I bought my first cactus Saturday, a lovely golden barrel about the size of a cantaloupe, also you should come look for cactus here in the eastern USA, although I think it’s mostly opuntia

Got a fun idea for you. Check out the tiny annual native _Crassula_ species of California, like _Crassula connata_ and _Crassula aquatica_, or the non-native species _Crassula tillaea_ or _Crassula colligata_ , which are all super inconspicuous little succulents, but quite beautiful to look at if you can get a good close-up view. Could make for a fun vid.

Serious Bursera Lust here- in the mid 90s I was first exposed to xerophytes and haven't been able to regain my senses since. Had a near-religious experience at Bert and Manny Singer's nursery looking at Manny's microphyllas on my way to a CSSA convention once. Now I collect seed and grow youngsters from a fagaroides I got on a buying trip for the NMCSS in Tucson. Thanks Hunter for the visit to Baja!
