it was right because it had been done before) so much trauma could have been avoided. I think the onus on the victim to always behave better, and come unto Christ -- especially when the perpetrator, or potential rescuer, is in good standing with their religion -- is misplaced and calls for more grace.

I very much agree that the onus is on the perpetrator to listen, repent, and change. Yet we want victims to be able to partake of the healing Christ offers as well. I think you are very right, the men in that group should have been able to tell they were wounding souls and not have needed such a call to repentance. I am glad Jacob issued the call, but wish he hadn't needed to (I think he wished for that too).

Thank you for another wonderful discussion about the scriptures, now about Jacob. Jacob is so in tune with the Spirit. He acknowledges pain and suffering and brings us hope and healing through our Savior Jesus Christ's Atonement. I love the many insights and discussions that guided me to more thinking and learning. Thank you so much!

I keep reflecting on how small and tight-knit the group was under Jacob's ministry - tight-knit, or should have been. Setting up disparate ranks of wealth and especially of mating opportunities (and in such a small group that would have meant sexual predation and grooming) threatened to corrupt the new branch at the root. Jan's thoughts on what it would have done to the society are worth following. Think of how violent the society would have gotten with so many single men locked out of marriage by the elites.
Reflect too on the power of the women of that society, who by their prayers called down this revelation.

    • @TheScripturesAreReal
      @TheScripturesAreReal  Месяц назад

This is worth reflecting on. I don't know that we know enough about their circumstances and society to really know what was happening, but trying to think it through is important. I am convinced that you are right that the prayers of the victims called down help from the prophet.
