I’ve been using the flat face of a very small ball peen hammer to free the flywheel. I’ve also started to just support the flywheel with my fingers slightly underneath to get part of the weight of the saw off the bench, but not the whole thing. I don’t haul back very far with the hammer - just maybe an inch or less and give the nut on the crank light taps until it’s free. Usually takes three hits or so. So far that’s worked really well for me. 🔨
That way your doing it, same way you've been doing it for years successfully is completely wrong and you shouldn't do it that way. I know because I've watched youtubes vidjas so I'm an expert. 😜🤣😂
Nice job. The Q-tip idea was a good one
Thanks.
Yeah .3mm gap- nice tip with the flywheel removal!-

I like using that method but I usually use a hammer thats softer than the crank.

Brass hammer is on my list, but from what I’ve learned, crankshafts are extremely tough.
@@Rein_Ciarfella Ya but its easy to roll that first thread or damage the nut if you hit it wrong.
I enjoy these repair videos but waiting for another tool box addition. Lol
I would love to make another tool box addition video and have been thinking about building a cart. Thanks for watching.
Try mounting the right angle grinder in the vice and move the part in to it. If the trigger has a lock. Good information. Thanks.
One doesn't just "clamp" a Snapon grinder in the vise. Now please pass the Grey Poupon. Seriously though yours is good advice.
I know it's an old post but what other flywheels are interchangeable with the 55.
Just the 51.
Don't have a part make one
Especially now when getting any new parts can be a hassle.
