- From the English translated version of Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru, with the UmiTweak patch applied (PS3 sprites, voice acting, etc.) The epic battle of the Golden Land! Furudo Erika (with a pirate hat) invades the Golden Land with her ships and goat army, Beatrice performs some masterful acting, Battler, Ange and Lambdadelta moves in to take back the gold key to the cat box inside the City of Books, Kinzo pinches Gohda repeatedly, Bernkastel realizes she has no friends, Rosa activates her badass mama bear form, the Ushiromiya family members and all the fantasy characters are being awesome in general, etc. etc.
Suffice it to say, this segment of Episode 8 is great, and the music for it all is amazing. And yes, it turned out to be a long video.
The Lambdadelta vs Bernkastel duel technically takes place alongside the last part of this, but I didn't want to include it since I already have a video of that fight uploaded separately.

Why not Shaft though? I feel like Ufotable would fuck up the finer details of the story, unlike Shaft, who is skilled in abstract storytelling and pays attention to the finer details.
It's not like Shaft has worse animation either, as can be seen by Homura vs. Walpurgis Night. Hell, the third Madoka Magica is just full of amazing animation. (Especially a certain fight I will not spoil, which is possibly my favorite anime fight). Hell, even Bakemonogatari had some pretty insane fight sequences in it, and the animation was still extremely smooth and clean.
I don't know how good Ufotable is in the story department, but I doubt they would be able to successfully adapt the symbolism and metaphors of Umineko. If they put the passion of Madoka Magica into Umineko, it would beautiful and amazing.
Honestly, I would rather nail the abstract story and important, little details than have fight scenes that are either marginal greater than, or equal to Shaft's.
@@AsogiMK Yeah, it would have to be a very careful balancing act but I fully believe it is possible if Ryukishi07 actually took the time to help smooth out the script for the writers and made sure it followed the manga more than the visual novel.
I don't think the differences between Madoka and Umineko would matter much in the end though, considering that Umineko becomes so meta to the point where those ideas become solidified in their own visual realm.
I think weaving the metaworld, the game board, etc together would be the hardest part of writing the script. If they could find a way to link it all together and transition smoothly, the rest of the story shouldn't be too hard so long as they follow the manga.
Of course they might have to "dumb it down" a little, but that's to be expected. It's why Ryukishi07 would have to help establish a firm answer and definitively chose what clues he wants present over the course of the show.
Hence why it should lead to to the Shakanon theory being the solution. Scrap the plot contradictions and make sure it all wraps up nicely like Higurashi. Stem the more boring parts if you have to, but don't rush through or cut what's important like the fights and debates.
I think Shaft would also be good in regards to making those scenes not boring though. I mean, if you look at Monogatari, it's mostly still frames and simple character dialogue, yet it's a super interesting and engaging show. If they could use more dynamic animation like Madoka and make that work with the explanations/truths, I'm sure it would keep people engaged. Their trippy art style is perfectly suited for the metaworld in my opinion.
Plus, visual explanantions combined with verbal explanations would make stuff easier to learn.
But I agree; it would be a very delicate balancing act and would need to be well paced.

@@martyr_lightsilver1833 Anybody other than DEEN would be a vast improvement, tbh. I can't recall the studio doing the Higurashi remake, but depending how that goes it could be good. Also the Umineko VN is finished now. When DEEN did their version, it wasn't.

Ah, I just loved this part of the game. It was just an awesome sequence after another.
Also, nothing's quite as hilarious as seeing Lady Bernkastel getting punched in the face.

Shimon Tennessee Already saw this months ago, but nobody knows if this is fake or not. Ufotable hasn't not released any official news regarding this image. Honestly, I think that this is fake, but I really want it to be true. Also, even if this image is real, it doesn't necessarily mean that a series will be a animated. Maybe we are just getting an opening from them, but again who knows. Finally, if this is a joke from someone, I must said that it is a very cruel one.

Well they have picked up where DEEN left off before, one can hope that they will again. We have to remember though that if they did pick it up there is still the likely chance of a botched adaptation.

Just wanna know, is there ANY explanation given for why Bernkastel, Rika, and Erica are all the same person? This is the most baffling thing to me about this whole mythos.
Rika - human girl from Higurashi who was able to be aware of the resetting of the events in Hinamizawa.
Bernkastel - Witch of Miracles, created from the pain of Rika or something, i dont remember. Witches are part of the meta world.
Erika - Bernkastel's game Piece in Umineko (story characters are called pieces). She is a Great Detective (tm) and functions as such.
@@marin0the0magus Erika was actually dead on Rokkenjima before the Massacres actually happened (She washed up on the island, so she likely killed herself, or just died in someway), and was resurrected by Bernkastel as a piece.

You can interpret it both ways tho. But one of those ways actually conforms to the canon solution, and the other way is a scenario where you use mental gymnastics to think that everything Ryuukishi says and does is trying to hide the truth lol
Erika wasn't "killed" with the last bullet as KnowNoMore said. It is later shown that she is alive and well.
@@rjmax3311 I mean, the straightforward interpretation of the trick ending is, I think, the implication that Ange'd adopted Erika's position to cold-hearted (half) truths being all that mattered, so Erika's appearance was a nod to that. By that point Erika had ascended to the status of a witch herself, so she was part of the metaverse.
I think there might be an interesting angle somewhere in there, since off-meta Erika is a character created by Battler and Hachijo (I think? I actually don't remember how her existance was explained off-meta), Erika's intended purpose in the story is to portray the reactionary goat-like speculators that popped up after the news of the Rokkenjima incident and ignored all the nuances in Battler/Hachijo's work and the Ushiromiya family. Ange's life was heavily influenced by such speculators (and in turn, by Erika), so perhaps you can say the symbolism there is that Ange, by relating to Erika, had accepted the harassment and defamation that she and her family recieved during her entire life, and decided to believe that her family was actually shitty. (which, I mean, half truth lol)

If Erika can't deny Rosa being a good mother, then I will. Wasn't there a scene where a neighbor of Rosa and Maria was complaining to Rosa about leaving Maria always alone. She even heard Rosa beat Maria after Rosa threw her outside. And didn't she say that the whole neighborhood saw Maria doing everything on her own? (getting groceries, walking alone at night... etc.) And they also did know the rumors about Rosa going to Hokkaido with her boyfriend. We don't need Maria's diary for this reasoning. Only all the neighbors who witnessed and heard everything. The whole neighborhood knows the truth.

Rosa beats Maria out of anger. Not love. Also there have been made no red truths about Rosa loving Maria. However there are many parts where Rosa is showed to leave Maria all by herself, hit her, yell at her, lie to her, wish she was never born etc.. And ALL witnessed by either the neighbours or Child Protective Services. They have all seen her treat Maria so badly even though she is just an innocent child.
Therefore, with this amount of circumstantial evidence, I can say that *Rosa does not love Maria* as my blue truth.
