It looks exactly the same as it did in the 70s when I was a child living in Fortrose! 😍

I was looking through old photos from 100 years ago and it hasn't changed much since then either, still very similar, apart from the cars etc..
Thank you for the comment I hope you enjoyed the video.🙂

In the 60's and early 70's we used to cut through Courthill Road to bypass the High Street and look down on the rear gardens of the properties on the High Street. A couple of the gardens there were magnificent and something of a local attraction. I'm guessing it would be close to where you showed the view through to the kilt makers?

Yes that would be correct, although the trees and hedges now restrict some of the view as you walk up Courthill Road. Still some lovely gardens up there.

As you said, Manse Brae is the main road from the Manse down to the High Street. A manse in Scotland isn't a mansion, it is the home of the minister of the local Church of Scotland. The street you walked up from the Gordon Memorial Hall past the new housing development is Courthill Road. The Post Office has had several locations, including the Kiltmaker's shop, but never at the site of the Spar which has always been a grocers .

Thank you for the information that's very interesting. The village is very beautiful and I'm always keen to learn about its history.
I appreciate you taking the time to inform me and hope you enjoyed my video.
