Ok, the actor was Jason Byce, thank you... good research. But many people are missing the point that he is clearly imitating Jethro Clampet from the TV show "The Beverly Hillbillies". That actor, Max Bear, and Jason Byce in this commerical do look similar, and thick accent at a "high scociety" luncheon is right out of the premise from the TV show.

This guy is so memorable from when I was growing up that I actively looked for these commercials (as I’m sure everyone did) but then I read he passed away several years ago. I usually couldn’t care less about celebrities but this guy is different. This one hurt.
I remember this commercial on TV all he time in the 80's. They really do make such good jelly. I use the blueberry jelly as a topping on blueberry pancakes and their cherry, raspberry and strawberry jelly make a great fruit topping on cheesecake

This commercial is enough to make a security guard in the United Kingdom person burst with laughter! 40 years old I am and the most tightly wounded person in my town and this commercial will change that in a second!!! Funny as hell since the age of 7! Amazing! I watch this video in public just to make me look like a laughing clown so I don't come off as so uptight! Great stuff!!!
