That thumb up drill has totally changed my game for the better when i have my left thumb going round and up i strike the ball so much better so thanks a million and keep the instruction coming
So been doing this for about a month. When I actively do this I get rid of my chicken wing. Been trying to get rid of it for years so happy about that. But when I do this I am hitting fades sometimes slices.
Directing the hands and handle/grip under the shoulders coming down in the downswing (like good ball striking tour pros do) is great (encouraged by the ball by your feet you are swinging the handle toward) as opposed to the hands swing out towards the ball to target line with high hands that some (not good) instructors and players think they should be doing.
Tried this drill last night, instantly better contact and very straight shots! I feel like my distance was still lacking though, any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong?
I’m similar ie a leftie playing rightie golf and play all others leftie. I’m curious what eye dominant you are and the impact that has on longer clubs and putting re strike and alignment?
I was taught the complete opposite of this at an American Golf driving range by a pro. I left as soon as my month's worth lessons ran out. Also only hit a 7 iron over 5 lessons with no questions about stats or strengths and weaknesses 😂
In other words: If you're not releasing the clubhead through the hitting area, here's a drill to get you to be more "flippy" at the bottom. Once you get this drill down, we'll teach you how to "hold off" a bit & keep the club "square" to the target line longer through impact! Damn! (Golf is hard!!)
I miss the course vlogs but Mark is second to none at communicating these ideas for me. I like that he’s analytical but has clearly learned the skill of translating it to be usable by the masses.
I'd trust Mark on this one. He does more swing measurement and analysis than just about any instructor. Hack motion, 3D measurement, force plates, you name it he does it.

That’s the best tip I have ever gotten!!
Great drill Mark, works a treat! Straightened my driver out big time. Thank you
Thanks for the drill. During playing my right hand tend to grip the handle too strong and not releasing
Great stuff Mark! Always love these little insights and drills!
Mark’s been putting out some real bangers lately. Nice work Mark! Keep’em comin!
Fantastic video! Thanks Mark.

Same here Mark, I write left handed, throw right handed, golf right handed. I think there's a term for it 🤔...awesome. Awesome is the term.
Totally. That is the term. 😂👍👍
Me too. Throw darts left, cricket ball, discus, stones right
Thanks. Good stuff. This is when you are at your best.
I’m literally sitting here laughing at how on the line those shots are 😂😂 definitely going to give this a go

I love those SRIXON gloves Mark! Just changed them in my golf bag this year! 😀

Another great video! What shoes are those?! I need a pair

And great lesson!
Brilliant!

What weight counterbalance are you using in your 9 iron? It looks like you have a TourLock in there.
What kind of irons are you using. I can see that they are Srixon but which model?
Reminds me of Mike Malaska and his L to L drill.
If you want course vlogs watch good good. Mark teaches us how to beat all those hacks.

Come to USA and play a match with Grant Horvat. that would be fun to watch

I also write lefty and golf righty.

Use to watch Mark's video's without fail, but it feels like he's taken a step back from where he was a year or two ago.
I agree, plus he doesn't do course vlogs anymore
Don't worry about it bruh. Life moves on 👍

Better instruction, less entertainment. I prefer the instruction.

"...write it, waste your time .." 😂😂😂
See this is where I get confused. You get 50% of golfers saying that lead wrist extension is a flip and half saying you need to do this
Are you a hitter or a swinger?

If you lived in the USA you could have been a switch hitter in baseball and have more money than you know what to do with.
Nike shoes?
Yep
Brilliant!
