all very true. The show has pretty solid writing overall, but there does seem to be a lot of plot armour when it comes to the other vampires not picking up on Orlox's treachery. He says "You want to acomplish this through an alliance with a man who doesn't worship you?", constantly needs pushing to bow to Erzebet, prefers to literally eat the rich and powerful rather than the common man (unlike the other posh vampires), has no problems forming romantic attachments to humans and let a BELMONT child live when any other vampire would have killed the kid alongside his mother! The direction the show is taking suggests that Olrox may be the avatar of the Aztec God Quetzalcoatl. It remains unclear why he did not take action against Sekhmet much earlier. However, it's probable that Olrox is collaborating with Dracula and Alucard on a long-term plan to confront Sekhmet and her demonic and divine associates and allies.
@@Amal-mc1ey I think the show is proving why Dracula is OP since all gods, monsters, and demons tremble before him to the point God backs him at times.
i just rewatched the first part and forgot dracula and lisa came back to life, so he could be a good guy in this, relatively speaking as in not killing *all* the humans.
The thing that I find fascinating about Olrox is that he's effectively the protagonist of a revenge story. A man driven to kill the person who killed the love of his life. But we saw the end of that story at the beginning of episode 1 of this series. He's done it. He's had his revenge. But now? Now he just kind of...drifts through life. He's above it all, but in a way he's not really part of it either. He's the man who's had his revenge and now doesn't really have much else to live for.
He parallels Dracula in a few ways too. They're both vampires who fell in love with humans. Dracula never turned Lisa into a vampire out of respect for her decision to not become one. While Olrox turned his lover into a vampire so they could be together forever and it being implied his lover didn't fully consent to becoming a vampire. Dracula went mad and depressed after Lisa's death deciding the human race needs to be wiped out including the innocent and children who had nothing to do with Lisa's death even though this will mean he and the other vampires will die from starvation too as he just wanted to die and take the rest of the world with him. Olrox just tracks down the one responsible for killing his lover, gets his revenge, but still continues to carry on existing and spares young Richter as he was just a child and out of so Richter can grow strong and have a fair fight in the future. Also both Dracula and Olrox get criticised for their decisions in regards to their lovers and it plays a part in the deaths of their lovers. Carmilla flat out questioned why Dracula never turned Lisa as she may have had more of a chance of protecting herself if she was vampire (and Carmilla was doing it to trigger Dracula). Mizrak calls Olrox out on turning his lover without consent made him a target for Julia.
@@robonaught One thing to clarify is we don't know if he turned his lover into a vampire. Because when Mizrak asked him if he turned him, Olrox doesn't really answer the question.

This man was my bisexual awakening. Even besides that, Olrox is one of the more interesting characters of the Castlevania series. Hes a very good neutral character. No way friends of the Belmonts but also not exactly allies with Vampires. Hes pretty much his own boss. He a genuinely cool character.
Olrox transforms into a Feathered Serpent. Like Quetzalcoatl/Kukulcan, who's apparently not so big on human sacrifices. One of Quetz/Kuku's rivals is Tezcatlipoca, a Deity related to Jaguars of Night, Sorcery, and Jaguars. Erzebet became a god-like entity via Sekhmet, associated with lions and in this show, wishes to create an eternal night. Anyone have the feeling Olrox dislikes Erzebet because of her current similarities to what Tezcatlipoca was? Cat associated gods with dominion over night?
In the myths themselves it is said that Sejmet enjoyed drinking blood, he fits perfectly with a vampire, they used Quetzalcoatl only for his popularity, but there are a good handful of Aztec/Mayan gods that would have fit better
@Aristocratic13 Kukulkan seemed to indulge a bit of Human Sacrifice, though not to the same degree. Going from Mayan to Aztec, Quetzalcoatl's sacrifices are more on the deers, rabbits, jaguars, snakes and butterflies. Human blood too, but that mostly comes from piercing various body parts with a cactus or stingray spine depending on person and not so much kill people.
No, he literally says he dislikes oppression beacuse a "god" says so. Like the Spanish who came and killed becaus their god commanded them to kill the natives. Olrox believes more in the spiritual belief he learned from his Mohican late love. That everyone is equal and accepted under the Great Spirit -there are no masters and no slaves.
I was rooting for him, such a badass character. And I love his shadowy powers, it’s like Sylvanas’ Banshee form from WoW or Reaper’s Wraith form from Overwatch or the Death Eaters travel spell from Harry Potter.
It can refer to several women, the straightforward one, would be Tonantzin the Earth Mother. It may be Xochiquetzal, the maiden Goddess of fertility, childbirth, and first time mothers. Or Teocuichpo, later known as the Doña Isabella, Last Queen of the Aztecs. Her line survives to this day, known as the Moctezuma family from the Spanish monarchy.
Olrox said he’s not in love Mizrak but he saved him from Erezabet for potentially slicing him in half and then cried when he chose to run back and fight? If that’s not love then he must have very deep feelings for him then, but that man loves him. And I still can’t get over how my man Alucard came back 😊😊😊 season two can’t come fast enough for me and I can’t wait for what else unfold in Nocturne👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

