I am 75 years old, a 7 handicapper and I still shot in the seventies on most of my rounds. I have played this game for about 50 years, never taken a lesson, but read about a golf and watch videos a lot. Danny is the easiest instructor I have ever watch. He keeps it simple, understandable, and well within any golfers ability. He is the only instructor I watch now. Thanks for your videos.
Dude I am a 71 year old man that picked up golf some 6 months ago. I totally sucked at it. I may have gotten 4-6 good shots per 18 holes and can't tell you the amount of balls I used to lose. So I have looked at some of your videos and nothing really clicked. However, this video was absolutely amazing for me. I watched this video 4 or 5 times and practicing your drills. I am going to call it a miracle because I went out today and actually played golf. I only got 9 holes in because of the weather. However, It felt magnificent! I have never hit the ball better, felt good hitting it and totally enjoyed the results. I had 3 birdies, 3pars, one bogie and 2 double bogies. I hope this will continue as I know how fickle this game can be but even if I fall apart again I wanted to thank you for helping enjoy golf for the first time in my life. Thank you Thank you Thank you
@@DanielMaude No you just don't realize how much I improved........It is imperative for every beginning golfer or duffer like myself. I now look forward to my next game. Thank you again
The feel of the body not forcing the club and the follow through going with the momentum of the club weight is absolutely spot on and speaks so much to one of my key faults - another great video, Danny - many thanks!
Agree…..I remember I spent more than a year as a beginner before I start to grasp this…..how I wished I could have known this earlier and thus enjoy golf a lot more earlier….a fan from 🇸🇬
Me too. I went down to the practice ground and tried it. After a few mishits, I began to flush a 7 iron with little effort. Many thanks Danny for a great tip.
I am going to watch this video before every time I swing a club! I’ve watched so many of your videos and have struggled getting the feel of “standing on a screw” or twisting upwards in the backswing. Best feeling swing I’ve had in a long time because of this video! Thanks Danny
Danny, when I discovered your channel I was a 13.5 HC. Today I am a 8.1 HC! There isn’t a doubt in my mind that if I moved to the UK and paid for in person coaching from you, I’d be a scratch golfer, but that would really be expensive! Great channel, Danny!!
This is probably the best instruction video you have published, letting the club drop down and then pushing up on the front leg. This has added power, accuracy and consistancy
This was a great lesson for me, Danny!! I only practiced it for 10 minutes on the range and then took that one swing thought to the course. Used it on every shot. Lots of greens in regulation and furthest approach to pins was only 30 ft, with most under 20 ft. No 3 putts, shot 75 and I’m an 8 handicap! I normally have too many thoughts in my head, so this simplicity is key for me! Thanks again! I’m watching it all again right now!! You are the best!!
Danny, you are a great teacher! I'm a brand new golfer. I was able to straighten out and increase the yardage on my driver shots after watching one of your videos. Visualizing the shot put movements really helped me with the turning of my torso. I had a couple of good tee shots. That one good shot keeps me going back to play golf again and again. :) Thanks again, I'm really enjoying your instructional videos!
Letting the club head do the "work". Great lesson. I find that a good swing thought is that you want the centre of mass in the club head (the sweet spot) to go through the ball. Helps focus on strike and seems to relax the body and allow the club to do the work of displacing the ball as mentioned.
Great tip awesome instructor I golfed 9 holes today and struck the ball great with driver and my irons . What an awesome day of golf. Fun-filled, thanks danny
Great tip! I discovered this on accident and haven’t been able to reproduce that feel because I didn’t know what I did lol. Now I know and will practice these drills to reproduce and maintain that feel. Thanks!
Hi Danny, The last few drills you have posted have helped me sync everything together. Once I get in the zone everything feels natural with the swing, ball strike and follow through. Take care and looking forward to the next lesson
Probably the best piece of advice I went through in the last few months. I realised why my son's swing was faulty; he went with the momentum of the club with his body! Now, I can REALLY help him out. THANKS DANNY!
