    I'd recommend a bi-weave for pve, you can get roughly 2000mj with 60% resistances, 5000+ hull is a good idea too.
    2x 7a banks is pretty much a must on any corvette, you get roughly 6000mj of shields back from them.
    While you're running gimballed, practice flight assist off as the corvette handles even better and if you can master that fixed lasers are more dps and less distributor draw.

    Yes, I love the Vette as well, and no matter how hard I try to get into other ships, engineering whatever I always end up back in the Vette. I have even culled my fleet down to 3 or 4 ships which I hardly seem to use. It is the best all-rounder after the Anaconda and despite my initial love affair with Ana the Vette has everything I need. Combat, exploration, mining, cargo, bounty hunting. I am surprised at how much you can get out of those Guardian shield boosters, Woh! Haven't really gotten into Guardian stuff but after seeing that may have to give it a bit more attention despite what I think is just more grinding instead of valid gameplay! Thanks for the video, good work.

    A no ammo loadout that I run is 2 medium and one large beam laser with heavent and close range they're one class stronger. The medium lasers each have about 25 DPS and the large one has about 35 DPS, if I remember correctly. Then 2 small railguns with plasma slug for anyone who uses chaff and then two huge PA's with plasma slug and overcharged for 'cause they can DELETE larger NPC ships. Very fun and v e r y deadly!

      I use efficient on the huge hard points and they still shred. You get a damage increase, less power usage, the focused uses more power and any armor piercing you get over 75 is pointless. Give it a try, it's pretty good

  • @sidrat2009
    @sidrat2009 3 года назад +2

    I went with the Fixed Beam lasers with long range grade 3 and Thermal Vent - there is no chance of overheating if you stay on target, plus the fixed does more damage and not effected by Chaff spam.
    My main gripe about any build is that the DPS is still way too low to be able to take down target before they decide to FSD out of there, which means the previous few minutes has been wasted.
    What I try to do now in Haz Res sites is to pick the target that already has multiple NPC's shooting them, this allows for a much faster kill rate. Plus as you already know there's no ammo to worry about. You may be nerfing your self needlessly by having gimballed weapons as you're not spending as much time shooting them, but that does mean the ship is cooling down naturally.

  • @droplifter3435
    @droplifter3435 3 года назад +4

    8:00 I've not checked the entire video yet, but why don't you target any sub-systems, when the shields are down?
    If you get a ship's 'POWER PLANT' subsystem to 0%, the ship is destroyed, regardless of what percentage damage is done/remaining.
    EDIT: If you get all of a target's 'DRIVE'(s) to 0%, it's stuck drifting, disabled. You can just sit out of line of sight and take no damage while you finish it off.
    Granted, on small and even medium ships, maybe this doesn't make a difference to you, but surely it does on larger ones?

    I'm doing my Fed ranks in Sophis / Ceos and it is mind numbing (just about up to Post Captain). I think I would be tempted to replace some of the Guardian Shield Reinforcement packages for a couple Guardian Module Reinforcement for buffs. Also I would give the Prismatic shields a try. • @jcdenton1841
      @jcdenton1841 3 года назад +1

      Armored FSD is also a good option for combat ships. A lot of CMDRs - who know what they are doing - will opt to snipe your FSD when your shields drop, even over the Power Plant. Dead FSD = Dead in the water (or space). Many players who go for extended range FSDs in combat ships find out they made a mistake the hard way.

On the fdl I have 4 rapid fire pulses and one huge beam with efficient and thermal vent, everything is g5 and I have 5c biweave with 50 to 70% resistances so I maximize charge over capacity and let me tell u, it's the best of both worlds. Understand that while prismatic will last a long time in CZ and hares, they won't really recharge at all while you're out, you can always reboot repair, but that takes time. And take a long MF time to charge even on a pad. Bi weaves will not drop ever in PVE, and will let you stay out of station indefinitely (ammo permitting)

