This is why I originally kept the book club open late. She seems to be easily distracted where book ideas are concerned. I think she might have hijacked the plot though as we've been spending a lot of time figuring out how to our ISFJ cop and INTP engineer characters eventually get together when they were enemies when then were kids. I have other characters we need to be working on T_T

I tend to freak people out around the office cause people open up to me about their deepest feelings and I am not asking for it. *Put the stoic the witcher looking dude near my desk and he will be talking to me about his mommy issues within a week.....without me saying a word. Followed by comments like "you want kids right? You would make such a great mom". 😳 I am just sitting here working...minding my own business and bahm shrink-face strikes again. * Or customers admitting to me they were committing fraud.....just to unburden their souls. Problem for them, I was the one investigating fraud so....yeah that got reported...sorry. * strangers at the bus stop talking to me about whats going wrong in their lives.....intimate details. I am just sitting here waiting for the bus dude. * put me on a customer service line and I end up getting intimate details about a womans grandson cause I would make such a great girlfriend for him. I think I have the aura of a teletubby. 🤗 That and as an infj I can see behind the mask. So mister witcher looking dude isn't fooling anyone. So I treat them how I see them. So the second they realise the mask isn't working on me...they drop the mask with me talking about their childhood......seriously freaking out the other co-workers "what did you do to him?". Nothing, they do it to themselves. Its the infj magic...it is what it is.
IKR Thank god, I have friends who know me too well. I keep apologizing for not answering for a while but one of my friends just comments, „don’t worry, next month I would’ve checked up on you.“

Yeah, mine gets very annoyed at me when I don't say the line as we rehearsed. She also gets mad at me if I say something that could easily be taken a less appropriate way. So I can't say something without sounding like a jerk but I also have to say semi jerkish things to sound cool and confident. I'm in a no win scenario with this nutcase 😭

Ok, but seriously, the part about introversion and being socially awkward being two separate things is so true and important. I've seen too many memes and comments where people mistake introversion with being shy, anxious, socially awkward etc. Yes, they can coexist but are not related.
Yeah my dads an introvert but he is one of the most confident people i know, he just cbb socialising lol. And i think im a shy/socially awkward extravert because i get energised by social interaction with people i trust

When I was in undergrad, a group of folks who later adopted this introvert told me, “At first we thought you were all aloof and mysterious, but then we realized that you were a big dork like the rest of us and just shy.” I felt seen.

For a unique experience, think your flow of thoughts without slowing anything down to the speed of conversational speech. Just think at the speed of your thoughts. I did that once and it was like being in an open doorway of a bullet train, hanging on with one hand.

As an adult, I can greet people now, start and maintain a conversation, make phone call and attend social gatherings if I had to, but people still said I'm too quiet. Well, they should've see me 15 years ago! like FJ said, it took years of work to get to this level!!

I have a terrible combination of the kind of anxiety that makes me talk a LOT without any point, and introversion. People assume I’m an extrovert because I talk so much, but I’m actually just praying that I get left alone so I can not talk to anyone anymore. Even worse, I’m a girl, and people seem to think that because of this, I’m just an idiot.
I relate to this so much. When I’m in an uncomfortable social situation, I turn into a bubbly motormouth who blurts out whatever off the top of her head. WHY? It’s like an anxiety-induced reflex brought on by a phobia of awkward silences? Or by some need to pretend that I’m NOT uncomfortable, but then I make everyone else uncomfortable with my awkward-speak. Help! Lol
My daughter is like this! She also has adhd and trouble regulating her impulses but she’s actually an introvert and is totally exhausted after. I, on the other hand, am content to never speak a word.
I'm not a girl, but the same happens to me on the inside. I come up with a million inefficient predictions and responses in one second and end up freezing on the outside, so I stutter a little bit until my line of thought is formed.
I'm a bit like this, although I think it's a bit more just from the fact that I AM talkative, but I am also an introvert and it still drains me being around people for longer than like a few minutes lol. (It's more so the *people* part that I don't like, not the talking part LOL) I'm an INFP tho and it seems like that's pretty common among them

For me I don't talk alot not because I'm shy but because most of the time I don't know what to say and also I don't have energy to talk. I just don't want to. And that doesn't mean I don't have a confidence I can say anything with confidence if I have to. And you can still improve your confidence being an introvert. I was a shy person before with alot less confidence but I worked on it but I didn't changed myself to an extrovert. I bring out my confidence where I need it.
I think I must have resting "check on her to see if she's okay" face. I find that especially while I'm zoned out, waiting for the bus to bring my kids home from school, people (sometimes even cops) will pull up next to me and ask if I'm okay. Yup. Just thinking/waiting.

