Car manufacturers have been adding gimmicks just like smartphone manufacturers. The only technology feature I find useful is the blind spot monitor. The bluetooth feature is a hazard on wheels.

Yeap blind spot monitors are helpful. I think backup cameras and tpms are pretty useful. IDK how I would backup my giant work van without a backup camera lol

My 2019 CRV has the phantom braking issue. Both wIth cruise control on and without. Even false lane departures near highway exits. Its livable, but lame!

Interesting…. So do the brakes come on and slow the vehicle down significantly… or just a couple brief annoying taps ?

@@MJ100k it's usually brief. completely overrides the cruise control if you are getting close to someones rear. Will drop me from like 75 to 68 or whatever speed the car in front is going. Or when I'm approaching a vehicle to pass, It will think I'm too close and auto brake temporarily. It also braked when I was crossing the center lines to pass a vehicle in the country. Wish I could turn it off. Too many sensors and electronic control. Same thing with the lane departure. If it loses the white line on the side of the road it freaks out for a second & tries to correct the steering.