Danny what an amazing tip, I watched this video and couldn't wait to try it out. I play off a 9 Handicap and went out yesterday and added 15 meters on my drives which went over 250 meters without even changing my swing. Just letting the club fall like you mentioned and let it do all the work was so effortless.......you have changed my game and I definetly will be able to get more greens in regulation with this tip....thanks again......:-)
Watched qll over gold tips and your by far changed my game went from 17 to 10 handicap in 1 month andy driver goes 30 yards further amazing mat3 thanks keep up the good work
Hi Danny, I have played two rounds since watching this video with on thought in my head. " Let the club fall to the ground". My ball striking instantly improved with a different sound coming off the club!!! Applying the idea to the putter is proving a little more difficult but the putts are definitely getting up to the hole. Many thanks. John
For where my game is this has been the best tip for me. I was hitting the ground hard on impact and struggled to get a constant good connection. Watched video several times and only scuffed a few on the range... immediate improvement. I now have something to work on and it feels natural when it all comes together. Thank you Danny
Danny, this was the single best tip I have EVER gotten from you, and there have been a lot! I took this out to the course here in Western PA, where the low temps made the ball not go so far in previous rounds, and I was hitting the ball at least one club LONGER on every shot! It was actually making me giddy to see how much further I was hitting with less effort. I would highly recommend that you focus more on this tip in future videos to amplify what you have taught here, because this is a gem of an exercise. Thanks so much!
This may well be the single best video I’ve ever watched on RUclips. Stumbled across the channel as was looking for beginner golf tips, and when I say beginner I mean yesterday was my first trip up to the local range and my first time even swinging a golf club since my youth. The thing is, when at the range I hit a few good drives and iron shots, but late on in the session I noticed that the best of my shots were when I felt I was ‘loose’ with the club. I wasn’t even sure I knew what I meant by ‘loose’ with the club tbh, I just knew it was I was less stiff in my actions…. That was until I watched this video! Now it makes sense. Absolutely brilliant. I’ve got my first actual round on a 9 hole par 3 coming up, so will be trying to put this into practice.
I belong to ForeHope in Columbus, Ohio, a program that serves neurological problems. I had a stroke almost 8 years ago. I swing the club with my left handed. I used to play right handed before my stroke. My golf pro, Brian Lawson , (who serves as a volunteer) says that all the time. Thanks for the visual strategy on this for all clubs. Keep up the good work.
The way you explain the club falling to the ground and the body opposing the force of the club is very easy to understand. All teaching pros should be learning from you. There is so much bad information being taught That over complicates the swing. Thank you for all you do to make the game fun again!
Danny, you’re exceptional at teaching and explaining the subtleties on hitting a golf ball. This is another fantastic example of your genius. Thanks for that! You certainly know how to make sense of it all. Trust the club and stop forcing it with the body.
That is one awesome lesson Danny. I just grabbed a club and started doing this and OMG, My swing feels SO much smoother. This is an easy one to remember as well. Thank you brother, and keep up your great work👍
As soon as you said the throwing the ball analogy at the end it all hit me i never realized how relaxed my arm was when i through a ball and how the body moves
Best video ever. My home course range was closed today due to rain, but I was able to play 7 holes and my distance on my driver about 25 yards further and flight path was more straight with a straight fade versus a huge slice.
I have probably watched every video Danny has made. They are all well-done and helpful. This one, however, looks like a dramatic game-changer for me. I hope it is for everyone.
I've watched so much golf stuff and just came across you're channel today. By far the absolute best. You coach through video and tech. The way you film movements and just throw in physics examples it just makes total sense. I don't even have to swing a club and I can feel the movements just moving my body enough to say holy cow I'm totally doing this wrong. I golf tomorrow morning, I feel like I can make changes on the fly just by what I've learned! Great job
Dear Danny, I came a few days ago to the very same discovery you mentioned here and I believe I had found the key for my successful swing. But your explanation is 100% more effective and has opened my mind and helps me to see a real chance of a breakthrough to reach a successful swing technique that is consistent and repeatable. Thank you very much for this breakthrough lesson. This is the most effective lesson in Golf that I have ever got.
Danny Maude, the golf coach who keeps on giving! I finally get what you mean about “letting the club to fall to the ground”! Unbelievable improvement with little or no effort. I now need to manage the power and speed generated particularly with the chipping and putting. Many thanks Danny👏👏👏👏👏👏
The way you break the swing down is great - thanks. More demonstration of the " complete " end product, however, add to that and (here at least) be helpful.
