My only con that made me hesitate to purchase this was the fact it doesn’t come with a second battery or a charging doc. I know the UK version has two batteries and a charging doc. impressive but judging reviews from amazon, half say this needs more battery life. I think the reason for that is the head that uses a lot more power than most stick vacs. As also pointed in the video, this could have come with a brushed roller for cleaning upholstery mattresses, dust mites. Additionally, its filtering system, like all previous Sharks, is basic with stainless strainer then one huge sponge like filter.

The medium carpets really ate the battery. It’s pretty loud compared to our old shark vertex lift. The dirt sense is annoying and seemed to get stuck on full blast at one point. I really love the cordless Shark Vertex so if the Stratos is a better version of that, you can't go wrong. I love Duo-Clean but have found in the past that the cyclone system on the Shark cordless machines leaves a LOT to be desired. Dyson absolutely crushes Shark when it comes to filtering dust using the cyclones - the Shark machines I've seen just let it through and expect the filter to do the heavy lifting. So the filter gets clogged quickly and you lose all that power. Does this machine perform better in that regard or is it still just the same poor-performing single cyclone of old?
They use the same technology for every vacuum, they’ve barely done anything to change it. That’s how they keep the price more cheap than Dyson. Dyson does better.
Well most vacuums that do depend on the filters have this problem though... Where you have to clean/change the filter quite regulary to not loose suction power because of the clogged up filter.
I'll say that I have 5 dogs and do not have this issue. Most of what I vacuum IS dust, with hair. While the filter does eventually clog, I don't notice any difference in cleaning performance immediately before washing the filters, usually every 2-3 months. I vacuum at least twice a week, sometimes every other day. Maybe the hair helps catch the dust, idk.
You do have a valid point. BUT, the disadvantage the Dyson sticks have IS the cyclone - over time you have to take apart and clean that cyclone assembly because all that dust will get stuck in there and eventually cause nasty odours. Actually had to do that for a friend who has a Dyson V6. And it's not as easy to do as the Dyson uprights and canisters since the cyclone is attached to the motor. At least you don't have that issue with the Shark, and you can maintain the power by just washing the filters frequently. You can't have it both ways unfortunately :(
All of the different names for their roller brush and duofins is pretty confusing to me. Any chance you could just make a video explaining the differences between them and show what models have which type? Which floor type suit each better? etc.
I'm really sad Shark isn't sold in France. I used your channel to buy the best vacuum according to your analysis without spending Dyson money, and everytime I wish I could buy a Shark... I settled on a Bissel model since it matched perfectly what I needed but damn, Shark seems to be on a different level.
You gave both the cordless and corded a 100 on carpet deep clean, is that because it was comparing to others that were corded/cordless? Trying to determine for carpet what's better and I'm assuming corded because of suction power. Thanks
Have you ever tried to pick up hay with any of these vacuums? Bunny and guinea pig owners would love to know! Currently using a shop vac or just sweeping with a broom.
Just bought one for my mom in her birthday. My parents would never pay that much money for a vacuum, and since she isn't getting younger I thought ill take it in my own hands.. I really wanted a dyson at first, but figured that they are just too overpriced for only 1 or 2 extra features. I also like that u can easily go under couches etc with that one. This is something even I hate with normal vacuums. Got it for 330 down from 600 + student discount + a second battery. Thank you for your great, and compact reviews. I think she will be very happy :)
How does the Shark Stratos Cordless with Clean Sense IQ compare to the Shark Vertex Pro Cordless Vacuum with Duo-Clean PowerFins and Powered Lift-Away? In previous videos it seemed that you preferred the Vertex Pro with Lift-Away to all other Cordless Vacuums so it's interesting to me that you compared the Stratos to the Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight Cordless stick Vacuum with Duo-Clean PowerFins. What was the deciding factor in your decision to compare the two you did rather than compare the new one to the one you previously said was your favorite over all Cordless Vacuum cleaners?
actually he compared the stratos to the older vertex, the vertex pro stick has the exact same power specs as this stratos and the lift away has even power more with 120 inches of water lift vs 80 for the stratos/vertex pro stick
Great work as always. I am going to shop for a dustbuster type vac for quick grab and go. Have you done reviews on those? If so can ya send me a link please. Thanks for the work you put in
I actually bought this Stratos and I'm very happy. I live in a one bed apartment. I have two batteries. If i lived in a 3 bedroom house I would need 6 batteries :)
Great review as always, but you are comparing the iz400 to the iz202, in the UK there was a iz300, which is the previous model - how does it compare to that one.... ?