While I would’ve liked them to get a Mexican actor for the role, I can’t help but appreciate McClarnon exquisite voice work. I also love that they make the character so poised and calculating, avoiding stereotypes and making him so goddamn cool. He’s definitively the Isaac of Nocturne.
It would have been a decent of the Aztec people, as the character is Aztec not Mexican. There are villages in Mexico of the decent soft Aztec still alive today.
The fact he's named after the legendary boss from SOTN made me interested, but seeing his arc so far has made him my favorite in the show. Hope to see more of him in season 2 whenever that drops
Despite him have killed Richter's mother for vengeance, I love this character, I hope next season he show up more and more and joining forces with Alucard to defeat Erzsebeth.
What should you think of this? What I think for this sad but yet lovely story about Olrox’s feelings, maybe in the next seasons should have he’s former lover reincarnated, so Olrox can be at ease and be loved again. I think that will be nice for a vampire to have a happy ending
Personal theory: Olrox was turned into a vampire by the conquistadors. He turned on them and killed them but it was too late to save his people from them. Vampires as a largely European idea, and you could stretch things like Camazots into a vampire but Central American mythos didn’t really have vampires.
Tengo la sensación de que en algún momento se convertirá en el ser mas fuerte. Alucard y Richter deberán unirse para derrotarlo. Las canciones de Lacrimosa y Lamento de Ninfa es lo mas bello que he escuchado en mucho tiempo.

I was so confused seeing Alucard, thinkin Olrox tipped him off before sailing to Europe and then I remembered the last show took place in Romania which is in Europe 😂😂 so he probably witnessed a shift in the power and menacing atmosphere and studied up on her and her doings. I’m so excited to see Olrox and Alucard interactions. Something tells me Olrox can really throw some shade as lethal as Alucard could with Trevor😂 I know it’s gonna be an epic battle, Olrox is definitely gonna come for the queens head. She, by all rights, is a colonizer like the ones his ppl were slaughtered by. He’s quite literally told to bow right away, he talks to her, she refers to him as one of “her dragons” basically claiming ownership of him, then he’s told to bow again, then she flexes her power and he’s coerced to bow and TOLD by her that he is going to hand over America to her as one of her liaisons. I don’t see him NOT kicking her into a tree 😂😂
He reminds me a lot about a very dark and mysterious baron from “trinity blood” who was madly in love with Lilith ..n being a vampire which is their similarities ..he uses the ring of Solomon as well

@@user-pi1lb4tf2f Olrox only hated Julia. He has nothing against Richter. However, Olrox spared Richter so the latter can have a fair chance one day to take revenge.
This man was my bisexual awakening. Even besides that, Olrox is one of the more interesting characters of the Castlevania series. Hes a very good neutral character. No way friends of the Belmonts but also not exactly allies with Vampires. Hes pretty much his own boss. He a genuinely cool character.
His passion and love are so profound. It’s so hard to be him on so many levels. Forever damned to watch everything he loves die
Bowing while looking up. That's badass!!
Goddamit why does everyone in Transylvania have to be so drop dead sexy??? 😭
I want more of him, is so complex,
Im looking for someone to make these olrox scenes. I respect u