Absolutely incredible advice! I’m going to take this to the range today and apply it to my swing. Wish you were in NY so I could learn from you one on one. You have a great way of teaching. Thank you for your channel and the passion you have behind teaching, it really shows.
I've been looking for this lesson again. When I first watched it, I wasn't ready. Now with your other lessons about arm position and loading up the backswing, it makes so much more sense.
Thank you for this video lesson Danny. This is the missing link in my 30 years of golf. Several teachers told me to swing through but did not tell me how. Now you gave the answer. You are the best, thanks
Once again, such a simple idea to remember & put into practice with every club in the bag. From the front-on angles, it is clear to see how the club 'drops' when you 'oppose the force'! I can relate this to a previous lesson where I believe the advice was to turn through the line & 'fire'.
I have been looking for someone video to follow on my way back to my golf from serious brain injury . This gentleman is easy for me to follow with my slow processor. Thanks for your assistance. OReilly
Hi Danny, I'm playing the best golf ever these days with your intuitive and very practical golf methods and techniques, very well explained with greater emphasis on contrast and corrective action. Other golf coaches may teach you the right setup and a drill or two, but you can easily slip back into your old ways and not even be aware of it, cause your body cannot distinguish the difference between right and wrong. Thus, very difficult to correct yourself and get back on track. Always go back to basics I always say.....Thanks for all your support Danny, you truly are a unique Golf Coach 😃
Shot putting drills are wonderful. I do the drills every day. Can’t wait for knee to heal and I can hit balls. This image cures a lot of problems and I appreciate them along with all your videos.
This may very well be the only swing thought required for me on a go forward basis. It's just that good. I started on the putting green. Instantly was able to "feel" my putts for the first time ever. Amazing how I simply rock my shoulders and let the club just fall down and hit the ball. Then I went to the chipping area. I don't even know what to say other than unbelievable. I'm always chunking or skulling my chips. Just letting the club fall and hit the ball - same as on the putts - is revolutionary. Want the ball to go further or in deep rough? Just let the club fall from a higher backswing. Crazy good results. Like with the putting, now able to feel every chip. I was so excited about putting and chipping, sort of ran out of time to hit longer shots. I used to watch numerous different RUclips golf videos but got myself confused. Have decided Danny is the guy for my game. Just love how you compare a golf swing to throwing a ball, or hitting a tennis ball...things I can easily rate to. Keep up the awesome instruction!
Hi Danny, I've been following your lessons for over a year now and I can never wait for Saturday to come for the next piece of the puzzle that makes up the great game of golf. Your knowledge and enthusiasm is a pleasure to listen to and I only wish I lived in England and not in Rome to be able to come over and be coached by Number One. All your drills work the magic if only we could all have more time to put them into practice! Thank you a million times over for the effort you put into your lessons, keep it up! Peter
When you fish with a casting rod you bend your wrist for a cast but immediately after that you stop your wrist so the line flies away from you. Now I understand with golf you apply the same principle by moving your body upwards after the srike. So opposing the power of your strike. Great explanation. Thanks Danny.
Another good video, love your stuff. The ground rotation pitching technique with the standing on the screw lid analogy has changed my game for the better. I find you are the only RUclips teacher who’se teaching actually gets validated when you go for a lesson with a pro instead of rubbished.
Awesome video! This is a golden tip that I'm sure many of us have experienced, but we just couldn't explain what was happening. You broke it down so simply and eloquently.
I watched this video early this morning and tried to apply these principles. I played the best scoring round I've played in a while and finally managed to fit a draw with my driver on purpose!
This is the best explanation in such simple terms, can't wait to to try it out. So far you have helped drop 30 shots and even go under 100 for the first time. Keep them coming.
Danny, what a great lesson!! I had just figured this out for myself about my swing, but you explained it in more detail! Just what I needed! Now my shots are going straight and I'm not tugging or slicing them!! AND, now I understand why I sometimes miss those chips and hit the dreaded "lateral" shot!!!
Thanks Danny this is a brilliant way to look at achieving a more powerful, accurate and effortless swing with any club. I always wondered how the pro’s can play four games in a row with ease, it sure puts a smile on my dial!