I stil prefer the upright style of the Shark Vertex Pro Cordless Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins & Powered Lift-Away. looks like they now need to make an upright version of the Stratos cordless with cleansense iq.
Which vacuum would be your best recommendation for carpet only including stairs (with pets in the house), please? I’ve seen your videos and they are all tested around the house, rather than carpet specific. Upright or cordless, doesn’t matter. Just trying to get my carpet really well vacuumed. 😊👍🏼 love your channel!!! Based on your channel I bought the tineco floor one s3 for downstairs hard floor and it’s amazing what it picks up every time!!!! Even picked up loads of dirt after we hoovered and moped in the usual way once. Never looked back
I have the stratos and LOVE IT! We have a dog who sheds a ridiculous amount and my stratos cordless handles pet hair like a charm. We also have a 50/50 mix of carpet and hard floors and it works amazing on both. Definitely worth it!
Here’s a question for you. Would you go with the shark Stratos cordless or the shark Vertex pro for a house that is 40% carpet/bedrooms and 60% hard floors ? I would really appreciate your professional input!! ** One of these small Vacs would be working in combination a Roborock S7V ultra that should arrive today that I bought myself as a retirement present… Now, how often do you hear about that? Usually it’s a sports car…
Many Shark products like this have a massive durability issue with the main hose at the goose neck where all the swivel action takes place. Have they addressed this issue with this product?
Do you know if the flex wand from this newer Stratos version fits the older Vertex Pro? The hinge on my vertex pro wand has broken twice, and they don’t seem to sell replacements for the IZ682h Vertex Pro! Any ideas? It makes me want to avoid this Stratos…
I'm curious to see how you would recommend this over a Dyson V15 Detect, we own a Dyson V8 and are looking for something just as good but with a removable battery.
@@chelseab4430 We actually didn't purchase anything new. Was holding out on the Migo Ascender robotic vacuum which I backed but company fell short of funding and refunded everyone's money.
I bought a Vertex based in this channels reccomendation and was disappointed. It fully clogs every other week thus requiring regular dismantling. You sould find a way to test clogging bacause I doubt this product performs any better.
Be careful because unless they redesigned the flexology wand it breaks. I had the hz500 and it didn’t last a year. Many have experienced the same thing and Shark doesn’t do anything about it.
I'm concerned about replacement batteries not being available. Searching the web and their website none of the newer units (IZ662, IZ862, and ICZ362 have replacement batteries in stock. Is something to worry about, or just have faith that sooner or later they will be available?
I am concerned. But the UK version where people got two batteries and a dock to charge them, most reviews say one battery is enough but it’s still good to have two. I’m hoping I’m the future there will be a battery they will sell.
I have this vacuum and the sound level is almost deafening, especially when its at its high rpm range. It makes me wonder if something is wrong with it? I've check all tubing and head for blockages, empties the bin and cleaned the filters.. nothing changes. I had a dyson v11 animal before this and liked the dyson better.
Love your reviews and come back to them whenever I need a new vacuum, but I do have one gripe which would be the battery testing segment. Across your videos, you consistently say they advertise X time in X condition, and you ONLY show you results testing in a different setup. I think the majority of your viewer base would appreciate a more detailed breakdown. I'd suggest something along the lines of testing the company's advertised rating in that specific setup to see if it holds true, as well as low power (or whatever you feel would be the most frequent usage power based on you experience during testing) with the head on. The companies typically advertise a low power extreme, and you only seem to do max power with head on which demonstrates the other extreme, but I feel like showing more of the middle instead of leaving it as a massive range, as well as testing the advertised claims would be beneficial.
You do great reviews. However, I believe you have listed the bin sizes wrong. My Vertex has a .34 LITRE (not quart) bin which is about .72 quarts. I believe both have about the same size containers. Anyone have both handy to compare?
I would love to know which is better between cordless or corded. Is simply a preference or a difference in power that might just be better for carpet maybe? I would love a cordless vacuum but don’t want to buy one if the corded stratos is better than the cordless by a significant amount.
I will say that the corded version comes with a lot more attachments. I have the cordless version and it didn’t come with an upholstery attachment so I have to keep my old vacuum around to do the couch. The battery life isn’t bad at all and allows me to do my whole house. I think it comes down to preference tbh as both versions are good, one just has more attachments!