I agree with the statement I feel like I have an extrovert inside who won't stop talking, and shes mean. XD Ironically I've gotten obsessed with scarfs recently. I don't know why, but I feel a strange feeling of connection between introverts and scarves. It does hide my tech neck from all the times I play video games in bed for a logical excuse. I hate the holidays, but dressing up nice has become a coping mechanism. It makes me feel better, it gets my mind off of traumatic events that made me afraid to trust again. I made a crushed velvet scarf out of a thrift store find I wear around christmas, its fabulously burgandy colored. I love to wear it with my double breasted full length green coat I found at a thrift store. :D. I went nuts digging thtough the scarf bins at the thrift store. I got this one scarf that is so long I wrapped it around my waist and my neck. XD. I decided to let my freak flag fly just a little and went shopping like that. Most of my favorite clothing is used. :) I like trying on stuff I'd never wear in real life too. Tight pop star pants? I got to see this lol. Wow i look ridiculous with my wide butt.XD. it's easier to block out the mean inner commentary if you're busy or dressed nice. Gotta make the inner voice jealous. XD. I want my cake to be an acquired taste.

First off frank you read our minds and second i laughed so hard because this is so confronting, acturate and i am proud to have this as a acomplishment to work on being awkward. Every party where i agree to go to ends with not going or early letting know that i am "not feeling well" just because every extra person in my life thinks i am pathetic and alone in the end they say nothing but we all know what they think. Nah, I'm not mysterious - just extremely boring. Basically the same thing every day - hang out at home, work, watch RUclips for like 4-5 hours, but with bathroom breaks, eating, playing with my birds and showering in between.
Frank, I'm just awe struck by how well you captured my thoughts, how could you possibly have known this though?? Just wow... I've been in therapy for so long about most of these issues, especially the one about the extroverted mean voice in my head is so true. I never thought to attribute it to being an introverted woman though, I'm 30 as of last month... I've been trying to come to terms with what my introverted personality means for me, and why I've never found a healthy balance and struggle so much with relationships, it's been a coping mechanism as my therapist has been explaining (coping as in, I used to hide for long periods of time alone as a child, hiding from my mum) I was in shock when I heard someone else say exactly what I've been talking to my therapist about. Then I laughed so hard that someone came into my room like 'are you okay?' lol. thanks for your vids and laughs you keep it real for me Frank!
The texting back months later is sooo me! I can't even go to my favourite grocery store anymore coz the clerk recognises me now and tries to have friendly conversation. Being an introvert is tough😅😭

I have a terrible combination of the kind of anxiety that makes me talk a LOT without any point, and introversion. People assume I’m an extrovert because I talk so much, but I’m actually just praying that I get left alone so I can not talk to anyone anymore. Even worse, I’m a girl, and people seem to think that because of this, I’m just an idiot.
I relate to this so much. When I’m in an uncomfortable social situation, I turn into a bubbly motormouth who blurts out whatever off the top of her head. WHY? It’s like an anxiety-induced reflex brought on by a phobia of awkward silences? Or by some need to pretend that I’m NOT uncomfortable, but then I make everyone else uncomfortable with my awkward-speak. Help! Lol
My daughter is like this! She also has adhd and trouble regulating her impulses but she’s actually an introvert and is totally exhausted after. I, on the other hand, am content to never speak a word.
@@mjprozac that’s exactly how my father is! I’m grateful to people like him and yourself, who understand and listen to people with these impulses.
I'm not a girl, but the same happens to me on the inside. I come up with a million inefficient predictions and responses in one second and end up freezing on the outside, so I stutter a little bit until my line of thought is formed.
I'm a bit like this, although I think it's a bit more just from the fact that I AM talkative, but I am also an introvert and it still drains me being around people for longer than like a few minutes lol. (It's more so the *people* part that I don't like, not the talking part LOL) I'm an INFP tho and it seems like that's pretty common among them

My almost 2yo niece has a serious resting sad face. All of her siblings as happy as larks, and I know her parents love on her and treat her well, lol. But her poker face is no joke. I mean ... She WILL NOT SMILE. 😂 At least not in social settings.