I just got my prismatic shields so that I can be a little more confidant taking the billion dollar vette into open. I know it's suicide to take it with bi weave in pvp. But for pve, bi weave with 50+% resistances and SCBs is plenty to never have your shields drop even in a solo elite wing mission scenario. Probably wouldn't get off so well in my full spec mamba in a solo wing environment, even though the TTK is way lower with the frag cannons and PA. More of a lack of skill as a pilot than the ship. I think my mamba sits around 2700 absolute with 37% being the lowest of my resistances. Could push it higher but I run chaff for when the fight turns from pursuit to jousting and I struggle to hit the dispersal field PA and rely more on scramble spectrum bursts and frag cannons. Agree with android. I have for example a crusader which I love, with 1500 mjs of shields, which is ridiculous for its size, and the fact that it's a bi-weave generator. But, i dont need shield cell banks and rarely, and i really mean rarely, lose my shields. This was accomplished running gaurdian shield boosters.
      Hell I got a viper mk III with 760 mjs of shields just to say I did it, it's a silly build, and terrible anywhere but a nav beacon, but it's like a mad scientist build.
      Now, if you will allow me to rant a bit further, I have two basic Corvette builds. One with prismatics pushing about 3200 mjs of shields, and the other with biweaves pushing about 3000 mjs. Both are designed to have very high resistances. The prismatics require, require, shield cell banks, while the bi-weaves do not.
      These are not pvp builds, obviously, but rather one, the biweaves, is for pirate massacre missions/gathering mats from said pirates. Most of its internals are dedicated to storage, jump booster, and 9 limpet controllers.
      The other is my personal flagship. Its guns are not meta as with the first I described but rather set up for my own uses, general fun. It sports multiple power play pieces and is best thought of as a showpiece. Bring her out to impress the people, you know how it is, everybody must have two or three like that by now.
      Both ships sport no gaurdian shield boosters simply because you dont need them. 3000 megajuls is three thousand megajuls. With the prismatics, I had more space for random crap, but required way more power. With biweaves pimped out with fast charge, I need no such thing and can concentrate on storage. Honestly the biweave resistance build is what I run on nearly everything at this point.
      Lastly, All my alliance piggys, and other such smaller ships, run gaurdian shield boosters for a little extra oomph. Trying to get them over a thousand. It's a luxury to be sure, but a welcome one in pve.
      /rant.

    Love your vids and your passion for ED, but you're wrong about the Cutter. The Vette is arguably better for pure PvE. Arguably. But the Cutter can be outfitted to have anywhere from 7-11k shields when built properly (base, not including SCBs), and if a CMDR knows how to perform an orbit manuever - where they boost in a direction that would start circling their opponent and go FA off - The Cutter is an absolute nightmare to fight. Some say that only the FDL is "better". All those shields and speed, with the added bonus of never being masslocked by other ships, trumps any deficiency the Cutter has in pitch rate. In fact, the Cutter is THE reason so many people on the forums/reddit are demanding something be done about the current shield meta. With Prisms, boosters and SCBs added, we're talking 20,000mj of shield strength. In a war of attrition, it beats everything.

    IMHO, Not a great build CMDR. First off, GSRP's are a SUPPLAMENT, not a replacement for good shield engineering. Additionally, To run that many GSRP's and lasers, you're overcharging the piss out of the PP which deals with heat poorly and requires some thoughtful heat management or you cook. G5 RF Pulses generate a bunch of heat adding to an already toasty ship. This adds up to unnecessary module damage and a hefty CR100,000+ Repair bill each time you dock. On top of that, once your shields drop, you're left D.O.A. with a wafer-thin hull and a prayer wrote on wet toilet paper.
    Essentially, the more difficult the battle and the longer you're running the lasers, the more S.O.L. you are as the ship runs out of power and begins to fry. The way to beat this ship would be to dance around it for the first half of the battle, and fillet it when it's modules are malfunctioning in the second half.
    I'm not saying this is the be-all-end-all corvette, but this is my full laser PVE / Open Play "Stay in a haz-rez or back-to-back CZ" Build and it's complete and utter overkill: s.orbis.zone/bnz9
    You'll see it's got an OC'd PP but the lasers (even though efficient and TV which is often considered suboptimal) do a fine job of cooling the ship off (both for battle and for SCB's), but independently either the beams or the Pulses can operate indefinitely. The SCB's give my shields ample supplement when they start getting weak (additional 7200+ MJ) and if they go down, good luck plowing through 5,400 hull. Fighter hanger is in there with a pair of fixed multi-cannon condors for added punch but I swap in a Guardian FSD Booster when I want to get somewhere faster/further out or an added Hull Reinforcement if I'm feeling super scared. All while running around 46/47ish MW of power. The point to my build here is to have a full-energy build without power-starving anything or cooking the ship, and still have a meaningful DPS. This will melt anything from a sidewinder to a FGS and takes out an anaconda (Target Power Plant) in about 20 seconds with good flying. It's also a LOT more engineering to get it here, so I understand where your build is coming from.

      Corvette has 3 Class 7 slots to the Conda's 1. That's the main difference. Class 7 shields plus 2 Class 7 SCBs make the Vette edge out the Conda in pure combat. All other differences are negligible (pitch rate, speed, dps, hull, etc., are all very close). The Conda is a better multiclass ship, but the Vette is superior in combat. The only thing that cancels out the advantage in it's shields are cascade rails (which cancel the SCBs).

    and 2 medium beam lasers long range thermal vent to dessipate the heat
    long range ramoves damage falloff and increase wep range to 6 km
    core : A grade all but life support and use millitary grade or reactive surface
    PP overcharged ,PD charge enhanced ,sensor long range
    next is my big issue