I'm wondering how well it deals with edges along walls and such based on where the rollers are located, seems like it would leave a wide gap forcing you to make use of the tools for a detail cleaning or trying to go head-on which can be tiresome if say you are doing the runs down a hallway.
How hard is it to remove the second brushroll with the fins or to take the transparent plastic piece off to clean under there? The shark vertex required me to remove 20+ screws, the motor, belts, lights, pins, a spline, etc just to get under the plastic area after I had run over some dog poop and it got caked and encrusted underneath there. That's not user friendly and it's totally unnecessary to be designed that way. It should be easily serviceable without having to do surgery.
Does anyone know where to buy accessories for the shark stratos cordless? The attachment site is kind of squarish whereas all of the attachments I’ve found are all circular. Thank you!
I wish i could find Shark vacuums in Europe. If i want one, i'd need to import one from US. Here in France for exemple, we have just few different models, and that's not even the best ones. That's not exactly the same, i guess that's a different market so they have to adapt. That's pity. I took a different brand then. We have only two corded upright Shark : NZ801 and HZ500 Three cheap cordless : IZ201 - IZ300 - IZ320 Two "get anywhere" cordless sharks : ICZ160 and ICZ260
For europe they are a disaster! I'm always excited till i go search the model. Maybe if we 'complain' with enough people from Europe they will get more units into Europe. Gonna do that right now :D
Does the double roll scratch hard wood floors and does the soft roll get ruined by carpet full of dog hair ? Debating this vacuum or dyson v15. V15 is on sale
@@VacuumWars I'm shopping now and trying to decide between these two. I'm leaning toward vertex pro powered cordless lift away due to neck and back injuries. Thoughts?
@@mattj3175 if you're looking for a dedicated floor vacuum and you aren't concerned with a sealed system, I got my elderly disabled grandmother the Bissell airram. It's a bit plasticky but it has really good suction and picks up literally everything with little flapper seal at the front. She loves it and since she is very unstable if she has to let go of the handle and drop it there is nothing to break since the entire vacuum unit is sitting flat on the floor. I repeat it is not a sealed system whatsoever but it's a million times better than a basic floor sweeper, it is a true vacuum
I'm considering one of these and I have the earlier Duo clean with two Ion batteries. It does well on carpet and lasts a while but we have parrots and the power head and hose plug up with all the crumbs and seeds they drop. I have to take another vacuums hose to suck out the head after cleaning a big spot every time I use it. Does this thing do way better considering the extra power or am I going to have the same problem?
Would you suggest this or the HydroVac if I were to purchase one for all of my household cleaning duties? I currently have the LGCordZero but plan on returning it because it never included a hard floor head.
In your reviews you need to stand these cordless up to corded models so people can see that they are smaller. Also these vacuums still collect hair and the second roller is not removable,
The v15 is leaps ahead of shark. Buckets more power, runtime, deep cleaning and filtration. Which is why I don’t think it’s shown or compared in this video, but a lower end v12 is used.
@@tomobrien1853 Your statement is mostly false based on the results in this video. The Stratos has the same level of real world performance as the V15, despite have its weight and size resembling the V12 slim more.

What cordless vacuum would you recommend for a house that’s 70% laminate/hardwood/tile floors 30% area rugs?
Thank you for the detailed and in depth video. This helped make our decision.
Glad it was helpful!
Have you ever tried to pick up hay with any of these vacuums? Bunny and guinea pig owners would love to know! Currently using a shop vac or just sweeping with a broom.
Yes! Bunny owner here, too! The hay is a real issue!!
Vacuum Wars, can you offer an opinion of the performance compared to the cordless vertex lift away?
Also want to know this :)
Ditto! ^^^
Ditto x3
Also curious about the new combined brushroll on the Shark Cordless Pro IQ Sense
Can you pls send me the link where you got the second batter?
@@sarahtran1433 it was an offer on their main page!
This
actually he compared the stratos to the older vertex, the vertex pro stick has the exact same power specs as this stratos and the lift away has even power more with 120 inches of water lift vs 80 for the stratos/vertex pro stick
I'm digging through the comments looking for this answer as well. I wonder if you prefers this over the vertex Pro cordless Lift Away
Does the Stratos automatically adjust from floor to carpet, or is there a special setting that I'm missing? Thanks!
Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum with XL Dust Cup, LED Headlights.
I know you say best Cordless Shark stick vacuum, but how do you rank it in comparison to the Shark Cordless Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away (ICZ362H)?
Shark Stratos Cordless or Shark Stratos upright? Based on suction & debris pickup.
Who'd think we'd be subscribing to Vacuum chanels on youtube in 2023? But this is THAT good.
5 stars if I could.
Which one did you end up going for? I'm between these same two
Many Shark products like this have a massive durability issue with the main hose at the goose neck where all the swivel action takes place. Have they addressed this issue with this product?
These videos get me through work! Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks!
What is the difference between the H and HC versions?
Excellent review -Shark Stratos coming for Black Friday!
Thank you!
Wondering what the differences between the Stratos and the vertex?
Great review!!! But What about the corded one could you please make a video about it !
Love your in depth videos but now i can’t decide between shark stratos and shark vertex pro? 🙉 Would you be making a video soon of sharks ?
Needed a new cordless for work and these videos are helping alot
That's good to hear. Thanks.
Do you know if the flex wand from this newer Stratos version fits the older Vertex Pro? The hinge on my vertex pro wand has broken twice, and they don’t seem to sell replacements for the IZ682h Vertex Pro! Any ideas? It makes me want to avoid this Stratos…
Love your videos…. I am torn between this one and the Dyson V15, it’s a huge price difference and they seem very comparable!
Have you seen our V15 review? That may help ruclips.net/video/7B3pfS6fqHo/видео.html Thank you for enjoying our channel!
I'm curious to see how you would recommend this over a Dyson V15 Detect, we own a Dyson V8 and are looking for something just as good but with a removable battery.
We are in this exact situation… may I ask what you ended up going with?
@@chelseab4430 We actually didn't purchase anything new. Was holding out on the Migo Ascender robotic vacuum which I backed but company fell short of funding and refunded everyone's money.
Wow, that looks really nice!
can you review the new shark hydrovac? its a tineco floor one s3 type floor cleaner.mopper
What are tiny floor shelves. Shoe racks?
Do you see the height markings on them?
I'm hoping that they do the same thing they did with the vertex. Give it a "pro" version that has a powered lift away system. 🙂
How it works on tile floors, any scratches?
I bought a Vertex based in this channels reccomendation and was disappointed.
It fully clogs every other week thus requiring regular dismantling. You sould find a way to test clogging bacause I doubt this product performs any better.
Be careful because unless they redesigned the flexology wand it breaks. I had the hz500 and it didn’t last a year. Many have experienced the same thing and Shark doesn’t do anything about it.
Sorry to hear Shark does not respond to customer issues. This alone would discourage me from buying anything they sell.
@@Chinaboy812do you know where I can buy a second battery for it?
It's _ē-co_ not "echo". It's the abbreviation for economy.
Should I go with the stratos corded or cordless? I do put suction as a priority. Maybe it’s an easy answer, corded.
I think corded is always the way to go. Reviews say the cord is 30 feet... super long and has a "cordless feel" without losing power and suction
Would you still prefer this over the Dyson V12 if they were the same price?
What about the noise? Just a request for future, It would be nice if you allow us to hear it work.
You do great reviews. However, I believe you have listed the bin sizes wrong. My Vertex has a .34 LITRE (not quart) bin which is about .72 quarts. I believe both have about the same size containers. Anyone have both handy to compare?
@VacuumWars Is the Shark Stratos a solid buy?
Awsome video thanks for the review
I would love to know which is better between cordless or corded. Is simply a preference or a difference in power that might just be better for carpet maybe? I would love a cordless vacuum but don’t want to buy one if the corded stratos is better than the cordless by a significant amount.
I will say that the corded version comes with a lot more attachments. I have the cordless version and it didn’t come with an upholstery attachment so I have to keep my old vacuum around to do the couch. The battery life isn’t bad at all and allows me to do my whole house. I think it comes down to preference tbh as both versions are good, one just has more attachments!
@@alttrot8 can you buy the same extra attachments for the cordless one?
I'm wondering how well it deals with edges along walls and such based on where the rollers are located, seems like it would leave a wide gap forcing you to make use of the tools for a detail cleaning or trying to go head-on which can be tiresome if say you are doing the runs down a hallway.
It does ok if you go parallel, but if you go straight in the front of the vacuum cleans right up against edges.