Danny, I look forward to your tutorial announcements… from my subscription… you take what most make ‘complex’ and pare it down to simply understanding. Bravo. This session in my opinion is your best. Thank you.
Wow! This is exactly what i was doing a few days ago during several holes with my irons. I will try this drill on the range today. Thank you so much Danny! Have a great weekend.
I actually noticed this yesterday when practicing pitching semi long shots. Worked so much better when I would just let the club fall to the ground and turn through. Why have I not tried this with my full swing?! I actually recall Tiger staying in his book that the only thing he thinks about on his downswing is, “Let the hands fall.” Thanks Danny!
Danny you are a modern day Isaac Newton. Your well on your way to the Royal Society. What feels like a fall is actually allowing the club to seek its inline condition. This as you know is the release. So the club falls but not vertically with gravity but rather owing to centripetal force it falls down plane. The fall is three dimensional as opposed to two. Another great video Danny. Many will find it immediately helpful. Cheers F
Hello Danny. I really appreciate your videos, you have the merit of explaining the why and the how. This is a huge help. I find ypur concept very similar to my first golf book " The swing machine golf" by Paul Wilson. He promoted in his book the key to success is powerless arms and the freely wrists unhinging during the downswing, allowing the club face to return squarely to the ball at impact with maximum club head speed. All the videos I've studied have improved my game. Thank you very much !
This is Golden advice. I've been playing golf for some 40 years and have never actually thought of applying this technic. It absolutely makes perfect sense. I'm off to the driving range tomorrow and launching some golf balls into orbit, I reckon I'll get a couple out around the Moon. Awesome and thanks for the video.
Danny, as always, its so easy the way you explain it. I've been building my swing from several of your tutorials and i'm so enjoying it on the course. When i win the lottery I'm coming down for some more lessons. Keep it up...
As usual absolutely simple and brilliant. I putt one handed and almost never three putt. I can also see the line better without my left shoulder in the way. Resisting is a fantastic thought Danny. Genius.
I applied this advice to my round this morning, and have to say WOW. Drives were significantly straighter and further; normally I struggle to break 200 yards, and more often than not, the ball goes hooking or slicing into the rough (or a parallel fairway). Straighten up, think about resisting the pull of the clubhead during release and impact, and the ball flies straight (albeit sometimes to the left or the right, if I'm lined up wrong or the ball was too far forward/back in my stance), and super far. I easily cleared 230 with the wind at my back on one tee shot!
Danny you’re the man! Started golfing about 9 months ago and watching your videos have helped me tremendously. Went from shooting 100+ to 88’s. Not fantastic but its progress. Keep up the good work! Mahalo from Hawaii 🌴
Best video ever. Reaffirms my own swing feelings. I try to contral the club head only with my body, arms and hands. I want to make the golf swing as if there was no club shaft at all. Just the grip and club head. Nothing in between. I want to just feel the weight of the club head during the swing. It seems to work. Thank you for your training videos.
Was not happy with my swing because to make it work it felt tight and had no flow. This resonated and gave me a sense of what I sensations and feel I should have. I have now been to the golf range twice this week and it has made such a difference to the flight of the ball and distance.
Danny I wish that I had seen this video before I played yesterday. It was a roller coaster round mixed with good bad and terrible. For the 3rd week in a row I put a ball in thre drink behind the green on the (Par-4 16). I played the 16th & 17th well. Standing on the 18th I said to my partner that I was going to have 5-points. I was totally relaxed and thought I would have a bit of fun after my comment. My tee shot was just short of the green (Par-3). My Chip was a good one, just missed going in the hole (5-Pointer) and finised up 18-inches away. I tapped in for a 3 (4-points) After seeing the video this morning I must have followed your instructions but didn't know it at the time. Another trip to the back yard this week for more practice, Thankfully My putting has always been good, very wristy just like you showed. It was one the thing that I could always rely on. Thank you once again.
