Im just putting random numbers in some times
A lot of Zamazenta sets I see dont go max speed because Zama is alteady insanely fast and only EV to outspeed val/etc. Is that even good? Where would the other EVs go?
I usually go for 385 speed and have 100 or so EVs into attack which helps with Tera steel heavy slam vs val, if I remember correctly. I run body press, heavy slam, crunch, iron def. The extra investment into attack sometimes lets me 2hko gholdengo with crunch depending on what their spread is Whatever speed EVs allow for 385, 252 hp, dump the rest into attack. I'm not saying that this is optimal but it's been pretty effective for me. I'm not an amazing player/builder. I love Zama though. Crazy stats and with healing wish support, you can bring it back late game as a surprise when the opponent might have counted it out and let their checks disappear. I especially like to do this after it's been burned or something.
Thanks so much for the support! :D I chuckled when I saw that Specs Gambit thumbnail... definitely not viable put pretty hilarious. I could see someone getting very angry when their Skarmory eats a big Dark Pulse.
The greatest concern for your team is Galarian Slowking. The fact that the best way you can take advantage of it is Weavile, is quite concerning. It will enter on Sylveon quite freely and most of your team struggles against it. Your most replaceable pokemon is Volcarona, I'd recommend removing it for something that helps more against Glowking and Garg.
Pinkacross, what’s your opinion on Healing Wish over Protect on Alo? Sometimes I feel like it just survives into too late in the game, and it just doesn’t provide as much utility anymore. For that reason, I started using Healing Wish, to sacrifice Alo when necessary, and guarantee healing a battered teammate
I think if you have in your team Pokémon with a strong late game like gambit or a energy booster speed, the free switch and healing could be a very nice trade to do In any other way you're sacrificing a teammate and you need to compensate for that, if you can't give yourself an inmediate advantage with it then isn't worth it
Very interesting! Lots of good stuff here but you're never going to break a stall team, I'd recommend adding a dedicated breaker or enhance Meowscarada with SR + more pivots.
Could you make a video of how to build balance teams in OU right now? I have tried multiple times in the past but they keep tanking my elo and i keep having to get my elo back with offense later
Question, I wanted to also use clodsire on balance but even with the edited team you have (which is amazing btw) I feel that it still struggles with Wellspring, potentially Kyurem and Gliscor (can knock your mons and spike up) what mons do you think could suffice for dancing around these threats?
What do you think of swapping the Kingambit’s ability on team 1 to Defiant, so that it serves as a bit of a defog deterrent ala a spin blocker? Or is Supreme Overlord just too good to pass up?
@@jamesmattila-hine1133 yeah typically those are the ones I’m having trouble with. I’ve resulted in trying to burn with Alo and then using Skarm to essentially pp stall.
@lelandwhitehead56 the best way I've ever found to deal with them is a solid special attack. It's probably the only way if I'm honest. If you could fit a flamethrower Thunderbolt on your team that should at least hurt them enough to make them run away. What's your current team?
Hey Pinkacross! Love your content. I think body press archa does go hard, but I'm running Stomping Tantrum on it. I noticed most stall teams run a lot of water types, and only clod as an anti-electric. My calcs say it's a guaranteed OHKO after rocks/spikes, and it also eliminates the risk of guessing if I should electro shot against toxapex, since ST gains double damage. Maybe my calcs are wrong, but I think it's cool. What do you think? I know archa is banned, but I'm using this in Natdex OU, and stall teams are still very cookie cutter, just with the addition of Mega-Sableye
Thank you for the submission! This is an interesting hazard stack, but it worries me that your Knock Off absorber is a specially defensive Clefable. This can be broken fairly easily by Great Tusk HLR, Meowscarada Flower Trick, and even PP stalled by Gliscor EQ. SpDef Clefable stops very few Knock Off users, so against opposing Hstack you may have some rough MUs.
I LOVE semi-rain, such a cool playstyle. Trying to perfect it rn actually. This looks very cool overall! I do wonder if there's some way to replace Skarmory though, seems like a bit of a momentum drain. Also I'd go Volt Switch over Hard Press on Treads, having Pivot moves is great with Specs Peli since it really struggles to enter.
Boss, in another video you mentioned starting a team with a solid breaking core. Could you elaborate on this? How do you create one? How do you know when the offense of the core is sufficient enough
There are many ways to create a solid breaking core. Hazards + a really good knock off user, pivots + a wallbreaker, setup sweepers that wear down certain things to allow for other setup sweepers to sweep, etc. You know the offensive core of a team is sufficient when your team can break stall. If you can't break stall, some balances will wall you as well.
Thanks for the submission! I'm not a huge fan of Tera Ice Rillaboom, Tera Grass Glide gets a TON of kills, and 1-shots defensive Gliscor with Tera Grass Wood Hammer. I also think Magnezone is quite bad, unfortunately. The lack of hazards is not ideal either, I recommend replacing Magnezone for a defensive Heatran and switching Rillaboom to Tera Grass.
@@pinkacross2042 Actually my primary concern for tera ice wasn't Gliscor but Tera Dragon Dondozo and other defensive grass types found on stall like Amoonguss and Hydrapple. But thanks for the advice, I'll do what you suggested.
@@soumyaukil9354 Amoonguss lost Spore and now has almost 0 usage, Tera Dragon Dondozo hates SR + U-turn chip and Knock Off (which you'll have with Heatran) and Hydrapple also hates Uturn+ Knock Off + SR chip. Those are also bulkier pokemon so you'll have plenty of time to breakt hose teams.
I really liked everything in this video and learned so much about the game and the overall meta. Thank you for making this I would love to watch more !
One day these teams are gonna get countered by like, Rivalry Scarf Haxorus or literally anything with Rivalry I mean not really but it's still funny to imagine the idea of "Well, this is a top player who knows their stuff, so Rivalry Pyroar it is!"
It is a hilarious concept indeed-- but the issue there is that so many pokemon are genderless (and you get the .75x against those) that rivalry is rarely worthwhile

