Nile has gone downhill without him. One of my favourite DM musicians. Also one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met!

Absolutely agree just compare the latest Nile album with the lastest Narcotic Wasteland álbum, Nile lost all of its riff artillery and also one of the most descructive vocals on DM the moment Dallas left.

@@adejal Dallas is not just a great riff writer he's also a great song arranger, Nile used to have a technical element but also a hooky element that would draw you in, that has gone now!

Cool interview. I think it was in 2005 (pretty sure Annihilation songs were played and that one remains my favourite) when I first saw Nile. Was 14 or 15. It was a cool gig generally (I think with Behemoth, Belphegor and Hate) but I'll probably always remember it primarily for briefly going on to Nile's tour bus in search of booze only to find a load of orange juice.

There's an awesome live clip of Nile from that era where Dallas introduces "Lashed To The Slave Stick" - pure magic.

@@IntoTheNecrosphere That track and 'Sacrifice Unto Sebek' are definite lessons into writing 'catchy' death metal without any of the sort of compromise that too many bands lean toward.
I also remember that album as being from around the end of meaningful 'music TV', at least for rock and metal. My view on that is probably a bit eh as I'd been getting everything from shops or the internet for a few years prior but my sister stuck on music channels a lot and it didn't seem unusual to hear bands like Nile in the middle of the day.
