Barbasol Pacific Rush has menthol and though hard to find is not discontinued (as far as I know.) A strong menthol scent would be a great addition to the Barbasol lineup (along with a lemon-lime.)
Nice shave as always. Thanks for showing the brushless Barbasol at the end. It reminded me of my Dad, who LOVED that stuff and never found anything he liked as well after it was discontinued. Good memories from half a century ago.
Hey Sinatra. Nice shave. Love the khaki set. Back in the day in my family, we gave the sons a razor from the year they were born. Menthol Barbasol is a tough find. I used about a month a go the Jurassic Park with the Van Yulay menthol dots. Was a real good shave and nice and cold. Have a great week and smooth shaves.
Great video again. That is very cool that you have something 100 years old and still works. They don’t make things like they used too that is for sure. Have a great weekend or week depending when you read this.
Pacific Rush and Arctic Chill are great smells. I actually looked into buying a bulk pack to get me thru my work shaves for a school year or two, but the costs weren't efficient enough. The green Aloe cream is more than sufficient and I was able to get cans for under $2.
Thanks so much for making such awesome shaving videos! I love your style! Just picked up my first safety razer (Henson Razer) and have been learning how to shave with it from your videos. I'm really enjoying my time shaving and wanted to send you a big thank-you!!! Cheers, Wesley from Canada
Hey SL! Thanks for the shoutout. My brother loved it 😊 the funny part is we used to have a black lab named Pancho when he was younger. 😂 Pancho and lefty is also one of my favorite songs too! Warm gregards Chris
When I was a kid (I’m in my fifties now) my Grandpa would teach me woodworking. He showed me how to make perfect dovetails and box joints. He also taught me how to sharpen a chisel. Man was a legend and a hero
Love your channel SL. I actually couldn't fully disassemble that Slim, so you won't be able to see all the pieces that are inside. It won't surprise you to discover that I too have one of the WWI Old Types that you used today. In fact, it was one of the first vintage razors I ever bought and sent me down the rabbit hole of collecting them. My WWI OT bites me the same way it bit you today. Oddly though, I've never used Barbasol shaving cream 🤣
I agree with you on those razors, they got it right the first time. All the rest is playing with tuning the shave (which is fine) but they hit the nail on the head with those first DEs.
Vintage safety razors shave just as good now as they did then! I need to do a Barbasol shave tomorrow. I can actually hydrate the shaving cream using a brush. BTW, I have never cut myself when holding razor blades by the end tabs. In fact, because manufacturing tolerances weren't as good in the early days, the end tabs were exposed so the blades could be adjusted to ensure proper alignment.
If you take care of a safety razor or straight razor it'll last many lifetimes. That's the number one reason I have both because they'll never let you down.
I have a question: i've been watching your shaving videos for a long time, they keep me entertained but I always seem to get confused by the way we must shave since you seem to often switch from going straightly downwards and following the "shave map"'s pattern (sideways on the cheek, upwards under the lips...). So I've een dying to know which way we should do it (when doing a single shave)? Love your videos by the way 😀
Awesome hang! Not a fan of menthol, but I like the razor. BTW went back and watched the first shaving video-you’re like fine wine, you’ve improved a great deal with age!!! 😂. Look forward to next week!!!
I've tried many shaving creams, foams, gels, butters, etc.. There's really only one product I like... Jack Black Beard Lube. Not sure if you've ever tried or reviewed but it's amazing. (For my face anyway)
Love these weekly talks and walking chats. Question tho, do you have a suggestion for a good adjustable razor? I shave relatively mild (I use a leaf twig) but would like to experiment with more aggressive razors.
Hey Sinatra Lennon, I'm just getting into wet shaving with a safety razor and would like to know which razor you like for people who are just starting out. I recently bought a Pearl Flexi because of its adjustability, and I love it so far! Also, which razors do you want for younger men just starting to get thicker hair on their faces? Thanks, Finn
I've had this name for too long lol, my actual name is Benjamin. Nice video btw, i always find time to watch them. You know how it is, you always find time to do what you like.
I watched another video of yours months ago where you used a DE safety razor with some old school Barbasol shave lather. Ever since, I got rid of the brush and oil and all and use Gillette Fusion gel. Works much better and far , farfewer nicks. You are changing lives with your content!
Hey so I have a follow up on the vintage Gillette foamy tropical coconut cans I ordered, I finally received them and am very surprised one can is used the other isn’t but even the used can is super full, anyway it smells like the blue coconut slushee from sonic drive ins if you want I can email you the fotos it’s truly amazing and I’m super happy especially with the fact that they are extremely rare, I was afraid they would be damaged during shipping because I live in Texas and the heat is just extreme
Hey SL, I am a sports editor at a small newspaper in southeastern Ohio. I got started into wet shaving the same year as you, in 2011. I watch your show each week and really enjoy it. If you could, give me a shout-out.
When will barbasol Venture out to creating a Tallow based shave soap puck or tub. I brought myself to use Barbasol in a can and didn't like it very much. The consistency is very thin and not as slick as I like. I ended up getting nicks cuts and a slice up the wazoo. Ended up chucking the can back in the closet. Never more. More power to those that can use shaving cream in a can. 🤘✊
Love the content Sinatra. Just an FYI for fellow wet shavers. Warning do not purchase or deal with Global Shave Club. I pre purchased the replica Toggle on 1-24-22 and then was told due to the country making them had a major disaster which destroyed the company so they would not be able to fulfill the orders. The owner told me I would get a refund for my $149. but I never did and he will not return my calls to this day so beware if you value your money!
Gillette pro shave gel its ultra mentholated but if you go to mexico you can find gillette foamy menthol its avilable in latin american and asian countries only but the crazy part its made in usa
i know i tried for a long time finding this Barbasol , my TV is 4K computer can only go 1080 p HD, anyways great shaving video fun as usual, imagine your oldest son choosing multi bladed cartridge razors not DE stay safe, cheers...oh just in case you didnt see i edit last post why not shout me out even you didn once a long time ago stay safe, cheers....Peter Jensen from Denmark