@@05tulloh Thanks for the submission! I can't rate teams other than OU though-- I can comment on them but I don't have nearly enough metagame experience to provide helpful rating since I don't play those tiers.
@@pinkacross2042 It makes sense. AAA seems to be at a very inflated power level right now, and while I find the tier very fun, the amount of viable threats is not too varied (probably around two thirds of OU?). But more importantly, a video on an OM would probably do much worse in the algorithm, so it would be best to tackle it later
Kyurem has no counters outside of very specific niches. So Kyurem shouldnt make a team unviaiable. Glowking can check it decently, Meow outspeeds the non scarf variant and can either knock its specs or its loaded dice, severly crippling it. I wouldnt say the Kyurem matchup is horrible for the first team. But its Iron Valiant matchup is way worse than its Kyurem matchup, basically, Booster Valiant can beat its entire team depending on its set. Moonblast + Psyshock can beat everything if glowking is weakened, especially because it can encore Skarmory into any move it has and grab a free boost. Even tho Clod is unaware it loses if not tera dark or steel.
Thank you for these thoughts, but I must say I completely disagree with this analysis. Having Glowking as a the sole Kyurem switch-in, and nothing other than a Rotom-Wash (which cannot touch the Kyurem) as an Ice resist is definitely not acceptable. The Iron Valiant matchup is, in my opinion and in my testing, nowhere near as difficult as the Kyurem matchup. Glowking + Clodsire can shut down almost every single Iron Valiant set out there.
Thank you for the submission! Given that you have a hazard stack with no Knock Off user, I would 100% recommend Knock Off over Superpower on Wellspring.
Very rare. Those are the teams that dominate ladder and tournaments, and even knowledge of the team doesn't make it easier to beat. I've made some in my time but I wouldn't even say all of my #1 peaking RMTs were in the 9-10 range, some were 8s.

Finally I see someone else with Tera dragon skarmory
@AdamEvreuklovic This is probably the best Skarmory set in the current metagame. You can pair it with Gholdengo and Dragapult switch-ins.
@AdamEvreuklovic Yes, given the lack of Dragapult switch-ins this team is not ideal--probably I'd transition this into an HDB spam with gliscor.
hey pinka, i've been using this squad quite alot but it has some glaring weaknesses like garg and lando. the idea is anti offence with court change. not sure what rapid spin is doing tho, but i like double removal.

@@jacksonpolley711 It does indeed. Pretty bad sadly, due to Libero not working how it did before. If it still worked how it did in gen 8, SD Ace would be busted.

Btw I hope u can make a guide on how to ev properly. Im just putting random numbers in some times
Thanks for the submission! And yes I'll be making a video on that soon!
A lot of Zamazenta sets I see dont go max speed because Zama is alteady insanely fast and only EV to outspeed val/etc. Is that even good? Where would the other EVs go?
You probably could remove some speed from Zamazenta and put it into HP. Definitely don't just outpace Valiant though, you'll want to outspeed Darkrai.
I usually go for 385 speed and have 100 or so EVs into attack which helps with Tera steel heavy slam vs val, if I remember correctly. I run body press, heavy slam, crunch, iron def.
The extra investment into attack sometimes lets me 2hko gholdengo with crunch depending on what their spread is
Whatever speed EVs allow for 385, 252 hp, dump the rest into attack. I'm not saying that this is optimal but it's been pretty effective for me. I'm not an amazing player/builder. I love Zama though. Crazy stats and with healing wish support, you can bring it back late game as a surprise when the opponent might have counted it out and let their checks disappear. I especially like to do this after it's been burned or something.
thoughts on the meta threat of specs gambit?
Thanks so much for the support! :D
I chuckled when I saw that Specs Gambit thumbnail... definitely not viable put pretty hilarious.