I just bought the rose gold one because of your videos. I’m so excited.
We have only two corded upright Shark : NZ801 and HZ500
Three cheap cordless : IZ201 - IZ300 - IZ320
Two "get anywhere" cordless sharks : ICZ160 and ICZ260
For europe they are a disaster! I'm always excited till i go search the model. Maybe if we 'complain' with enough people from Europe they will get more units into Europe. Gonna do that right now :D
Does the double roll scratch hard wood floors and does the soft roll get ruined by carpet full of dog hair ? Debating this vacuum or dyson v15. V15 is on sale
Hi I get completely confused on the differences between the pet and non pet versions . Can you explain please
I still like the Shark Vertex Pro Powred cordless Lift Away. Out of all my cordless vacs, I still keep going back to that one
That's great that you are happy with it. Another commenter just said about the same.
Why do you never use high pile carpets ?
the Shark Cordless Pro With Clean Sense IQ IZ562H seems pretty good too. Any plan to review it soon ?
I'm considering one of these and I have the earlier Duo clean with two Ion batteries. It does well on carpet and lasts a while but we have parrots and the power head and hose plug up with all the crumbs and seeds they drop. I have to take another vacuums hose to suck out the head after cleaning a big spot every time I use it. Does this thing do way better considering the extra power or am I going to have the same problem?
I have a dyson V11 - the airway always gets blocked and its a pain to keep manually removing the blockage. Will this be vacuum better?
Would you suggest this or the HydroVac if I were to purchase one for all of my household cleaning duties? I currently have the LGCordZero but plan on returning it because it never included a hard floor head.
In your reviews you need to stand these cordless up to corded models so people can see that they are smaller. Also these vacuums still collect hair and the second roller is not removable,
I love the vacuum and shark customer service but I am on my third one they have replaced keep getting error 10 does anyone know why ?
Would you say this is better than the Tineco S11 (not tango) ?
Is the Dyson V15 Detect worth the extra $250 compared to the Shark Cordless Stratos?
The v15 is leaps ahead of shark. Buckets more power, runtime, deep cleaning and filtration. Which is why I don’t think it’s shown or compared in this video, but a lower end v12 is used.
@@tomobrien1853 Your statement is mostly false based on the results in this video. The Stratos has the same level of real world performance as the V15, despite have its weight and size resembling the V12 slim more.
@@Frenchfrys17 wrong, the dyson deep cleans better due to the sharks duoclean not creating as good of a seal, plus the shark has 30 percent more water lift power(suction power)
@@mainsource8030 Please present evidence for you claims.
@@Frenchfrys17 i have both and can run the shark on any carpet without it getting pulled to the floor, the dyson needs the gates open to not get stuck, there both great imo and its annoying having to change the head on the dyson for floors, so they each have there own plus's
Have you ever done a review of the quantum x water vacuum? I recently just bought one and I think it is the best vacuum ever made and I would like to know what you think
how can I take the red plastic roller out? something stuck in it & can’t figure out how to take it out 😭
So are you taking this over the Lupe vacuum now?
Seriously the best yt channel.
I have a vertex pro that I bought a few months back and it has a carpet and hard floor mode but I don't see one on the stratos. We have wood floors and I am concerned that the brush speed might be too high for them if it is just one speed.
It appears the uk version doesn't me work the anti allergen brush. Grrr was interested in this as I'm really allergic to dust mite poop.
Ignoring price, how does this compare to the Dyson v12?
this video compraes it a lot with the Dyson V12 .... but what about the V15 ? still wins overall ?
Shark warranty is a joke. Roller stopped after 4 months, called shark, they said the bottom “head” needs to be replaced, can’t be fixed and not covered by warranty. Again, 4 months old shark. Offered to buy new head for $80. I bought the whole sacrum for $100 at walmart. After they heard that, they graciously offered 50% discount. I bought new head for $40. Still super pissed. I know I did not do anything wrong with vacuum, it is a faulty product and they don’t really have a warranty.
“Sacrum”=vacuum. Auto correction. Can’t fix the comment.
I had the same issues when trying to use sharks warranty, they don’t wanna help and actually started getting loud and rude down the phone. Dyson is the way forward!
But does it shock you like the vertex?
would this be ok to use is you have tile ,carpet plus dogs? can it clean crevice and deep places where the back slide door slides on (grooves and spaces), under furniture , car and what can you suggest to deep clean carpet and tile with water?
