Great to see my favorite basketball player of all time inducted into the Hall of Fame! He should have been there sooner. He was a seven time ABA All-Star, and is the ABA's all-time leader in points, 3-pointers, assists, and games played.

Not to downplay his basketball career, but Louie has been an outstanding citizen and businessman since his basketball retirement, reflecting on his true character. He influenced many young ballplayers in Louisville, and then San Antonio, for well over a decade, but his influence as a community leader since then is far larger. We could use many more just like him.

I was in the gym the night Louie scored 20 points in the first 8 minutes of the game against Vanderbilt in 1966. His running jumpers were mostly from a distance that would have been three-pointers. Had the NCAA had a 3-point shot then, he might have averaged close to what Pete Maravich averaged. The Pistol didn't have the outside shooting touch that Louie had. Then, again, maybe nobody else had that touch.

i have mass props for Louie, he came from my hometown. But the Hall needs to forward with its next ABA selection. And if there is a HoF, then either Billy Keller or Freddie Lewis need to be inducted.
