Blackmore is certainly the hardest boss fight in this game. I know you’re supposed to foresee the shadow’s actions based on it’s gestures but given your movement space is limited and especially since he’s pretty tanky, it is kinda difficult to do that during the entire fight.
The laser from green skeletons are light elemental. You can farm them right before the fight

@juanjovaldivieso2972 Except that it does. Equip Nitesco with any weapon-based glyph for the OP giant lightsaber union that consumes less amount of hearts. Use Sapiens Fio as support glyph for additional damage.

@@kaledasnail8141 He apparently has 9,999 HP, and if you can do that much to him, he takes out a Super Potion to drink it, then you can hit him to get a free Super Potion. One Super Potion is super not worth all that work, but it's a cool little detail that they put in, even though they probably knew next to nobody'd see it themselves.
Thinking about it even Belmont can't defeat it.
@@unknownuser494 Nope. With 9999HP, a Super Potion (effectively doubling his HP to 19998) and the ability to meld into walls, he'd be nearly invincible to anyone who couldn't steal Glyphs, and I'm pretty certain none of the Belmont clan knew how to use those.

To be fair, he did have 9,999 HP. He can't be killed by conventional means as he always uses a Super Potion every other turn. Even if you do manage to inflict 9,999 damage, it still won't kill him as he won't take anymore damage until he recovers. Taking his glyph while he's in the walls is the only way to kill him.
And that's what pissed me off before I figured out how to kill him.

Shanoa can absorbed boss abilities which this boss is pass through wall. Ofc if your abilities is taken while you are at wall, you will merged with wall.. with all your brain and intestines. Instant death ofc.

Such a fun game, all the abilities were at least a bit fun to use down to the normal weapons, the fact that Shanoa could take the form of monsters was so cool and the art was beautiful, all the ds games were great but Ecclesia was the best.

It's so weird that of the three Castlevania titles on the NDS (which could even be called a trilogy of some kind) one is a direct sequel to a GBA game, another is a sequel of sorts to Bloodlines, and the third is...pretty much its own thing.
pretty much like aria of sorrow is its own thing, so is circle of the moon and the other one is a sequel to Simons quest (chronologically)
Circle of the Moon set in 1830. Ecclesia is said to be "right after the era of Richter Belmont", so it's the opposite, chronologically Ecclesia is before CotM.
But CotM isn't canon within the timeline.
Since Richter Belmont was still a young man at the end of the 18th century, shouldn't he still be alive by the time OoE and CotM takes place?
I believe that it was the fill in the “gaps” of the CV timeline before the originally planned SotN 2 (which was supposed to be about the war with Dracula in 1999)

This is one of my favorite Castlevania games. So many offensive options and a more unique level progression layout. Great work! I used to dread the boss battle against the Shadow puppeteer and the Centaur thingie.

This is one of the most underrated castlevania games ever. It is my favorite next to sotn.
I remember fighting dracula for the first time when I was 5 years old, cuz It was the only game I had, and I was so astounded when I saw dracula start walking, I'd never seen anything animated like that. Nostalgia

Such an underrated game. Symphony of the Night gets all the credit, but IMO Order of Ecclesia is sitting right next to it at the top of the franchise.
Most people only say SotN is the best because of nostalgia goggles. It's a good game, but I'd say most other Metroidvanias, with a few exceptions, are just better. SotN started the genre, the other games refined the gameplay and controls.
@@SpookGod Yeah if we put them all under the microscope, without nostalgia, SotN would definetely look a bit dated. Not to mention the story has always been weak and the voice acting is on a legendary level of bad, but because it's SotN it gets a pass.
Story in the entire franchise has always been on the backburner, though SotN does actually reveal Dracula's motive for hating humans. My biggest issue has always been the existence of the Inverted Castle. It's a lazy idea and beyond frustrating to navigate, it isn't tailored to Alucard's movements at all.
I personally liked the inverted castle, even if it is a bit lazy. Not sure if it would've been possible to make a game of that scope without reusing the scenario.
They could have done a lot more, they were just too lazy to do so.

I honestly think Blackmore is way harder than Dracula. (Seriously screw that boss!) Nicely done by the way. You really dismantled these bosses.
Blackmore could be cheesed hard if you had onyx pins and the laser glyph. Dracula was so fuckin difficult for me though, took forever to down that bitch.
Ah I don't think I had those glyphs around the time. Dracula was also a damn struggle though having one of the shield glyphs made avoiding some of his attacks easier. (Forgot the name of it but it was the shield that protected you from above.)
Scutum (not Vol or Melio Scutum). Most of these battles are done with non-ideal glyphs and/or strats, probably for style reasons (he only uses a magic glyph on Blackmore, who is highly resistant to physical). Blackmore is actually pretty easy with dual Ignis + ruby ring as you can kill him fairly quickly with a combination of glyph union and regular spell attacks (and onyx pin helps a lot if you're getting hit).
vol luminatio is actually less desirable than Ignis (it deals less than 2-hit ignis and is much slower) and the union is terrible
this is a video game, it has stats. unless you have difficulty hitting a giant boss like blackmore with ignis (why are you playing this game?) then ignis is better. it fires faster, costs less, and does more damage, plus it has a better glyph union (nitesco + weapon is still better use of hearts though)

In "Order Of Ecclesia", I died against nearly every single boss, except the first one.
And don't get me started with the "Castle"-bosses.
My only method was, to cheese them with some uber-spell-combining crap combined with the "insta death"-ring and one of Draculas powers.

I don't count old NES side scroller jump'n'run/shooter/whatever cause nearly every single one of them puts "Dark Souls" to shame.

I kind of like the edition of purely magic attacks that drain your magic meter, it keeps you from breezing bosses so you need to also manage your energy on top of that

You fight him pretty early on, so you don't have access to most of the glyphs that would be helpful against him. Best you would have is Macir, and it's got lousy range.

circle o the moon was AMAZING, it was quite hard however, I still need to beat the game as the skeleton and the bear as well

Ecclesia and COTM are good bookends for the handheld entries.
The only gripe I have with OoE is that (imo) Dracula really should have had a demon form in this game.
I mean, the whole game is about using Dracula's own dark powers to finally destroy him once and for all. As much as I like Dracula's general design (doesn't he look kinda like Walter Sullivan?) in OoE, I think his second "form" was quite underwhelming.

For a Dracula boss fight, this is the most entertaining and fun I have seen in a Castlevania game!
The game is good, anyway i was expecting to Dracula show us a second epic form, but NO. Castlevania Portrait of Ruin for me it is the best Castlevania of NDS.
I love Order of Ecclessia and I like Dawn of Sorrow, but Portrait of Ruin will be always my fav for this reasons:
1.You can play with 2 characters at the same time.
2. It has pretty cool areas to explore inside the portraits.
3. Some bosses and enemies feel kinda like a tribute to Universal Monsters.
4. Pretty cool original soundtracks and remixes of 2 of my favorite tracks in previous games (Theme of Simon Belmont and Iron Blue Intention).
5. You can fight against Richter and Trevor.
6. The Vampire Killer whip is back
Portrait of Ruin is by far my favorite Castlevania game ever❤.

@@dragos8839 basically Shanoa had the ability to use Dracula's power against himself (Dominus), that's how she was able to beat him (at the cost of losing her life)

Despite being a literal pixel doll, Shanoa always somehow awakened something in me and her animation of turning around, lifting her hair and exposing her back was always so enticing and mesmerizing for me!
