The American Revolution began in 1776. The 200th anniversary of this event in 1976, a.k.a. the American Bicentennial, was widely celebrated. All quarter dollars, half dollars, and dollars were struck with a special obverse for that year. These were the first of America's "modern" circulating commemoratives, and currently also the only ones not to be part of a long multi-year series.
You just made me 10 years younger because I was 2 years old when Kennedy died thank you man.
I started collecting these about 6 months ago. I'm up to 160 of the halfs and 150 of the quarters. Great topic and video.
Started my collection not long ago. Bagged 40 Bicentennials, the rest was from late 1960's to the mid 1970's from my bank. Great video.

I decided to do a set of Kennedy halves so I picked up two $500 boxes of halves and pulled over 300 bicentennials out. I don't know why but I love them so I'm keeping em.

Yea 64 comes after 73 makes sense also because it has 90 percent silver it has 40 percent silver but they actually have no silver in them according to this guy - this guy was definitely high while making this

Just curious you don't mention the type 1 or type 2 of the Bicentennial is it not true that the type 1 is more scarce and more collectable and on that subject dose the type 1 come in both mint marks?
Dude I love your videos but there is SOOOOOO many errors in this video is assassination date, word metal Vs silver, don't talk about s mint proofs more than montage - proof sets are silver but not mint sets, the quarters error at the end I could go on but u should take this vodo down as it makes your channel look bad. You have great info in other videos but this is just plain bad, not trying to be rude, but seriously remake the one and I'll send u a 40% silver 1976 bicen proof - bug's me that much!

The silver proof was lowest mintage. Followed by Silver Clad, Follow by Silver S MS set.

@BigDCoins, Got a fast ? Long story short. Just moved into this house that needs some very light remolding. Earlier took of the base molding and found an Kennedy coin in back of the wooden floor. Coins you have it shows president Kennedy head and face from a side view. This coin I just found of Kennedy head and face is a front view. Coin is beat up really badly. But cleaned it off. It is not silver, it is like a golden plate or copper color of some kind. In front of coin is front view face and it says John F Kennedy,1961 to 1963, 35 president of the United States. Then on back of it is just says John F Kennedy,born May 29,1917.World War 2 Navel her first catholic president established peace youngest president to be assassinated died November 1963. This is the only thing I can make out of it. So what kind of coin did I find, and what would it be worth ?

I have a 1976 silver proof Kennedy half with what looks like two very clear bumps ( not dents) on his cheeck almost vampire bite like. Come across any of those? It came in a set of silver 1976 silver proof set I've had since I was just a little Padawan.

Ummm...not a big deal but in the video you said Kennedy was assassinated in 1973 but the following year in 1964...they slapped his face on the half dollar(said this part this way is more ahhhhhhh THOUGHT PRO VO KING, EL O EL). Well, it was '63 tho hmmm the same year Porsche came out with the First Porsche 911, hmmmm Ring a Bell^!!^
1975 is the One And Only year that the U.S. of A. minted a Coin without that coins year written on it. Hmmmmm...instead the NEW Year is Written on it.

It was a good video man dont get me wrong but u said so so many things one way then another way u would repeat an incorrect fact several times and then get the fact right just to repeat it wrong again lol was u drunk or chasing the dragon or something bro 🤣 it was a good vid though I love seeing the old bicentennial halves I have a few and of course couple of the stupidly coveted 1964 ones also my bank gets rolls of halves in often and I usually grab a few there always bicentennial ones in them and on occasion silver ones so I keep the silver and spend the rest