Cat associated gods with dominion over night?
idk
In the myths themselves it is said that Sejmet enjoyed drinking blood, he fits perfectly with a vampire, they used Quetzalcoatl only for his popularity, but there are a good handful of Aztec/Mayan gods that would have fit better
I thought Quelzacual didn’t require human sacrifices
@Aristocratic13
Kukulkan seemed to indulge a bit of Human Sacrifice, though not to the same degree.
"But in the end, there was only her." Curious about this comment..
Same.
A good catch.
9:37 That is a face of pure contempt more concentrated than anything I’ve ever seen before in my life.
Alucard is such a badass he made it into an olrox highlight reel
Man, Im going to miss Orlox once his role in the story is done, it's going to be very interesting seeing how his relationship with Mirzak's is going to clash with the inevitability of Richter finally acting on his revenge on him.
....Whatever happens, I just want my dude with an ass full of Catholic Guilt to be happy, whether with Orlox or some future character we have yet to meet.
You realize Olrox is the one with an ass full of catholic guilt, right? Especially after his night with Mizrak.
You have to love and hate this vampire he’s the one who killed Richter’s mother and yet There’s some thing Sympathetic about him!
who thought the guy who started off the show killing off a kids mom in front of him would end up being my favorite character 😭
Olrox and drolta carried this show on their backs
I love the show version of Olrox such a charismatic character. He incites both sympathy and menace. My favorite nocturne character for sure
Despite him have killed Richter's mother for vengeance, I love this character, I hope next season he show up more and more and joining forces with Alucard to defeat Erzsebeth.
The best anime serie I have ever seen. The weaknesses and strenghts of every character properly showcased
What should you think of this?
What I think for this sad but yet lovely story about Olrox’s feelings, maybe in the next seasons should have he’s former lover reincarnated, so Olrox can be at ease and be loved again.
I think that will be nice for a vampire to have a happy ending
I love how he’s just a careful observer until he realizes Erzabet is a legitimate threat outside of just Europe
Such a great character. I'm glad they expanded on his origins.
The Orochimaru of Castlevania 😂😂
You don’t want this smoke. 2:16
Thank you for the Alucard bit. It made the video for me. ❤❤❤
ur welcome🥰
Never knew I'd love another supporting character as much as I loved Isaac
10:32 This. This hurts.
Getting some Dio and Pucci vibes. XD
I love castlevania so fucking much
He was in one of the seasons of Fargo. His voice is unique.
He is one sexy vampire but he and mizrak are good together
Instantly loved this character from the start. Glad they didn't botch him as a one dimensional villain by the end of the season.
Honestly I want to see an alternate version of the show if olrox adopted him
0:37
That black female vampire is beautiful.
Olrox isnt stupid ...he'll find a way out
Olrox is the new Isaac.
He stole every scene he was in.
Can we all agree 9:55 is one of the best parts of the show?
Oh no not another character to be obsessed with
Orlox is hot!
Personal theory: Olrox was turned into a vampire by the conquistadors. He turned on them and killed them but it was too late to save his people from them. Vampires as a largely European idea, and you could stretch things like Camazots into a vampire but Central American mythos didn’t really have vampires.
I like Olrox.
He got that Isaac vibe… not really, but close.
We’ll see how they develop him in season 2 of Nocturne.
Really wanted him to say "Dragons bow to no one."
oh my god...
That last couple of seconds...
Why does he looks so hot and cute at the same time...
He's like mix of Griffith and Noah from Fate/Grand Order.
(I'm sorry if that last one confuses you, just that look and turn around makes me think of that character...)
I pray Werewolfs make an appearance.
He reminds me a lot about a very dark and mysterious baron from “trinity blood” who was madly in love with Lilith ..n being a vampire which is their similarities ..he uses the ring of Solomon as well
My favourite character!!!
I watched this just for olrox ❤ i mean can u blame me 😅
11:31 prettiest girl in the series
Excuse me? A girl? What?
It’s a boy. Bruh.
9:55 this cemented him as my favorite
❤ Orlax
Amo ele por ele ser JUSTO.
Ele só queria viver com quem ele amava e tiraram isso dele. Além disso o rotero deixa claro que ele só vai mata o muleque se For Atacado primero.
does anyone feel Olrox is really Dracula cause i feel it in the way he carries himself he's powerful and proud with no real motive other that to observe and that crack the countess made about dragons gives me hope
Anybody else think Olrox was the one who informed Alucard about Richter? Just me?
same omg i always say that😭😭
@@wiwikawaii473 IM NOT THE ONLY ONE 😭
Thank you for this.
Ur welcome :)
Anybody else theorize that Olrox is the one who told Alucard there was a Belmont's life on the line?
Baby girl has done nothing wrong ever in his entire life and i love him
except murder a mother in front of her son, but i guess we can let that slide.
@@dg7347 to be fair it was a revenge kill, not just done for the fun of it
@@hamsnub and she was just doing her job.

@@wolfstrand1959 to be fair vampires gotta eat just like us. we dont judge the character of our food, why would they?
I'm 100% Team Olrox
Just remember, he's not a good person
Adam up here voicing vampires.
Even though I am not gay I find him very fascinating and handsome.
Orlox tiene alta facha parece el tercer integrante de milli vanilli, osea solo miralo es mejor que el pelado de symphony of the night que nomas estaba ahi para morirse
