    Thanks for the hammer curl fix with leaning, Joe. I was avoiding hammer curls lately because they were making my elbow sore. Even trying this with an unweighted flex while I watched this, keeping upper arm vertical, feels much better. Big 👍

    Love the seated cable curl. I've been doing this with dumbbells on an incline bench and always ended up with a ton of forearm and wrist pain. The cable version is entirely pain free and the pump is through the roof! I'm not exactly sure as to the mechanics of it but I'm really loving it. I think it's to do with dumbbells being all wobbly when they're on the heavy side and you're using a lot of forearm and wrist strength to stabilize the movement, whereas cables enforce stability and proper line of resistance on the bicep throughout the range of motion without engaging other muscles.

    Due to the natural bend in the elbow (called the carrying angle) the forearm will always be at an angle to The humerus and not parallel. So, I’m not sure this would make much of a difference

    Hi sir I have 2 main questions always confusing me .
    1. How many time should I work my biceps per week?
    2. How many workouts should I train for biceps day. Are 3 enough or should I go for 4 workouts

    • @Cynsham
      @Cynsham 6 лет назад +1

      mohamed rashed Bro splits that have you training each body part 1 time a week aren’t very effective for the most part. I would recommend training each body part/ muscle group 2 times a week, with less volume in each workout to prevent burning out or getting too sore. To answer your second question, I personally only do about 3 different exercises on biceps, with about 4 sets on each exercise. Hope this helps you

    @moutaindog1, hi John do you generally do more than two exercises for arm day? Is 4x12 set dumbell curls + another exercise enough or do I need to do like 5 different exercises a session?! Thanks

    Hey john, when I do hammer curls, does tucking your arms back (like you would during incline bench bicep curls) and curling help? It’s weird that my arms tend to want to not be vertical, but tucked back when I try hammer curls. I have to consciously move them forward to make them look like how your hammer curls do. Sorry if this seems strange. Not sure if I should tuck them back or not. Thanks

    • @mountaindog1
      @mountaindog1  4 года назад +1

      that is totally fine

    • @MrGflan
      @MrGflan 4 года назад

      mountaindog1 I’m just happy that you understand my rambling LOL. I just seem not to feel the burn as much with hammers though also. Do you notice that wide grip curls really burn more? Maybe it’s just the biceps that build more lactic acid than the brachialis? It’s still difficult but a different feeling. Strange.

  • @heyphilphil
    @heyphilphil 6 лет назад +2

    I understand doing sets of lighter weights for the metabolic stress/pump. But that guy w the beard was only cable curling like 10lbs. Maybe it was just to show as an example for the video but wow. I mean wow.

    I have never been able to get a bicep peak. Any suggestions? I can built a 20.5" arm (19" as I type this) but my bicep tends to just get thick/wide but never any height or peak. My tris get huge though and of course make up and bulk of my arm size making my biceps look even smaller.