Wowsher. I have played golf nearly 20 years. Resisted lessons for the first 4-5 years with a bad slice… got a lesson and wasn’t able to hit the ball at all. A few teachers later sort of helped but only time did I start to understand the principles of the golf swing. I’m a 3 handicapped now and have watched a lot of you tube lessons but this is definitely one of the best conceptual explanations of golf that truly makes sense to me. I’m not sure I would really get it as a beginner but I already feel like I’m going to add more powers to my game. Looking forward to cranking it at next practice with the hope to be powerful but smooth
I would like to thank you Danny. I went playing on course just after watching your video. I Never experienced this feeling during an entire round. I went from 3 to 10 GIR. Unfortunately my chipping and putting were so poor. Have a nice day
Thank you. All of your videos are great. Very helpful general principles that the average player can grasp rather than being buried in minutiae. A common theme is properly utilizing the wrists. Thats something that Ive neglected, but is very important for a 56 year old like myself whose body doesnt move like it used to. Hopefully I'll be able to play like Old Man Pat when Im his age.
Wow. This is probably the most unique and impactful golf swing tip I've ever heard.

Pleasure Michael all the best
The way you break the swing down is great - thanks.
More demonstration of the " complete " end product, however, add to that and (here at least) be helpful.
This is, by far, the most helpful and insightful tip I have ever heard. Thank you Danny!
Really happy to help William
Absolutely incredible advice! I’m going to take this to the range today and apply it to my swing. Wish you were in NY so I could learn from you one on one. You have a great way of teaching. Thank you for your channel and the passion you have behind teaching, it really shows.
Pleasure, all the best
I've been looking for this lesson again. When I first watched it, I wasn't ready. Now with your other lessons about arm position and loading up the backswing, it makes so much more sense.
Happy to help Roli 👍
This is my exact swing I’ve been trying to correct! You’re the first to explain it’s a positive. I think I’ll stick with it
Have fun Oj
Thank you for this video lesson Danny. This is the missing link in my 30 years of golf. Several teachers told me to swing through but did not tell me how. Now you gave the answer. You are the best, thanks
Really happy to help Nico
Easily the best tip I’ve ever seen. This has had a huge impact on my golf swing. Thank you!
Really happy to help
Once again, such a simple idea to remember & put into practice with every club in the bag. From the front-on angles, it is clear to see how the club 'drops' when you 'oppose the force'!
I can relate this to a previous lesson where I believe the advice was to turn through the line & 'fire'.
Love this. Emphasis on “feel” is right on the money. When I play well the swing feels natural. Excellent lesson Danny. Many thanks.
Awesome, thank you!

I have been looking for someone video to follow on my way back to my golf from serious brain injury . This gentleman is easy for me to follow with my slow processor. Thanks for your assistance. OReilly
Your energy is super. Your details and explanations are just too good. Love you for that
Thanks so much for the support
Hi Danny, I'm playing the best golf ever these days with your intuitive and very practical golf methods and techniques, very well explained with greater emphasis on contrast and corrective action. Other golf coaches may teach you the right setup and a drill or two, but you can easily slip back into your old ways and not even be aware of it, cause your body cannot distinguish the difference between right and wrong. Thus, very difficult to correct yourself and get back on track. Always go back to basics I always say.....Thanks for all your support Danny, you truly are a unique Golf Coach 😃
Thanks so much for the feedback I really do appreciate it
Shot putting drills are wonderful. I do the drills every day. Can’t wait for knee to heal and I can hit balls. This image cures a lot of problems and I appreciate them along with all your videos.
Probably one of the best golf tips I have seen on RUclips and I have seen a lot of them. Thank-you.
Really happy to help Michael
Peter
Thanks so much for taking the time to feedback, I really appreciate it
Danny you should come to Italy for a clinic! You are the best! There are many fans of you here.
So good to know the lessons are helping Alan 🤜🏻🤛🏼
Danny this brings so much of the chipping and swing work together. It’s crucial and brilliantly communicated. Thanks 👍🏼
This makes so much sense. I know this is my failure in golf, following the ball. Can't wait to try this.
Have fun Jeff, all the best
Awesome video! This is a golden tip that I'm sure many of us have experienced, but we just couldn't explain what was happening. You broke it down so simply and eloquently.
I watched this video early this morning and tried to apply these principles. I played the best scoring round I've played in a while and finally managed to fit a draw with my driver on purpose!
