Phil Campbell is a good guitarist and Mikkey Dee is a good drummer, but man... no line-up can beat this one. Eddie was the perfect guitarist for this band and this band was perfect for his stlye. And I mean it. He wasn't even the best choice for Fastway - even though it was his own band. I know Lemmy was Motörhead itself, but it did matter who he was playing with. And Eddie wrote riffs and solos that completed Lemmy's basslines the best way. And Philthy... well, he wasn't the best drummer in the world, but he was the best drummer for Motörhead with his instictive playing. I think it helped him a lot that he wasn't a professional drummer. I know. Who cares? Random guy from internet tells his opinion. So what? So thanks for reading my bullshit, but you could have enjoyed this awesome show instead.
Mikkey is a great technical drummer, but he's got no swing to his playing. He's very rigid. Philthy's playing grooves like a beast. He was the perfect fit for that band.
I was also there. Row 5 or 6 on the far left near Lemmy's stack. Was pretty much deaf for 3 days after. Was in my early teens and had to be home in S Shields by 11 so had to leave before the end to get the X2 home from Worswick St bus station. Thanks for posting, I got to hear Overkill 40 years later!

Just for the record, this is a Darkorb-Bong collaboration, with thanks to Hothcanada - video shot by Phil's dad (true!), & with soundboard audio sync...
@@LarryFleetwood8675 The Toronto gig was a 'difficult' (!) gig for obvious reasons, & I have a feeling this was done by Philthy's dad on a single cam as a memento for the band as opposed to a potential release - even tho' the soundboard just happened to be recorded...ahem, cough...but I'd agree with you overall, I'm just glad this surfaced...
Thankyou for this - my first gig was at Bristol on this tour, so glad now I saw them before Eddie's departure, still hard to believe all three of them have now departed this world, RIP, one of the greatest live bands the world has ever seen
You could hear the discontent and frustration in Eddie's voice regarding the new material. The Plasmatics collaboration proved to be the proverbial straw.
I was there that night, no idea how I was supposed to get back from Newcastle to Middlesbrough, missed the last train back, my dad picked me up Lol,,,,,
Phl Taylor wanted Eddie out of the band that's why he was given the sack. By all accounts Eddie was devastated as he always said he imagined dying on stage with Motorhead.
We call this gig FAST EDDIE'S SCREWDRIVER-after Ace of Spades, between song banter-Lemmy catches us sipping on Eddie's drink -it's my proudest and most ashamed Motorhead moment ever ;) xx
GREAT REAL Motörhead live. Video quality is shit, but sound is Great...I dont like You Tube fake Motörhead videos. Thank You !!!!! and i saw "Motörhead" song first time live.
It was loud. Fast as well. Saw them on the weekend at Hammy, after this video was shot. Never thought they’d break up. Remember watching bands at Reading that same year. Twisted Sister came. Bloody hell, they got smashed with bits. Remember at the end of TS set, Pete Way on stage Lemmy also, someone else, but I can’t remember who, Eddie was playin but there was there was no jamming between Lem and Edd. Shame really. Good memories.

Powerful Love Motorhead every lineup is Bad Ass but this has to be the most powerful lineup on the NWOBHM Maiden gets a lot of credit Love Maiden but when it comes to Power MOTERHEAD mops the floor with them \,,/😊😊
I was 11yrs old and it was my first gig. I remember standing right at the back of the hall because it was so loud. After the gig I was lucky to be able to go back stage and have my copy of no sleep til Hammersmith LP signed by Eddie, Phil and Lemmy. I still have this album framed.
Best 3 piece ever.
Best ever Motorhead lineup...r.i.p...you are not forgotten...💔🇮🇹
The Golden Era with The Classic Line Up - to me it never got better, love it

Fantastic comment and very true. Loved all the line ups but this one could not be beaten ♠️🤘
Perfect line up. Saw every line up until the end, and this is the classic!
Soundtrack of my youth. I can't believe they are all gone now.
Rip Lemny, Phil & Eddie. Job well done guys!

Great to see a proper band and light show concert: none of the gimmicks we are blessed with now 😂

Like the Toronto concert, Bronze should've had it filmed professionally for home video release, it's still cool to see this just like being there.

Amazing job with the synchronization. Hats off! A historic live document.
Amazing to see this . I was at this gig at Newcastle City Hall, my first real gig aged 15. Great memory, it was fookin loud 😂👍🏻🎸
Philthy's drumming! 😬👍

Always love the sound Phil got out of his Yamaha kits, this is no exception.

I was there that night my first gig I'll never forget it my ears were still ringing at school next day cheers
My first gig too was one of this tour, Motörhead Leiden (NL) October 1982 ears still ringing today

Motörhead - was it really fast and loud Rock n Roll or was it the sound of total war with weaponized music? Nobody knows...
