I have a cottage up in Northern Michigan. Unfortunately our lake is a little smaller and there are no wake times before 10 AM and after 6:30 PM. We have a giant, neighboring lake right next to ours and Every time I’m out fishing at like 8 in the evening I always hear a nice roaring V8 in the distance. Sounds so fucking peaceful.
Rigged for long haul cruising at high speed. The slow ass planing is just something you have to suffer through for that. But as an archipelago cruiser you need that high speed.
most likely has a B1 and propped for top end/cruising, mirage+25P possibly. par for the course when you're not pulling a bunch of bastard kids on tubes all day.
If you look you can see from his prop wash it was trimmed out at first. You might expect that if the no wake area was shallow but whatever its his boat
In the '90s, that was the sound from my balcony of $150k in cash hidden in subwoofer speaker boxes heading down to Jacksonville Fla, coming back to Newport News 20 hours later as 4 compressed 2.2lb packages of a white powdery substance hidden in subwoofer speaker boxes, half a dozen times per year. Just sayin'... That's the sound of money.
guys for every guy who loves the sound of a well built V8 there are just as many or more that just get pissed. I live on a beach with pretty much all older people and my boat has a 502 supercharged with a full roller and through transom open water injected headers and I try very hard to idle my way out till I am completely out of our bay, I still get nasty looks?
Amazing…for about ten minutes. Anyone who’s been on a boat knows how loud a stock engine sounds, so imagine how this sounds. People who like this are the same people who cut off a well designed car exhaust, gain no or little HP but end up with terrible drone.
I want to see someone stick a Ferrari or Lamborghini engine into a boat like they did in the movie revenge of the nerds with the Ferrari engine in the sail boat lol, that would be epic.
It basically raises the the angle of the propulsion unit in the water to get the bow of the boat up out of the water and on a plane. Lowering the unit would bring the front of the boat down closer to the water
@@josel8311 The sound? No. All engines have their own unique sound, just like people do... certain sounds carry over no matter what accessories you add... like an accent. That accent belongs to the 496 alone.
@@bajamike9276 Thanks for the reply. Since the firing order of the 496 HO found in the Baja and the 454ci are out of phase with one another, the exhaust pulsing for each engine is unique. The 496 actully shares the firing order of the LS small block family, which is why pitch and pulse duration aside, both sound rather similar at WOT. In other words, it's physically impossible for the 496 and 454 to sound the same. They very well may sound the same to you, but they are quite different, and easily recognizable from great distance. Back in the 80s, the 496 was much more popular, and was the benchmark sound of the go-fast boat. I think Liberator used them quite a bit too.
@@djscott9207 Totally speed prop. My H2X takes forever to plane especially if I have more than 4 people in the boat and if all sitting in the back. But once on plane, 70 mph is obtainable.
Is this happiness..? Only $ 100.- per hour to gasoline. Being bored after having done this more than 3 times while disturbing everybody who enjoys this beautiful scene with this farty noise. Come on, I love the sound of V8's. But for me this is 'tristeze' (italian) in one of its purest forms
He was a mile away and moving at 70 or 75 mph. Any car at that speed and distance would look slow too. Not bad for a 27 ft boat with a single motor that sounds stock. A full tank of gas with a speed prop will make it slower to plane.
There's nothing like the sweet, sweet sound of a massive V8 in the evening...
Bruningable big agreement.
Bruningable slowly getting quieter in the distance
Being a big kid it would have been FLAT from the start line...... 🤣 V88888!!! Sounds oh yeah
Some of my best childhood memories are the sounds of boat engines
Lol no shit!
I always hear these VERY FAR AWAY at Water's Edge, like 10+ miles in the distance, and is still hearable like daytime. Love the V8s.
You can’t beat the glorious sound of a open exhaust V8 taking off like that on the water.
GOD BLESS V8’s
Nominated for best sound on youtube.
That sounds like a mean beast. Such a powerful raoring sound!
No that is the most beautiful sounding V8 I've ever heard of!
I have a couple on my lake. They are hella loud but they have that crisp sound that gives that good feeling to the ears. Super good

Sound of raw liberty
People who dislike the sound of a V8 engine like this, really need therapy!
Beethoven or a V8 sound like this one. Both are so good for the soul.
That boat barkin🦅🦅 love the sound of a v8 wide open
Somehow v8 in boat s sound the best, v8 plus tubro whistle is pure pleasure!
Life doesn't get any better then this awesome video!
That boat almost couldn’t get out of its own way. Almost

That never gets old. Like a P-51.
I need this on loop
Simply perfect!
Goergous sound, love it!
Oh wow a boat that's about a mile away and can still hear it
ear candy, nothing sounds quite like this
LOUD AND PROUD!!
Holy shit, it took forever for that boat to get on plane. Does the owner know he has to trim down at first??

Yeah, my boat planes off in one boat length from a stop...
Davey Summers LMAO!!!

Heard the exact same sound on the beach today.

Sounds like a big Chevrolet car-and the take-off sounds like the big Chevrolet being floored.
And off to America he go's

Nice fuckin sound of V8 engine in this launch/boat!!!
Best sound on youtube vote here, nice video! Where is this out of curiosity??
Thanks. This is in Malmoe, Sweden.

When she says shes home alone, but shes across the lake 0:30

mean beast that cant get out of water???
What kind of camera is used here? Please advise!
Panasonic HC-X920
TRIM DOWN TRIM DOWN !!!!!
little snow to plane.....

The Disabled Gamer no it wouldnt be. The car Engines are not suitable for a Boat. The Stress for a motor on the Water is a lot higher
Look up Riva Aquarama's. The originals from the '60's used Lamborghini V-12's
Get your movies right bro. That movie was one crazy summer.
You would have to change those engines so much to work in a boat it would not resemble the original. The cam especially is totally different.
It would run like shit
That's what seas creatures think is their version of Thunder
Crossplane V8
Sounds like a Koenigsegg Regera
Just curious where was this?
Malmö, Sweden
Guys, I know a lot about planes, cars, trains and tractors, but I've never worked with boats. What does trim mean for boats???

Who makes the boat?
It´s a Baja with a 454 or 496 Mercruiser V8 petrol engine
I'm pretty sure It's a Baja
Preston Madrigal
...anyone know where this is filmed?
gocygo63 It's in Malmö, Sweden

Agree, definitely propped wrong, hard to watch a v8 revving that high for seemingly low speed.