Brilliant William well done 🏌️♂️👍
This is the best explanation in such simple terms, can't wait to to try it out. So far you have helped drop 30 shots and even go under 100 for the first time. Keep them coming.
Thanks Tom, all the very best
Danny, what a great lesson!! I had just figured this out for myself about my swing, but you explained it in more detail! Just what I needed! Now my shots are going straight and I'm not tugging or slicing them!! AND, now I understand why I sometimes miss those chips and hit the dreaded "lateral" shot!!!
Brilliant happy to hear it Judy 👍
Thanks Danny this is a brilliant way to look at achieving a more powerful, accurate and effortless swing with any club. I always wondered how the pro’s can play four games in a row with ease, it sure puts a smile on my dial!
Thank you Danny, this has to be your best tip ever. It removes all tension from the swing, well it did for me,and improves the strike unbelievably.
That’s awesome Robert 👍
This lads videos are absolute textbook, use all his tips to correct my swing as they are so clear and simple. Keep it up m8. 👌👌
Thanks for taking the time to feedback Christopher
Best advice thank you I’ve been doing that with bunker shots lately and it changed my bunker game completely
Make sense to use it everywhere
Love it
Your changing me on a daily basis Danny. thanks for everything. Hopefully be back in the high 80's real soon.
You are very welcome Kham, all the best
You are very welcome, really happy to help
That vedio was awesome. Thank you Danny!! Totally helped me understand how to let the club do its work.
This is the first time I’ve started to grasp how the arms need to work. Thank you!
Pleasure Jag!
I have only done a couple of strokes in the backyard but you sir solved my swing issue straight away
Brilliant tip Danny, love it.
Appose is not a word. Oppose! Opposite! Opposition!
Keep up the great work
Thank you Chris yes that was an oversight on our half
This is Golden advice. I've been playing golf for some 40 years and have never actually thought of applying this technic. It absolutely makes perfect sense. I'm off to the driving range tomorrow and launching some golf balls into orbit, I reckon I'll get a couple out around the Moon. Awesome and thanks for the video.
Literally spent an hour trying the let it drop solution and it's the cleanest I've hit the balls consistently
That’s brilliant
Out of curiousity how do you combine the relaxed approached with distance.....
Your split hand drill a few weeks ago has been a complete game changer for me and set up this motion, but now I actually understand it. 😊
Danny, you tips of natural swings are fantastic, especially on short games,
Glad you are enjoying the videos Chee
Danny, as always, its so easy the way you explain it. I've been building my swing from several of your tutorials and i'm so enjoying it on the course. When i win the lottery I'm coming down for some more lessons. Keep it up...
Great to hear Gordon, keep it up 👍
As usual absolutely simple and brilliant. I putt one handed and almost never three putt.
I can also see the line better without my left shoulder in the way. Resisting is a fantastic thought Danny. Genius.
Love the fact that you are putting one handed Allan.
Danny I love your videos. I practiced your chip and short pitch tips in the yard yesterday and it was magical. Can't wait to practice this.
That’s great Bill, thanks for sharing
Was not happy with my swing because to make it work it felt tight and had no flow. This resonated and gave me a sense of what I sensations and feel I should have. I have now been to the golf range twice this week and it has made such a difference to the flight of the ball and distance.
Great lesson. I tried doing this today with great results. I was able to hit the ball straighter an d further. Thanks Danny.
Love to hear how you get on
Has to be one of the best golf videos on RUclips 👏👏
Really kind, hope it helps
Thank you 👍
I would like to thank you Danny. I went playing on course just after watching your video. I Never experienced this feeling during an entire round. I went from 3 to 10 GIR. Unfortunately my chipping and putting were so poor. Have a nice day
That’s awesome to hear well done
I think we would all love to do that Christopher
I would spend money for this piece of information. Incredible knowledge. Danny love how technical you get. Please keep up the great work! 👌🏼
Thanks for the taking the time to feedback Dimitris
U talk too much complicated,
The best thing about Danny's channel is how he emphasises movement in the swing. He makes it simple too.
@@fransbernard6772 haven’t been called complicated before but happy to keep improving
@@Jazzman874 thanks for the feedback
Best coach on youtube, by far.
