Elias your technique is flawless... excellent patience and deft touch to drag up that goliath. i learn so much watching you and these everglades videos are really great. Thanks for sharing. stay safe.
Mirrodine XL up under the mangrove edges with current and shade. Speed of twitches and length of pause base off water temp. Should easily be a dozen or more snook in a half day with at least one if not more over slot using this recommendation. Also break out the topwater, my friend got a lot in choko this weekend even with this cold front biggest was 38
Would you launch from The Hole on the roadside? And if so, head NE towards the mouth of the river? Trying to figure out if I should be going towards the ocean. My kayak battery has a 7 mile range
Elias congrat's on 100K subs, you certainly earned them. Seeing the shape of your leader [1:15] when you brought up that grouper from the mangroves made me realize how harsh the conditions can be. The rocks, barnacle covered bridges and old pilings up north have nothing on them.
Damn, those grouper are puting a hurting on you! Supposed to be the other way around! Reminicent of a few canyon trips I've had over the years where I say, "yup, enough tuna action for me!," only to drop another jig down and get worked for 20-25 minutes, begging for someone else to grab the rod. Nice trip you had down there. Safe travels.
"Fishing with Goliath". Cool to see them, but I really enjoy the diversity of what you usually catch. When the world allows, we need another vid with Mario!
Good luck! I'm originally from Gibson island Maryland now living in little river south carolina. Perch bite and spring striper should be biting now, as well as the chain pickerel!
Great strike on the soft plastics....Are u using scent on the plastics? You should do a video on how to use soft plastic man...I am new to soft plastic jigging
At some point they're going to have to open a limited season on goliaths, maybe have a 25-50lb slot limit or something. There are large sections I fish in Florida, especially on the shallow reefs, that they're cleaning out.
about 40 years ago they were everywhere and legal to harvest. I speared a bunch of them in those mangrove channels in the lower keys. Lots of fun. the 20 to 30 pounders were the best to put on the table.
One time my grandpa caught two off a single pinfish in the mangroves back in the day. I caught a 14ish inch black grouper once and theyre so awesome. Cant wait to catch a jewwie.
I used to catch juvenile Goliath Grouper all the time in mosquito lagoon, they’re a ton of fun. I live in Germany now so those days are gone, chasing giant Perch, Pike, and Zander now
@@suedelangston8289 no man, it’s been a while since I have been out three but if you follow the small channel out where the boat launch is, it opens up to more if a bay. We used to catch them under the mangroves on live shrimp or spoons
@@suedelangston8289 not sure brother, it’s been like 15 years since I’ve been out there. But, a lot of them were actually tagged and if you wrote down the tag number and submitted it to FWC (I think) they would send you a cool FWC grouper shirt. I was like 15-16 last time I went out there, I’m 33 now so I’m sure some things have changed since then
@@TheFishingExpat honestly mate our fishery had collapsed. It's a shell of its former self. Alge blooms killed 99% of the seagrass and the water is usually poop brown.
Given the number of Grouper, there might not be any Trout or Redfish left down there. The small Grouper might be doing inshore what the larger ones have done to some reefs: eat them clean.
That big dead tree was definitely a snook tree. Might needs pinfish or pilchards if it is pressured. Smaller baits so the goliaths aren't that interested.
They may be numerous in this inshore/mangrove areas which are goliath grouper nursery grounds, but they're not at reproductive maturity yet. GG grow the largest of the grouper species (there are a bunch of different ones), but they grow slowly. If you start catching and keeping them before they're old enough to reproduce the fishery will die out quickly (again). Several decades ago they were just as abundant in these areas but catching and keeping them at this size is part of what led to their endangered status. This is a great sign and here's hoping that a fishery with perhaps a slot size limit is not far away!
Man it's a shame your seat broke, kind sad for that kinda money youd think kayak manufacturers would use metal frames and mounts. But hobie should warranty it. Excellent video as always love seeing those juvenile goliaths
Those are "the fun sizers". Once they get big enough they grab your catch and head straight to a breakoff point. They have again become the "taxmen in the marbled brown suit".
Thanks for the new vid! My wife and I watched every CATCH AND COOK so far. Please give us one soon!!! Tight lines!
One of your best series. I watch them all too. Sorry to see you go home.

Elias, Show us the technique on jigging up Grooper. Awosome video. Keep them coming. Prayers sent for Meg,Elias. God bless
That Night Ranger rod!!! Heck of a rod there Elias. Such a blast watching you target those groupers.
Who would have thought that one of the best fishing youtubers would be a kayak fisherman! Keep up the good work
Man grouper jigging looks like so much. If I ever get a chance to try this I absolutely want to. Great video!
Nice catch!! And I see your buddy with the shearwater. My son and I have sea ghost 130s.

Those jigging world rods are something man. Great video as always
Stunning the abundance of groupers every single drop.
Thank you for allowing me to experience a little piece of the everglades!

I am taking my yak out this weekend for the first time. Patuxent river in Maryland to start. going to head down to the Chesapeake at Solomons soon.

