    i find it interesting how stall isn’t too common to find on the ladder in this metagame, yet good teams still require an answer to it

      @@tazabstrakt2432imo one of the best ways to break through stall is literally having a glowking with future sight+ chilly and a very strong offensive mon that can pressure the most common stall mons. I usually go for strong banded physical mons to pair it with because most of the stall mons don’t really want take a future sight AND whatever strong move is about to come out. Kyurem is a slow Ice type Pokémon with no particular stand out moves. Yeah, Kyurem is a dragon and therefore gets Draco Meteor, but you have Dragonite and Garchomp for that. And note those are OU mons. Base 95 may be relatively fast but it is slow for Ubers.
      In Gen 8, it got Substitute and Roost. For all Kyurem is an Ice type, it has decent bulk. Therefore, it can repeatedly make really bulky Substitutes and heal, and furthermore Kyurem has Pressure, so it can PP stall powerful moves with 8 PP max, and Kyurem has Dragon Dance so it can set up.
      This is also not to say that Kyurem is not powerful on an OU sense: it is, and as a legendary Dragon-type it has Draco Meteor, and as a versatile Ice-type it has Freeze Dry, and as a legendary it can learn Earthquake, so nothing is walling Kyurem especially given it has 120 in attack and special attack. This allows it to use NeverMeltIce to have the powerful STAB and good coverage.
      Of course, in Gen 9, it has Scale Shot and Icicle Spear, so it can now set up and hit with Loaded Dice. Basically, somehow Kyurem is now the bulky Ice Pokémon in OU that can just PP stall, wallbreak, stall break, or hit in general super effectively, Choiced or not.

    I laughed out loud at 6:20 or so when your first team you suggested a Kingambit after saying you weren’t gonna pull team members and replace them with kingambits. I understand why, just got a laugh out of it

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад +19

      Yes Kingambit is often a good addition-- in this case since I didn't change the goal or strucutre of the team and I didn't remove any unique pokemon, I considered it within the rules.

    Hi, thanks for reviewing my team!
    I actually used SO MANY TEAMS with the alomomola+glowking core and i wanted to change it a little.
    Fun fact: i actually shared the wrong versions of the team, in fact my rotom-wash had 4 evs in SpA (one shotting the standard gliscor set with an hydropump) and i subbed foul play with pain split (to have a bit of recovery).
    About the kyurem MU: i only faced a couple, both without glowking, so i had no problem with the blizzard spam, but it was one of the scariest mons.
    I actually didn't think about tera fire Meowscarada since it had great utility still, but i'm gonna try it!
    Thanks a lot again, i hope you enjoyed playing with it!

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад +5

      It was a pleasure to play with! The adjusted version is a bit weak to Dragapult so I actually recommend Tera Normal on Alomomola, but overall the team is quite strong!

      @AdamEvreuklovic hi Adam not sure if you meant me but since you asked: one time I was trying knock off walking wake and it worked really well to bait in blissey then take it's boots, it also helped against those unaware guys since you can just spam Draco. One of the first things I used was CB adamant tera ice baxcaliber, he would just about 6-0 stall alone. I like something similar to that with attack booster CB tera fire gouging on my sun team. Trick choice mons always help and there's always trusty hex darts pult or other mixed attackers. If the matchup into stall is good enough you definitely don't need any lucky reads 😉 thanks for the question Adam

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад +1

      You probably could remove some speed from Zamazenta and put it into HP. Definitely don't just outpace Valiant though, you'll want to outspeed Darkrai.

    • @Holeinshoo
      @Holeinshoo 8 месяцев назад +1

      I usually go for 385 speed and have 100 or so EVs into attack which helps with Tera steel heavy slam vs val, if I remember correctly. I run body press, heavy slam, crunch, iron def.
      The extra investment into attack sometimes lets me 2hko gholdengo with crunch depending on what their spread is
      Whatever speed EVs allow for 385, 252 hp, dump the rest into attack. I'm not saying that this is optimal but it's been pretty effective for me. I'm not an amazing player/builder. I love Zama though. Crazy stats and with healing wish support, you can bring it back late game as a surprise when the opponent might have counted it out and let their checks disappear. I especially like to do this after it's been burned or something.

      The greatest concern for your team is Galarian Slowking. The fact that the best way you can take advantage of it is Weavile, is quite concerning. It will enter on Sylveon quite freely and most of your team struggles against it. Your most replaceable pokemon is Volcarona, I'd recommend removing it for something that helps more against Glowking and Garg.

