I like how you arranged the hardpoints. It's a method I use myself and have for a long time. Putting all the kinetic weapons on the bottom lets you fire those awkward class 1's at the same time as the class 3 and 4 without having to line yourself up so much to fire the top class 3s. You could do it the other way round and put all the laser weaponry on the bottom. Which makes more sense in some ways since the top hardpoints would have an easier time tracking the leading reticle without having to pitch the ship so much. But unengineered class 4 laser weaponry isn't brilliant. So I would probably agree with your layout.
There are a few things about that build I would change though:
    1. D rate the life support and sensors. As well as lowering the cost, it lowers the power draw. There's no real reason to have either of them A rated. And D rating them serves another purpose which I'll go into later.
    2. Swap out the A class shield for a 7C Bi-weave. Substantially faster recharge, less power draw, and again lower cost. And to make sure the shields aren't weakened:
    3. Change all the B class shield boosters to A class with the power you've saved from downgrading the sensors, life support and shield generator. This will give you slightly more shields than the build you have, with less than half the recharge time. Meaning less shield cell usage over the course of a session.
Other than that, the build is solid. But one last thing I would say to anyone using an unengineered ship with a fighter hanger is GET CREW AND USE THEM! Fighters carry the equivalent of a class 4 weapon in DPS, and act as a way to pull aggro off you. Don't keep a fighter in your bay just on the off chance that you might need to get in it yourself. Use crew. Train them up. Make them a part of your build. You will be glad you did.

I agree... cant recall how many fking times I went toe to toe with Fed Gunships and Anacondas where I did not have a fighter present. He's saved my ass at least a dozen times... pitiful ships like the Fed gunships and Anacondas focusing on something that is a size of a modern car whipping around them like a yo-yo. The only time I have had my fighter die is when I went up to a wing of 3. 1 on 1, my fighter can survive easily... but the 2 on 1 I noticed not as much... but hey, saves 2 or three from shooting me at the same time.

@@JG27Korny Don't have access to guardian stuff... and actually, yes. NPCs or big ships do get distracted by your fighters, but only temporarily. Found this out when I get 3km away from them (or is it 3,000m?). And from what I heard, Guardian fighters are only best used against Thargoids, much like Guardian weapons, don't do much different than standard weapons against other human ships.

My first combat Conda build (pre-engineers) had lightweight non armor too, but B rated power plant and thrusters. D rated life support and sensors. Weapons were fixed cannons underneath, huge and large. Everything else was fixed pulse lasers. No bi-weaves then but A rated class 6 shields with lots of HRPs and a good few B rated SCBs until the rules changed and they started to cook your ship. For utilities mix of A and B rated boosters + chaff, KWS and point defense. Very cheap to kit out, and very cheap rebuy even though I've never needed to rebuy. It would have been around 300mcr if I recall correctly. Obviously now you need heatsinks over point defense and KWS.
It's all changed now though of course the Conda is A rated all round and heavily engineered. But my preference is to have fixed long range beams underneath, huge and large. 2 x small long range railguns, and on the top four efficient PA's. All this can be afforded when you can engineer your ship fully.
After finally ranking up to get the Corvette, I find I don't like it, and still prefer the Anaconda for my default large combat ship.

    • @xBlkPhantomx
      @xBlkPhantomx 4 года назад

Adrian Winters late so you prob figured it out by now. But always pick and choose your battles know what ships you’re fighting and their firepower, some battles aren’t worth engaging especially if you’re alone and your ship is not A rated. Managing your power distribution is a must, know when to dist power to systems, engines, and weapons. Don’t get into a turn battle when you’re fighting in the Conda, you can’t fly it like a smaller ship. Best thing is to reverse and if they go pass you boost fa off and flip around. But fighting a wing of 3-5 (depending on what ships they are) and it’s just you and maybe your fighter if you’re using it, all of their fire power is concentrated on you and it’s only a matter of time before your shields pop especially if they have plasmas or railguns. But focus on one and destroy it fast as possible and move onto the next target. Conda can tank pretty good if shields go, but yeah pick your battles