@@pinkacross2042 Thanks I'll make the changes
Pinkacross, what’s your opinion on Healing Wish over Protect on Alo? Sometimes I feel like it just survives into too late in the game, and it just doesn’t provide as much utility anymore. For that reason, I started using Healing Wish, to sacrifice Alo when necessary, and guarantee healing a battered teammate
I think if you have in your team Pokémon with a strong late game like gambit or a energy booster speed, the free switch and healing could be a very nice trade to do
In any other way you're sacrificing a teammate and you need to compensate for that, if you can't give yourself an inmediate advantage with it then isn't worth it
This is a solid strategy, and I think it can work well sometimes. Particularly if Alomomola is on a more offensive team.
My first team I've made in awhile that I actually like playing with and think its pretty good. I would love to see your feedback on it! :)

Yes, this will definitely be a video sometime soon.

Question, I wanted to also use clodsire on balance but even with the edited team you have (which is amazing btw) I feel that it still struggles with Wellspring, potentially Kyurem and Gliscor (can knock your mons and spike up) what mons do you think could suffice for dancing around these threats?
Team you're referring to is quite outdated, probably it just can't handle those threats with their current sets very well
@@pinkacross2042 aww mann, what adjustments could you make or what balance team would you have with a clodsire??
What do you think of swapping the Kingambit’s ability on team 1 to Defiant, so that it serves as a bit of a defog deterrent ala a spin blocker? Or is Supreme Overlord just too good to pass up?
Supreme Overlord is FAR too good to pass up. Defiant should never be run, I would say. Defog is quite rare this generation as well.
@@pinkacross2042 I've been playing with the team and am having a noticeably hard time against Corviknight. Any suggestions?
@@lelandwhitehead56I'm assuming it's a iron defence body press variant
Stomping Tantrum Arch sounds like a cool tech! I'm not too knowledgeable about Natdex but I will likely branch out in the future!

@@jenabelchan1479 Nice! :D

Glad you enjoyed it! There will definitely be more like this, this is an ongoing series with 2 other similar videos! :]
One day these teams are gonna get countered by like, Rivalry Scarf Haxorus or literally anything with Rivalry
I mean not really but it's still funny to imagine the idea of "Well, this is a top player who knows their stuff, so Rivalry Pyroar it is!"
It is a hilarious concept indeed-- but the issue there is that so many pokemon are genderless (and you get the .75x against those) that rivalry is rarely worthwhile
Great idea btw, do you plan on making more of these? they help a lot when it comes to team building
Yes I certainly will make more of these, it's a continuing series! There are a total of 3 up right now.
Hey Pinkacross!! Can we get a video on how to make the team immune to stall ( natdex) ?
I don't play natdex but you can learn some applicable methods in my OU stallbreaking video! Check the "teambuilding guides" playlist

Primarina has the speed EVs so she can get the jump in Skarmory and other passive mons. Meow is banded since otherwise, this team can struggle with immediate power. Still, I find myself wishing I switched it back to a boots set... idk. Two choice item mons can feel limiting 😅

The core for my team is Hoopa-U+Zapdos since Zapdos can punish U-turns and hoopa can benefit from paralysis. I added Alo for wish support on Hoopa-U so it lives longer and the rest is just there to stop threats. Are there anything I could do to improve the team?

Do you do OMs? I like AAA
At the moment I do not. They seem fun though!
Bro i reached the 1600s and everyone is running stall
Haha yea that'll happen
Stall is everywhere at higher ladder, ive found.
@@sptflcrw8583 Indeed.
Is volcarona Uber? Bc everytime I try to add it to my team it says illegal
Yes, it's Uber

Ogerpon wellspring has knock off instead of superpower*
Thank you for the submission! Given that you have a hazard stack with no Knock Off user, I would 100% recommend Knock Off over Superpower on Wellspring.
@@pinkacross2042 thanks bro, I remember giving it superpower when archaladon was in the tier but the I switched it to knock off
Commenting for the algorithm. Keep on killing it, dude.
Thanks! :D
Nice analysis, curious to see what a 9 or 10 looks like 👀
Very rare. Those are the teams that dominate ladder and tournaments, and even knowledge of the team doesn't make it easier to beat. I've made some in my time but I wouldn't even say all of my #1 peaking RMTs were in the 9-10 range, some were 8s.
@@pinkacross2042 yeah of course skill is more important, but I’m interested in what you think is a borderline flawless team in this metagame
@@DGreatDane When I see one, I shall feature it! :]
Hey Pinkacross, is there a reason you made Primarina female? Is it for Cute Charm or something?
Lol
Yes indeed!
How do i submit my teams?

More to come!
Will you rate mt two AG teams? Also can you give me tips to make then OU allowed without breaking the main strategies (but changing pokemon like hoopa)?