    Pinkacross, what’s your opinion on Healing Wish over Protect on Alo? Sometimes I feel like it just survives into too late in the game, and it just doesn’t provide as much utility anymore. For that reason, I started using Healing Wish, to sacrifice Alo when necessary, and guarantee healing a battered teammate

    • @jonnysensei2200
      @jonnysensei2200 8 месяцев назад +4

      I think if you have in your team Pokémon with a strong late game like gambit or a energy booster speed, the free switch and healing could be a very nice trade to do
      In any other way you're sacrificing a teammate and you need to compensate for that, if you can't give yourself an inmediate advantage with it then isn't worth it

      This is a solid strategy, and I think it can work well sometimes. Particularly if Alomomola is on a more offensive team.

      @lelandwhitehead56 the best way I've ever found to deal with them is a solid special attack. It's probably the only way if I'm honest. If you could fit a flamethrower Thunderbolt on your team that should at least hurt them enough to make them run away.

  • @zacmayes2802

    Hey Pinkacross! Love your content. I think body press archa does go hard, but I'm running Stomping Tantrum on it. I noticed most stall teams run a lot of water types, and only clod as an anti-electric. My calcs say it's a guaranteed OHKO after rocks/spikes, and it also eliminates the risk of guessing if I should electro shot against toxapex, since ST gains double damage. Maybe my calcs are wrong, but I think it's cool. What do you think?
    I know archa is banned, but I'm using this in Natdex OU, and stall teams are still very cookie cutter, just with the addition of Mega-Sableye

      Thank you for the submission! This is an interesting hazard stack, but it worries me that your Knock Off absorber is a specially defensive Clefable. This can be broken fairly easily by Great Tusk HLR, Meowscarada Flower Trick, and even PP stalled by Gliscor EQ. SpDef Clefable stops very few Knock Off users, so against opposing Hstack you may have some rough MUs.

I do wonder if there's some way to replace Skarmory though, seems like a bit of a momentum drain. Also I'd go Volt Switch over Hard Press on Treads, having Pivot moves is great with Specs Peli since it really struggles to enter.

    Boss, in another video you mentioned starting a team with a solid breaking core. Could you elaborate on this? How do you create one? How do you know when the offense of the core is sufficient enough

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад

      There are many ways to create a solid breaking core. Hazards + a really good knock off user, pivots + a wallbreaker, setup sweepers that wear down certain things to allow for other setup sweepers to sweep, etc. You know the offensive core of a team is sufficient when your team can break stall. If you can't break stall, some balances will wall you as well.

      Thanks for the submission! I'm not a huge fan of Tera Ice Rillaboom, Tera Grass Glide gets a TON of kills, and 1-shots defensive Gliscor with Tera Grass Wood Hammer. I also think Magnezone is quite bad, unfortunately. The lack of hazards is not ideal either, I recommend replacing Magnezone for a defensive Heatran and switching Rillaboom to Tera Grass.

AAA seems to be at a very inflated power level right now, and while I find the tier very fun, the amount of viable threats is not too varied (probably around two thirds of OU?). But more importantly, a video on an OM would probably do much worse in the algorithm, so it would be best to tackle it later

    Kyurem has no counters outside of very specific niches. So Kyurem shouldnt make a team unviaiable. Glowking can check it decently, Meow outspeeds the non scarf variant and can either knock its specs or its loaded dice, severly crippling it. I wouldnt say the Kyurem matchup is horrible for the first team. But its Iron Valiant matchup is way worse than its Kyurem matchup, basically, Booster Valiant can beat its entire team depending on its set. Moonblast + Psyshock can beat everything if glowking is weakened, especially because it can encore Skarmory into any move it has and grab a free boost. Even tho Clod is unaware it loses if not tera dark or steel.

    • @pinkacross2042
      @pinkacross2042  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you for these thoughts, but I must say I completely disagree with this analysis. Having Glowking as a the sole Kyurem switch-in, and nothing other than a Rotom-Wash (which cannot touch the Kyurem) as an Ice resist is definitely not acceptable. The Iron Valiant matchup is, in my opinion and in my testing, nowhere near as difficult as the Kyurem matchup. Glowking + Clodsire can shut down almost every single Iron Valiant set out there.
