In this cake decorating video tutorial I show you how to make tulip cake pops / how to make flower cake pops. I use the pink Renshaws colour melts / candy melts in this video.
I forget to mention in the video, to melt Renshaws colour melts you can either heat them in the microwave or melt them in a bowl over some hot water. Please follow the instruction on the tub.
To decorate your cake pops you will need -
A balling tool
Renshaws colour melts
Renshaws modelling paste
cutter (optional)

How to store the renshaw modelling paste? Do i need to store it in refrigerator once bought and thaw it before use? Once the tulips made, do i need to store it in the refrigerator too?
They're fantastic! I'd keep them in the vase forever :P
Have you ever tried Fondtastic fondant? I've just found a cake supply shop who sells it, and it doesn't stick to the work surface! it's the best fondant I've found, and it can also be used as a modeling paste. I never knew a non stick fondant existed. I'm totally surprised by it.. anyway, I'm going to make a tulip for a mom at my daughters school who repaired my daughters hair clip without us knowing! lol. i knew it was missing but gee.. what a nice thing to do. so yeah, cake pop tulip for her. thanks Zoe
Thanks Sarah! I don't think I have heard of Fondtastic but it sounds good :) Good luck making the tulip! :)
Beautiful
+Sylvia Valle Thank you Sylvia :)

Urgent! Do you need that plastic square pad? For the petals. & can I make the cake pops smaller
they are very pretty, but think that they would taste better if the petals were made from modellling chocolate. Great tutorial, I am going to give it a try. Thanks
Thanks for watching my cake pop tutorial Cameo, you are right, great idea! Good luck!
Cameo Clinton modelling chocolate would be a great idea too!

love it. They are beautiful. Can I ask what is this modelling paste made from??
Thanks for watching my cake decorating tutorials :)
I use the Renshaws modelling paste if that's what you mean - www.renshawbaking.com/gb/shop/flower-and-modelling-paste-1
This is a great tutorial!! Feeling very inspried to make some myself!!
Thanks for watching my cake pop tutorial :)
Good luck! :)
Thanks. :)
They look great, but isn't gumpaste a little too hard to eat? The gumpaste that I use dries hard enough that if I were to drop a flower on the floor, it sounds like glass shattering.
+gail bourne Thanks for watching Gail. The modelling paste is 'edible' but I personally wouldn't eat it, as you mentioned it dried very hard, when I make toppers and decorative cake items I think most people choose to keep them. Modelling paste / gum paste doesn't taste as nice as fondant either. You could try using fondant instead :)
Amo todas as artes , pra mim é como se eu não vivesse sem elas
Could modeling chocolate be used instead of fondant
How do u get ur butter cream so White
This is amazing !! What is the petals and leafs made of again !?
Claudia Velasques Thank you Claudia. I used Renshaws flower and modelling paste.
Love this tutorial ... I know you are very busy , , but can you please upload more gumpaste flower tutorials. Would love to see different flowers for wedding cakes ..Thanks Zoe
Hi Susan, I will add some to my list, however I run some paid flower classes from my home so I don't want to lose all my business by giving them away free online, I will be doing some paid videos online later this year too. Thanks for watching!
I didn't know you run classes ...thanks for the info will look into it ...thanks
They look lovely! I can safely assume the stick isn't edible but is the rest of it (the flower part) ?

For the tulip cake pops what side was the cookie cutter ?

Sorry, Zoe, this is not what a tulip looks like. It is just an elongated rose bud.
