- Fishing in the everglades of Florida can be ridiculously to catch fish, I caught a ton of Peacock bass and Oscars on jerkbaits. This was from my trip last winter, and I lost a some of the front camera footage.

Thirty years ago that area probably had a lot of largemouth but they've probably been pushed out of the way by nonnative species.
Yeah, it is a shame. Fish like Peacock bass are so easy to catch that to me it just loses its novelty.
Still a lot of largemouth. We were having to catch a shit ton of them to finally find a peacock.
Facts but its still alot you just have to know where to go down there i do 🎣
Back in September a buddy and I fished the everglades with a guide. Caught 6 species of fish. Only saw a couple of Gators in the distance. Ton of fun.
I love these FL videos. I think you fishing out of a kayak with gators all around adds excitement.
My brother in law and I were just down there a couple of months ago. We caught regular bass and peacock bass in the area you're in. And then we went back towards Naples on back roads and caught Oscar and Mayans.
I love your Florida fishing videos. Fishing in Florida is on my bucket list. Well I say that, I could go do it I just gotta be willing to take off work long enough to do it.
Great winter revisit for this Everglades trip. Buddy you wore them out and I bet they gave as good as they got. I can imagine that was really fun. Blessings brother John
FISHING IN FLORIDA IS LIKE TAKING CANDY FROM A BABY!!!!!! I miss home every time I see one of these videos. God Bless and Go Kats!!!!!
I've fished there a couples of times. The jerkbait is king but Oscars will bite absolutely anything. The first time, we caught so many Oscars it was ridiculous. We caught largemouth (and there are plenty) by casting a 10" worm way up into the grass and working it past the Oscars until a bass grabbed it. The second trip was peacock after peacock with plenty of largemouth mixed in. No telling why one trip was almost all Oscars and the next was all Peacocks. We caught plenty of largemouth on both trips including an 8 pounder on trip #2. We saw a jillion and I mean a jillion alligators --and I would not fish there out of a kayak. Some of those gators were bigger than that yak!
I'm surprised you didn't catch any Mayan cichlids (atomic sunfish). There all over here in SW Florida. The peacocks are just starting to move into our area. Mayans, for their size, are strong fighters.
Awesome fishing, would love to get into the peacock bass for myself.
I like the grippers you are using. I have not seen you use them. Do they have scales attached? Nice to see a change of scenery to south Florida. I grew up in Fort Myers.
Great video. One of these days I'll make a trip to fish for peacocks and Cichlids!
Enjoyed that piece of Florida. Beautiful spot
My buddy Tom d. Moore and I used to take off early from work(we we're drywall sub's, so we could take of when we wanted)any-who, we would go to lox road , take it 7miles west till you came upon a fish camp called loxohatchi wild life refuge ! Get a working man special, 12ft jonboat with a 15 horse motor for 17 bucks ! 3oclock till dark! And it was non-stop action! Same with Everglades holiday park, and sawgrass fish camp! 10 pounders all day long! Broke down at holiday park and the coast guard had to find us! Raining so hard the boat wouldn't drain! Gators eyeing us like DINNER! Shorts on no shirt, flip flops! Every cast , a nice fish ! We would have to put our poles down to burn one,
Peacocks peacocks everywhere. What a population you must be in there. Nice video John. They look like a lot of fun to catch
It looks like awesome. To get to go fishing while you are there. God bless you and your whole family....🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊😀
Man…… ive been watching/ following this channel forever it feels first video was way back wen all you did was pan fish with bobby garlen plastics 🔥🔥🔥 or when you caught your pb large mouth on a bait caster on your first time hell yeah brother
Love your everglades missions
Looks like u were off of I75? I saw some guys having good luck off of 41 this fall when we went down
Just remember keep your pistol we have a lot of alligators down there some way bigger than that canoe if people do it but not too much canoeing down there it can be dangerous you got to be on that boat but nice video that's my hometown area
Man, John... I hope you carry while out there on the kayak since you are only several inches above the water and gators can certainly move in on you easily enough!! Certainly enjoy watching you bring all those fish in though!! :-)
Went a few weeks ago….not a bad day with the peas….a few lmb too.
Next time you get a chance at those Oscar's plan on a catch and cook they taste great 👍
Oh yeah we got millions of fish down there I bet you see the difference in that Creek Fishing no comparison our Creek😅but canals Fish or Monsters LOL thousands of spots to fish down there the best
Wowwwww!!! Now I gotta go back with my yak!!!! Dodgin 🐊!!!
As a Floridan, I would love to see you target our Snakeheads
that is one i want to do but havent had a chance yet
@@CreekFishingAdventures I'll take you whenever man!!
LOVE the intro music 🎶
I love catching oscar’s because they fight like ten pounders. What road was that bridge. I fish along Tamiami trail highway and fish along the side.
tamiami hwy
I am watching from Elmira NY they have Tarpen down there as well as alligator gar
The tamiami trail I was just there a few weeks ago
Tamiami Trail aka Alligator Alley .
Try fishing in north Florida on sante fe river before you go back it’s been pretty good.
Wearing them out looks fun
im going in a few weeks, whats your set up? ultralight ? Ive got jerk baits and cranks to bring.
i would go with a medium rod
Great video!
I'll be in Florida next month to film RUclips videos for my channel buddy!!!! Staying at Kings Bay Lodge for 5 days!!!! Wooooooo weeeeeeeeeee
Excited to watch that series on your channel!
@@The_Next_Cast me too ✋ 😄 I can't wait for next month to get here so I can go down there!!!!
I used to have an Oscar that to size in an aquarium
I’m a subscriber. I’ve been enjoying your content and would like to know what kind of personal floatation device you are using. What brand please ? If anybody knows please comment. I’d like to have one for my own kayaking adventures.
old town life jacket
My dream is to fish the Ever Gades I love the movie going fishing really like the song Willie Nelson sang in that movie iam not a country music fan but Ido like that song !!!!!!!
Next time you're down here let's go after snakeheads in the kayak!!
Is the kayak safe in gator infested water??
Great question, I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the video!
in my head I was saying....no way am I getting in that water on a kayak with gators around.
surprised you didnt catch any snakeheads
That’s what I was thinking…
Wonder how they would taste...what kind of limit is there on them..
No limit on Oscars as they are exotics.
What happened to the video you posted yesterday?
Aren't you supposed to terminate introduced species or has Florida kind of given up?
i think maybe so, but theres millions of them
@@CreekFishingAdventures And in some cases they probably don't want gators to start associating free fish with anglers, I imagine.
Fishing is easy, but they have assgators...if not careful, they'll bite your butt. Water's black, too so you can't see them.
Your going to have to take a fish tank so you can keep one of those pretty oscars
i know, it would be awesome to feed that thing minnows in a tank
Gave you a thumbs up but please do a ccc video.
What jerkbait were you using.
i had 2 or 3, they were different kinds
What road is that?
i think it was a shimano slx
Watch out for those gators they love eating kayakers 🐊
Oscars and Peacocks? Your not in Kansas anymore.
thats for sure
I see a lot of comments in your video and none of them have you replied to. SMH....
People should start eating those non-native fish.
a lot of people do
Cool video
#545👍🏻🛶🎣👀
Btw, you know an adult alligator can jump out of the water up to 6' right? Never get comfortable in gator water. Specially in a kayak.
New video!
Great video!