USA certainly was taking care of its army better. ww1 or ww2 the Germans didn't issue soldiers with any razors as standard kit i think.. they had to buy their own
can you shout me out? My name is Ayham, i am a college sophomore in the Kingdome of Jordan! i just got my hands on a van der hagen after a couple years of cheap and electric razors. i use UAE-made "Cosmo shaving foam" which is an awful lot like barbasol in quality and place of retail (i buy it at local dollar stores!), i'd love to see you review it!

Love to watch Townes Van Zandt Heartworn highways from time to time. Good stuff.
That’s a fantastic movie! If I could have hung out with my guitar at that song swap at Guy Clark’s house…wow!
After seeing this video I was thinking about getting this razor, should I?
I found one of these old Gillette razors on an antique market last year. I got it for $11- including the original tin it sits in.

Thanks again for the great new/old razors! My son was excited to see it and the old broken pieces too. You’re the best.

@@magiczero4 Right. Because of the rabbit hole, I have enough safety razors to last many generations 🤣

It really depends on the direction your hair grows on the various parts of your face. It's unique to each person.
Not a fan of menthol instead of cooling i feel burning from it. I avoid it wish theyd stop putting peppermint in everything
But try gillette pro shave its ultra mentholated
I meNt to say gillette pro shave gel😅
I didn’t know there was a Barbasol 1919 post shave balm.
There is now!
Brian, you forgot to clear the runways!🤣
Great shave my friend And a massive thank you for the shoutout too. Hope you have a great weekend

I stopped making shave videos lol I was bad at it, but Roberts classic shave from Croatia is cool
Awesome shave man. Do you think you can convince Barbasol to make a hard shave soap puck?
I watched you for years
If you want a menthol kick from a foam look up Proraso Green cans. Great stuff! Cheers, Brad J.

Wait this can't be right I bought this or a similar product at Walmart last month.

Does Mitch have a channel or online shop for products? Sounds like he should!
Give Duke Cannon aftershave a try, I love it
He mentioned in a previous video he tried it and didn’t like it.
That's too bad, their proper cologne's are really good as well.
If it's any consolation to you, I watch you on a twenty year old secondary monitor while playing games.
Perfect!