Money, believe it or not, is the lowest barrier to entry in the game. Even without any of the "gold rush" stuff that pops up now and again. With your 175 million you're comfortable able to buy any number of ships you can use to make some cash using ordinary in game methods.
If you like to trade, a Type 9 can be had for 76 mil (65 with the discount that you can find) and with a build like this: eddp.co/u/nvqD3u5o for 120, if you buy everything full price, which there's no reason to do. That setup will let you get into the top 25% easily on trading community goals, and run normal trade routes worth 10 million an hour or more. If you have some friends, wing missions out of some types of stations (high tech, extraction, refinery) can be extremely profitable with larger ships.
And exploration, with the buff to rewards for data, is one of the more profitable and fun ways to make credits, especially if you enjoy it already. Look for some info about "Road to Riches" routes that commanders have plotted or explained how to find that are rich in earthlike, water, and high metal worlds.

I got my Anaconda when I had around 300 million in assets & used it for passenger missions only until I could afford to A-rate it, engineer it and have plenty left for rebuys. Having said that even now I have plenty of spare credits, I usually go for my engineered Python when hunting in haz-res, because the Anaconda is just such a slug even with grade 3 dirty drives, and even with hundreds of millions of spare credits, a 30 million credit rebuy would suck balls, whereas the 12 million rebuy on the Python is a little easier to stomach. Working on resources for grade 4 and 5 at the moment to see if I can get it to a point where it's enjoyable to fight with.
I agree, getting money isn't too bad once you can afford some of the larger ships - engineering materials grind is much worse - trying to find fucking strange wake solutions - how many damn high energy FSD wakes have I had to fly around scanning to find those? Hours and hours of wasted time...

I was doing mostly hull reinforcements with missles/beam lasers before but keep getting swarmed by small fighters in res sights, hopefully with this build I'll be able to manage. I was also noticing that the canopy gets destroyed very frequently. I was running an AFM to repair mid battle, not sure if thats a smart thing to do. Probably should have focused on shields like you, then I wouldn't be getting hull damage.

Is getting an Anaconda after playing for 2 months considered new? Its probably obvious that I am, but its dumb curiosity. I used to run a Class 4 gimballed beam, class 3 plasma accelerator, 4 turreted class 2 pulse and 2 gimballed class 1 beams. I admit, I had zero heat issues except capacitor depletion. It did a lot of damage, and when I let go of the trigger, my capacitor was always able to maintain the turrets and still recharge. But it still worked nearly like a charm... almost. Now I switched it up for a Class 4 Plasma, Class 3 Gimballed beam, 2 Class 2 Gimballed pulses, 2 Class 2 Gimballed Cannons, and 2 Class 1 Gimballed pulses. I have high hopes for this build, and have yet to test it... I was just a bit... tired of the game for the day. Going around from system to system to spec out a Type 7 I just recently repurchased I think was the problem...
More onto it, on both my original build and my new, my Anaconda is all A rated-ish. 2 heat sinks, 2 point defense, and the rest are 0A Shield boosters. Military armor, 8A power, 7A Thrusters, 6A FSD, 5D Life Support, 8A Power Distributor, 8A Sensors, and Fuel tank is the same. I got a 7A Shield, 2 6A Shield cell banks (I might change these to 6B for more charges, but Idk yet), 6D fighter hangar, and everything else is Hull reinforcements (including the military compartment) except a 1 and 4 are module reinforcements. I can go about 260 meters per hour, and about 330 meters per hour boosting. It has about a 20ly jump, and its maneuverability is not terrible at all... and none of it is Engineered.
Ok... after looking back, I noticed I made a few mistakes on a few things. I can go up to 17.30ly on my jump range, and my top speed is 201, and boost is 268. That is, its my current build... but my first one was able to do 300ish meters per second on a boost, and have a bit more jump range... idk. At best, I spec out with A and D rated things and I just go for it.