The pullin them Goliath’s do damn they had your rod bent, awesome vid...🤙🏼🤙🏼
Love that Wallop of the line “freight train “. Oh yes. Let’s you know u have something good on!! Keep up the good work.
Mane that grouper have to be one of the coolest looking fish to see! Nice job!
Elias V the Grouper Whisperer
That was a nice sized Grouper
another bad ass video bro
Great strike on the soft plastics....Are u using scent on the plastics?
You should do a video on how to use soft plastic man...I am new to soft plastic jigging
Elias V shads killing the groupers too
Gnarly fight on that grouper man. Nice
Thanks...Brazil
Great rod bending action on light tackle. Putting them lite inshore rods and reels to the test. Take care. We down in Cali.
I wish I could pick up on new areas so quickly. Great job!
These videos are nuts !
"I'm gonna get him, I'm gonna get him...no I'm not." You got him!
Realizing I kept holding my breath while YOU were catching that big Goliath. haha!

Every local I spoke to down this way explained to me they have done a number on most other species.
@@EliasVFishing they really hammer the baby snook and snapper that give inshore fishing it's desired variety.

yeah goliath tacos really hit the spot
That spinfisher putting in WORK!

How could he catch two off one circle
Hooked pin fish
Dude, you probably cracked your seat from fighting that big grouper!!
Not going to find one of those on the Yaupon Reef are you. Nice day on the water. Florida fishing is magical.
Haha! A good day on NC nearshore reefs is still up there in the top 5!
They should have a slot on them! One a day they are so abundant and can be anoying at times but wow what a fun fight
haha, I had a Meh, day on Monday. Wind was bothersome. man you are tearing those grouper up.
How much punishment can you take?😂😂😂 I know that was awesome but the sounds coming out during the fight were borderline agony🤣. Thanks Elias

PIG Grouper! Fun to watch
What a group of fish you caught.
Those Goliaths are pure muscle!!
I'm done gonna go chase snooks.. that is so funny!
Groupers rock!
That was a huge grouper. Nice catch.
What a stud!!!!
I see you switched over from no longer using barrel swivels for your leader. What knot your using for fluro to braid? Double uni? Epic vid

I enjoy all of your content very much. I'm now a Patreon member
Blue crab scent on a swim jig?
I've never heard you sound so nervous fighting a fish haha. Well done!
How does a grouper fight compare to tautog? I've heard that tog might fight a little harder for their size but I'm wondering how true that is
I've seen Goliaths bigger than me in the Glades and I'm 5'11". That one was impressive.
Epic Stuff!
What pound test line do you use for large grouper?
@EliasV ever thought about doing Merch.
I make lures - you check the shads I used to catch this grouper?
Any odds you can say where you launched from?
Time to update the packaging on your extreme shads...
this has been your best trips in a long time. Chance of you moving there?
What a hit that was!
I like that rod. What model is it?
Hello Friend very good catch of goliath congratulations👍👍🤝🤝🙏🙏🎣🎣🎣
When are you coming back to the Port City? Enjoyed watching you catch all those Grouper.
You typically prefer to tie your leader to a barrel swivel versus a line to line knot?
thoroughly enjoyed the whole series. Awesome catches! What model lowrance are you using?

Me and a buddy of mine plan on coming down the 1st week of April will be my first time fishing the glades any tips or things we need to know?
Multiple GPS systems are a must if you are going to do mileage. DO NOT rely on a cell phone
Innit time to head north? Spring's crackin on.
Awesome bro 👍🎣🎣👍
nice catch idol!
Sick grouper! how many species is that for you on your shads?
Like 105 or something
Great video! How long will you be in the keys?
Jewfish. I got one about the size of that last big one at ft. Pierce inlet one night a few years ago. Yeah I kept it and man are they good.
Nice video as usual
How are we only at a 100k subs elias is always throwing heaters out every video
Because he doesn't do immature douchie bullshit like the other fishing channels. Apparently that crap gets more attention.
Does anyone use those new hook removers that they’re advertising? Supposed to safely remove hooks that are swallowed. Do they work? Thanks
From your experience do you have recommendations on quality kayak for big folks. Around 300 lbs
Those things are supposed to be endangered. There needs to be a season on them now. Cool video brother

what is this for a boat? where can i buy something like that ?

Elias, we have faith in you. We know you’re going to land the fish.
Hmmm don't can't, try. Do!.. Young Elias as Yoda would say.
Do you I live in NY anymore or no? I’m from Long Island and I’m starting to get into saltwater fishing.
Nope

Comes from the city. Impressive.
FISHERMAN.
PERIOD.
ZZZ.
grouper ate all the snook
Nice Goliath slay fest! Did you mean Fernandina Beach?
Crazy to see grouper in shallower water like that
You're catching so many of those grouper I'm starting to wonder why they're considered "vulnerable".
IKR it's ridiculous they're the most common fish around now in places.

You could take that audio of the big big fish catch and put it over any fish catch for me
Don’t think I ever seen you struggle like that with a fish 😂
Where is this?
Only good thing about Hernando Beach is plenty of good places to eat, try Zig Zag Scallop[