For me I don't talk alot not because I'm shy but because most of the time I don't know what to say and also I don't have energy to talk. I just don't want to. And that doesn't mean I don't have a confidence I can say anything with confidence if I have to. And you can still improve your confidence being an introvert. I was a shy person before with alot less confidence but I worked on it but I didn't changed myself to an extrovert. I bring out my confidence where I need it.

I think I must have resting "check on her to see if she's okay" face. I find that especially while I'm zoned out, waiting for the bus to bring my kids home from school, people (sometimes even cops) will pull up next to me and ask if I'm okay. Yup. Just thinking/waiting.

As an introvert girly, I totally relate to the part about making plans during the occasional times I'm in a good mood and then cancelling as time gets closer and I start feeling overwhelmed :(( I'm rlly sorry to my friends, trynna get better at it but it's a legitimate struggle, I swear I'm not doing it to be a jerk or be mysterious or quirky or whatever, my anxiety gets the better of me a lot of times and I get easily overwhelmed ;(

Oh my god, the bit about the inner monologue....it's funny because it's so true, but it also really hurts. I mean, like, "I should remember that for my therapist, except substitute 'total bitch' for 'kinda mean'," it's such a good analogy. Also, I was drinking at the start of the video and "it's because you're talking to me" with the resting sad face almost killed me from choking.

Ironically I've gotten obsessed with scarfs recently. I don't know why, but I feel a strange feeling of connection between introverts and scarves. It does hide my tech neck from all the times I play video games in bed for a logical excuse. I hate the holidays, but dressing up nice has become a coping mechanism. It makes me feel better, it gets my mind off of traumatic events that made me afraid to trust again.
I made a crushed velvet scarf out of a thrift store find I wear around christmas, its fabulously burgandy colored. I love to wear it with my double breasted full length green coat I found at a thrift store. :D. I went nuts digging thtough the scarf bins at the thrift store. I got this one scarf that is so long I wrapped it around my waist and my neck. XD. I decided to let my freak flag fly just a little and went shopping like that.
Most of my favorite clothing is used. :) I like trying on stuff I'd never wear in real life too. Tight pop star pants? I got to see this lol. Wow i look ridiculous with my wide butt.XD. it's easier to block out the mean inner commentary if you're busy or dressed nice. Gotta make the inner voice jealous. XD. I want my cake to be an acquired taste.

Every party where i agree to go to ends with not going or early letting know that i am "not feeling well" just because every extra person in my life thinks i am pathetic and alone in the end they say nothing but we all know what they think. My family is all extrovert and it is exhausting being around them.
Nah, I'm not mysterious - just extremely boring. Basically the same thing every day - hang out at home, work, watch RUclips for like 4-5 hours, but with bathroom breaks, eating, playing with my birds and showering in between.

Frank, I'm just awe struck by how well you captured my thoughts, how could you possibly have known this though?? Just wow... I've been in therapy for so long about most of these issues, especially the one about the extroverted mean voice in my head is so true. I never thought to attribute it to being an introverted woman though, I'm 30 as of last month... I've been trying to come to terms with what my introverted personality means for me, and why I've never found a healthy balance and struggle so much with relationships, it's been a coping mechanism as my therapist has been explaining (coping as in, I used to hide for long periods of time alone as a child, hiding from my mum) I was in shock when I heard someone else say exactly what I've been talking to my therapist about. Then I laughed so hard that someone came into my room like 'are you okay?' lol. thanks for your vids and laughs you keep it real for me Frank!
The texting back months later is sooo me! I can't even go to my favourite grocery store anymore coz the clerk recognises me now and tries to have friendly conversation. Being an introvert is tough😅😭