I've been playing this game for over a year and I JUST bought an Anaconda a few days ago. Turns out I didn't know how the ranked missions work and I had all 14 Federal Ranks already done but not ranked up (Recruit - 100%) to Rear Admiral in the days since I got my Conda. I'm not too much into planning my build so much as picking up and changing modules as I go. I got a fighter bay and I'm loving that shit. That along with the new mining and exploration equipment, I'm loving this game more than ever.
My question to you... How the fuck did you make 150 Million Credits that fast? What were you doing? My first guess is exploring.

@@ohf3594 Actually, no. Literally sourcing things into Tollan, Gordan Plant. I started off with a Viper 4 as my hauling/combat ship. Met a few people eventually, they came around and helped me out, even a friend of mine who has had the game for several years. Afterwards, I kept the Viper 4, transitioned into a Cobra 3 (Viper 4 still had more cargo anyways) because I was told it was a good ship. I can agree, but the hardpoints are annoying to deal with. So I sold it, and bought Keelback (eventually, I did not like it because of the terrible turning speed for a combat ship). It did have a fighter bay capability, and I did get one... but... I never kept it for long since I sold the Keelback, and stuck with my Viper 4. Eventually, after a few hours of bounty hunting and trade with two different parties of my friends, I got a Diamondback Explorer, and turned it into a bounty ship. But I eventually sold it and decided to stick with the Viper 4... and then more time has passed, I had enough money to get a Type 7 on discount, as well as some left over for a rebuy cost and cargo racks (I still kept the shield generator, but if I did not, I would have had 300 tons worth of cargo), and this was maybe week 2 or 3 since I've started playing. After the purchase of the Type 7... straight up, 99% of my time in E:D was literally sourcing things from one place to Tollan. Currently, I think I made about 60ish million on bounties, a couple thousand on S&R, a few hundred on exploration. I've spent a near total of 600 million credits on upgrades... so safe to say, for the time I've been playing, I've made about 1 billion credits. Right now, I got myself a Viper 4, Imperial Eagle, Courier, Alliance Crusader, Challenger, Chieftain, Type 7, Type 9, and an Anaconda. The Viper 4, Eagle, Courier, Alliance Challenger, Type 7, Type 9, and Anaconda are all upgraded (with the exception of the two trade ships, they're all AD rated). As of right now... I'm broke because I just recently bought the Alliance Crusader, Challenger, and Chieftain, as well as their military armor. Before I did buy them... I had about 200 million in my balance. Now I'm at about 15ish million. Sticking with the smaller ships until I can get 30 million for my Anaconda rebuy. Overall, for almost 3 full weeks of work (not saying every day, all day, in a row, just almost 3 weeks in total game time), and it was about the only game I played for nearly a couple months in a row.
If you can imagine me doing such thing in E:D, then you could imagine what I can do if I enjoyed any other game as much as I did in E:D. About the only thing that I am stumped about is the fact that you have to buy cosmetics... other than that, I'd honestly rate it an 8/10. 1/10 because of the unfixed issues that the community seems to not want to bother with, and the 1/10 that I cant just work for cosmetics.

@@wolfe8035 Wow. Now that's impressive. I'm currently saving up for a Federal Corvette. Damn 'Conda is a bitch to dock but I'm getting used to it. I must say, I admire your dedication. I am a hauler myself and proud owner of a heavily-modified Type-7. Awesome for Sothis and Ceos runs, which were (and still are) my main source of income for a while before I stopped playing. Started up again after seeing the contents of the latest update, and made enough to buy my Conda. Couldn't be happier with my purchase, despite the biggest rebuy cost I've ever had on any Ship.
      O7, Commander.

@@ohf3594 Ikr? The Anaconda scared the crap out of me trying to dock it, as well as undock. I guess to help you get used to it, think of it to be similar to the Type 7. The Type 7 has its cockpit on the bottom of the ship, whereas the Anaconda has it on top. Pro tip I guess is to scrape the top of your Anaconda when both docking and undocking.
I was also saving up for a Corvette as well. Sadly, the 200 million I mentioned I had that I spent on Alliance ships was although meant to be spent on the Corvette, I did not have a high enough Federal rank to even purchase it. So I thought to just spend my money where I want it, because I'm going to make that money back by the time I get to that prerequisite rank. As of now, taking a tad of a break.
