This was great! Thank you for validating what I have learned anectdotaly. I started at 405 lbs (BMI 76.5) with HbA1c 9.0, all labs totally out of whack. I couldn't walk, used wheelchairs, used a walker to go 5 ft. to the bathroom, and canes in my room. After COVID hospitalization, I lost 40 lbs on my own. Then a year on Trulicity (lost 86 lbs. and HbA1c went down to 6.0) and now on Mounjaro for almost a year, my HbA1c is 5.1... all labs WNL, even eGFR climbing in last 6 months from 40 to 50 (and yes I know CKD doesn't go away, but whatever I can do to help!). My NASH is healing. I am walking 3+ miles a day. Doing resistance training 3-5 days a week. My life is so different, I cannot recognize myself. DEXA shows my muscle mass is fantastic (that carrying around 400 lbs did something right, didn't it, Dr. Gus?!). And I am down 225 lbs. (BMI 34.0).But best of all, I AM ALIVE! Thank the Universe for GLP-1s!
Congratulations on your success!!!! Love this!!!!🙌
Congrats!!!
Wow! Great job so happy for you. What an incouraging story❤
8 months on compounded semaglutide. My functional med doc uses this for metabolic syndrome, and I initially lost 30 pounds with low carb and exercise after decades of yo yo dieting. I hit a block with weight loss and my blood sugar was not coming down. I was reluctant to go on the protocol, but agreed to try it. Started very low dose and gradually increased to 2 mg weekly, which is effectively helping me lose 4 - 5 pounds a month. I have had some nausea and fatigue, but if I make lunch my main meal and stop eating by 6 pm, I do much better. I’m down another 25 pounds, my fasting blood glucose is 86, and my blood pressure is averaging 113/70. Amazing to have these results at 64 and decades of up and down and progressively getting sicker. The benefits far outweigh the negatives, in my opinion. I have another 30 pounds to go, and I’m staying the course.
Fantastic!! Make sure that you keep exercise in the mix and add in some EAA's (check out the recent interview #246 I just released on them)...long term success is yours!!!
GLP has amazing for other reasons outside of weight loss. In micro doses. Take a 1/3 or the 2.5mg rec. you’ll still see benefits.
This is a good video thanks. It’s reaffirmed all the reasons I’ve started this drug and I don’t need to feel ashamed for accepting the help it offers.
Amazing content! Thanks for informing the GLP 1 community.
This is by far one of the best information I had watched regarding Semaglutide.
Great info and video. Can you please list the supplements he mentioned? I am taking EEAS. What else is needed?
Broadly, Dr Vickery recommends a Good Greens and Reds Powder to cover micronutrients, I think he is formulating a multivitamin but in the interim a good multi vitamin can be helpful to cover your bases. He also recommends a good Fiber supplement like Garden of Life Fermented Fiber.....
@@nathalieniddam9630 thank you for the reply.
This. Was. Wonderful. 🤗👏🏼‼️ I learned so much👍🏼🙏🏼 Thank Yall!!!!!
What would you class as a low dose 2.5mg?
I would love more detailed info on the protocols. How much amino acids? which ones? how much protein? what other nutrient and what amount. I feel like I got a taste of it but don't know how to implement this.
All good questions - if its of any interest to you I am running a GLP1 Support group in my membership community at the moment - its not free but you do get weekly group coaching and guidance. You can maybe reach out to me on Instagram if you are looking for more details
An amazing and informative video, definitely something that everyone on GLP1 or considering starting GLP1 should watch.
Great podcast!
Can you share what are the recommended amino acids/greens that you can recommend? Fatty acids?
I was wondering the same!
Just ingredients has a great protein powder with amino acids.
I took some notes ty
Good information
He mentioned some documents you said you were going to post but I don't see them anywhere. Any idea about that?
We did not get them from him - perhaps try reaching out to his clinic - if they are ready he will share
@@nathalieniddam9630thanks
How do you do training when you’re suffering from arthritis, injuries and vertigo/dizziness? I try but it’s hard to get through the basics of every day chores as it is.
Mounjaro is working for me at 2.5mg 9.5 weeks lost 9.5kg. Carnivore diet with magnesium supplements. Feel so much better. Need to lose another 6kg to reach my goal weight. I don’t want to increase the dose while it’s still working.
So great! :)
The hormones was on point, but never suggested what products for women in menopause what to take! Testosterone for women? What do I ask for?
I have a friend who is obese and has acid reflux. She asked her MD. about ozempic or zepbound type drugs and they decided she shouldn’t take them because they can make these issues worse. Since obesity is one of the main causes of acid reflux, what suggestions do you or others have to help the many people stuck in this catch-22?
Her Drs dont want to help her. POTENTIALLY make it worse is just them guessing. If she gets on a glp and it gets worse guess what, she just stops it. Too much fear mongering about glp medications out here. Too many people misusing them also and yes many do have severe side affects which means the medication is not for you. Ive been on Mounjaro for 19 mos. Down 150lbs … no side effects. Had dexa scan done, my lean muscle mass is perfect and I am 50 but I also am doing weight loss the right way regardless if I was taking a glp med or not anyone on a weight loss journey should be drinking their Water, prioritize protein, walk and strength training. Glp meds are a tool. Her drs should let her try to see if they work or not.
@@shewygirlsome people have severe side effects, not ‘many’. Many people have little or no side effects. You just don’t hear from people without side effects because there is nothing to report.
@@michaelramage73 Many people do have severe side effects on glp meds. I didnt say the majority. I used the correct word MANY…. Because facts are many do have some gnarly side effects. They are all over the fb groups complaining. Again MANY, not the MAJORITY, there’s a difference 😊 and I see MANY or should I say “MOST” … like myself… with mild to no side effects.
Your friend should see an endocrinologist, and get a complete evaluation and he/she should be able to explain all side affects that could be potentially harmful. If your friend starts the medication and it doesn’t help or the acid reflex is worst than they can stop it. The dose starts off very low and increases as your body is able to tolerate it. Your friend has the option of trying it and seeing if it helps. MD in many areas are not as familiar with the benefits of this medication, but an endocrinologist specializes in metabolic disorders.
This is not true. I was told the very same, and have had great success with it. The vital factor is what you eat. If you stay away from greasy fried foods, and eat mostly whole foods, you won’t have the digestive issues. The difference is night and day.
Too.many.ADS!!! wow
Best most informative video I have heard (I’ve listen to MANY) on good protocols while on GLP-1’s.
I am doing well on them, but these definitely are so good to add into my daily healthy living 👍🫶🏻❤️
