Love the somber mood, love the SWC, love the shots, and love the video, Nico!
Thanks Mike!! A shift from the usual beats.
You weren’t kidding about those straight lines. Nice video. Super relaxing music too
Yeah, its crazy good.
really enjoyable film about the SWC.You made me slightly nervous carrying it without a strap, but you got some excellent shots .You make it a great street camera as well as for technical images of buildings.Nice work.
Everyone in the group chat for Patreon subscribers kept saying how they couldn't wait for this review, and I didn't care, but now I see the shots, I totally want a SWC, aaaaaahhhhhh
Get one!!! Or two and send me one...
Nice shots. So much you can do with lines, perspective, contrast with that camera.
So when are you getting one? ;)
How do you process and digitize the film? I'm thinking about getting one and that's the one thing that's holding me back is that although I developed my own film I don't have a 120 scanner so I would have to pay the lab $10 per roll to get it scanned
Snow and T shirt in the last shot :D Finland at its happiest.
Hadnt even noticed, yup it sums up how it is there.
great camera! I wish i'd have the chance to shoot one of my portrait session video with that ;) great job!
Thanks! Its an awesome camera, so much fun to use, sadly they are not on the cheap side.
Oh no... another camera to want... (love yr show, keep it up)
Thanks! It is another camera to want, I had it and now want it back so bad.
i just bought a photo book in Tokyo by Sinya Arimoto called "Tokyo circulation", its all done with the Hasselblad SWC and he does some amazing work with it.
He is the best with that camera.
Lovely lines!
Thank you!
It was a bit boring when we shot, but it's awesome now that you edited it. Just some occasional commentary about the camera, shutter sounds, and snow crunch 😄
Thanks for all the help, the upside down shot looks great too. I would have edited a bit more but the backlog is too big right now.
Good vid.How did you meter
Usually with a Sekonic 308 meter.
Interesting review. I always thought the 35mm or full frame equivalent of this lens was around 21mm rather than 15mm.
Mike Allen that’s the challenge of comparing square FOV vs rectangle. My understanding is that the 38mm 6x6 FOV matches 24mm for horizontal, 15mm for vertical and 21mm for diagonal. Voigtlander sold an angled viewfinder for that camera that was based on their 15mm viewfinder for 24x36 but squared up.
@@toulcaz31 Ah OK. I guess I got the 21mm from the diagonal measurement.
I suppose if one wanted to shoot with an A16 back (to crop it to an 8x10 or 4x6 ratio) and happened to have a 24mm viewfinder (for a 35mm rangefinder) then it would be a great match for rectangular framing :)
Primero nuevamente :-)
Hay que ser rapido!
HOW ARE YOU DETERMINING EXPOSURES?
Hi Nico, How did/do you meter for exposure value...?
I use a Sekonic 308 most of the time and meter if I feel the light has changed. But I usually meter for a certain shutter speed, in this case something around 1/250th. It can also meter in EV values that can be seen on the lens ring of the Hasselblad lenses.
Nicos Photography Show I’m using EV on the Hasselblad lenses after getting a PME51 prism viewfinder.
Just looking at these on Kamerastore right now - what's the difference between the SWC/M and the 903 SWC?
The lens on the 903 is CF so its bay 60. Also shutter is different. But I had the SWC/M and it was great. Glass is really similar in all.
@@NicosPhotographyShow Ah gotcha, oh and one other thing: You mentioned the 40mm with the mirror is hard to use - why is that?
I would say size, distorsion and filters.
@@NicosPhotographyShow Ah gotcha, makes sense, thanks!
Nicos Photography Show some C/M have the CF lens :)
what's the name of the photographer you mentioned? Thanks!
Would have to rewatch to find out (myself). Probably Lee Friedlander.
Use the lenses hyperlocal . . .
Hahaha, did I say that? I keep getting better and better. 🤣
Lee friedlander - all day
The 38mm lens is equivalent to 25mm, not 15.
Never been good at conversions, but I find it hard to compare when one is a 2:3 aspect ratio and another a 1:1. But its still wide enough for me.
It's a sweet camera. Too bad it's still so expensive.
I know, had it and sold it, now cant afford it again.
So wide that everything’s in focus lol
Can you follow with a darkroom session?
I will as soon as I can.
Thanks for sharing. The SWC has been one of my fav film camera. Check out my personal page at instagram.com/jerrylinphoto/ with many photos done by SWC.
Its such a great camera. Probably the best wide angle 6x6 option out there.
What a sad depressing place to live....
Winter is a season, not a place ;)
