Love this backpack. I thought of something you could to make the base of the bag more sturdy and durable. Cut a piece of cardboard box to fit the inside bottom of the bag and cover it with something waterproof i.e. a piece of that jacket might do and then put studs on the outside on the bottom to give it a bit more wear.
Rachel Bell great idea! you can also buy heavyweight fusible interfacing and aply it to your fabric before sewing. With this two things you would get a really sturdy backpack
Rachel Bell Another thing is sometimes you can find a heavy weight place mat at thrift stores for like 25 cents. I've used the for giving bags a little structure before. They're nice, because they won't bend and crack like cardboard would over time.
April this is amaaazing! You have made backpack and bag-making SO much less daunting to me. Thank you!
Annika Victoria I keep seeing your comments on her videos and I just want someone to be this uplifting toward me
I have never stitched but I just admire your brilliance. take a bow. God bless you.
This is still the coolest diy I have ever seen
I could never makes this but it's so fascinating to watch
I know right😭 i dont even sew but ive been watching her videos for like an hour now because theyre so interesting
Ahahaha too true
I don't have a sewing machine, but i've seen all of her videos in one week since i found it
N
I would totally buy that bag if it was for sale😍

V'sPsychoStalker me too
I get really annoyed whenever its time to buy a backpack because i can never find something that satifies me enough to use every day. I want to thank you for inspiring me to create my own backpack this next school year. This is just where i needed to start getting my ideas💓
True DIYer. You have all my respect, April.
Omg that automatic labeling feature is so cool!! Also, watching something being serged is so satisfying. 😂😂😂
You should have your own clothing line !!!
best thrifted transformation I've seen. Actually best quality DIY I've seen on internet. CONGRATS!
This is seriously one of the most beautiful backpacks I've ever seen. You're so skilled! Love your work!
You're the best. I can't believe this. I'm shocked! Congratulations for this magnificent talent.
Idek how to sew... But I get super excited each time I see thrifted transformations.
1. I JUST REALIZED LIRPA IS APRIL BACKWARDS OMG
2. You re fantastic I wish I was as talented as you!!
How are you so creative?? This is perfect because I am obsessed with backpacks and I have so many jackets lying around, I can't wait to recreate this! Bless you and your channel I love you 😍
There are no words that can describe how great you are! You are so creative and do wonderful things with what most people would trash keep up the great job I love your videos. I hope you inspire young people to start sewing . Thank you for taking to time and commitment to upcycle.
I cannot believe the level of talent you have. You can make not only clothes, but bags too! You never need to buy any clothes in your life lol. I am so envious! You are so amazing!!!
You are truly gifted and amazing April 😊
What would've been interesting is if you put a fabric lining in the interior of the bag of a separate patterned or colored fabric. It would make the bag more durable and protect what's inside more.
WOW! The backpack looked so amazing! You're so talented!
I love these ideas and the "transformation" from thrifted to trendy are always mind blowing and unique. Your diys are probably the only ones I actually recreate!!
It’s so awesome you can see three different things coming together in your head and then actually do it you are amazing and this backpack looks awesome !!
Happy #thriftshopday 🎉❤️
coolirpa I Honestly LOVE You. PLEASE Don't Stop Transforming. You Are My Thrift-Spiration!!!❤️❤️❤️

You're so talented, I swear each new episode of thrifter transformations amazes me. But this by far has got to be my favorite one so far
Wow, you've given me a great idea! My roommates' oldest son was interested in this expensive backpack but of course none of us could afford it, and had asked me if it were possible of me to make it for him. I have the perfect sewing pattern in mind, but couldn't figure out how to afford the material that would be needed; now I do! Thank you!
I WANT THIS SO BAD YOU SHOULD REALLY START AN ETSY SHOP PLEASEEEEE
I agree
IKR I would totally buy it!!!
Larry S agree

You are such an inspiration to me and many others! I was having a pretty low day but seeing this video in my subscription box really brought a smile to my face :-) Keep doing what you're doing and thank you, April!
And the website is amazing!!! I was feeling super down today because I couldn't afford any books for my fashion class! This helps so much!
this really is the best bag I have ever seen, if I saw this in a shop I wouldn't think twice on buying it, PLEASE can I have it!!!!!
That jacket was so beautiful😩 but I loved the bag💚
The label was amazing! And using the pocket as an inside pocket was such a good idea.
I love your videos so much! I am continually impressed with you. You not only have great ideas, but your attention to detail is awesome - it makes things look professional :) Also, I love the editing of your videos and the way you include background music and enough information to know what's happening, without completely overwhelming the video with too much information.
You should start making more and selling them! I'd buy one omg!! 😍
Omg this is blowing my mind it looks really similar to the one I say at a journeys store! I want that so bad.
Wow! I never get tired of this! You should do some senior tips for college!
This is AMAZING! The three fabrics look like they were made to go together!
possibly the coolest sewing machine i've ever seen
I love the way the back-pack turned out honestly I wouldn't be able to do that but i will most definitely try won't be as awesome.
This is so cool. I was wondering for so long how to make a backpack~ you should definitely have your own shop in the future!

You are amazing at these at the same time u are a life saver ❤️
This is the first video I've seen from you and I already know you're one of the most useful/amazing youtubers around. You actually know the struggle of being in college 😭
How like how I was thinking the whole time that I could never make this
Me too! Really cool idea but I can't sew. Lol!
teemoneybaby look for diy drawstring backpack here on youtube. there are some you can make only with glue, no sewing!!
Awien Hama you gotta start with sewing simple things and work your way up. i learned sewing from youtube (mainly coolirpa and secret life of a bionerd) and now i am totally making this backpack
+Awien Hama You could if you took the time and learned how to it is really simple! :)
This is amazing! You are so talented!
I love everything about this bag! The colors, textures, all of it! If I was using it for school, I would probably put some of the leather on the bottom 1/3 of the bag for more support... but for everyday items this bag is perfect!
Seriously you need your own tv show I would watch it all the time! This reminds me of those tv shows like Flea Market Flip. Love your channel ❤️
How creative and talented you are 😊 Wish I had these skills.
Incredible 😍 btw your makeup is on point 😍 definitely need a tutorial for that
