This method intends to fix a corrupted flash disk partition by manually formatting it.
In other words, this will DELETE all of your contents on your flash disk.
Use the data recovery software above to recover lost files.

Instructions in short:
Go to "CMD"
1.diskpart
2.list disk
3.select disk x (x being the usb)
4.clean
5.create partition primary
6.active
7.select partition 1
8.format fs=fat32 quick

In Next step i entered clean It is showing * There is no disk selected *
you have to select the flash drive disk. i could be 1,2 ,3 etc

This video has saved me two times now when my computer was only recognizing a 64gb flash drive as 1gb and would not format it. The second time was with a 2gb flash drive it was saying was 1gb. This was a result of a Dish Hopper reformatting it. Thank you very much. Confirmed this works but do remember you will lose what data you have on it.
Remember:if you are using Windows XP,this method will not work because Windows XP only reads "Flash Drive" as a VOLUME and NOT a DISK like Windows 7 and Vista.
Try These Method:
open cmd and type "diskpart".Now type list volume and now you will see your flash drive.(Only for Windows XP{SP}).This is only the Proof that windows xp only reads flash drive as VOLUME.

well done. This was the only true answer for corrupt thumb drives ive seen. even the hp partition utility was off.
When i do Clean it says : DiskPart has encounterd an error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O Error. See the system Event Log for more info.
Can you try it on another computer?
Shaun Calagos I got the same error as him, even on the disk table on the size it shows the right size but on the free it shows 0mb ...I tried it on a different laptop.
I think the problem started when i was installing windows using a usb method...i did change the drive fro gpt to mbr so that the install can go through but it ddnt went sucssfully but yes i managed to change to mbr and now i cant change back nor the disk management responding.....thnx

DISKPART> select disk (id)
DISKPART> online disk (if the disk is not online)
DISKPART> attributes disk clear readonly
DISKPART> clean
DISKPART> convert mbr (or gpt)
DISKPART> create partition primary
DISKPART> select part 1
DISKPART> active (if this is the boot partition)
DISKPART> format fs=ntfs label=(name) quick
DISKPART> assign letter (letter)
DISKPART> list volume
The following are common errors displayed if you miss a step:
DISKPART> clean
DiskPart has encountered an error: The media is write protected.
See the System Event Log for more information.
Resolution: run "attributes disk clear readonly" before trying to clean the volume and create the partition.
DISKPART> convert mbr
Virtual Disk Service error:
The specified disk is not convertible. CDROMs and DVDs
are examples of disks that are not convertable.
Resolution: clear all data off the disk before converting by running the clean command.
DISKPART> create partition primary
Virtual Disk Service error:
There is not enough usable space for this operation.
Resolution: run "clean" before trying to create the partition.
DISKPART> format fs=ntfs quick
Virtual Disk Service error:
The volume is not online.
Resolution: online the disk, create the partition, and convert to mbr before formatting.
The following are common errors displayed if there is a hardware problem:
DISKPART> clean
DiskPart has encountered an error: The device is not ready.
See the System Event Log for more information.
Resolution: If the event log entry states "The driver detected a controller error on \Device", the problem is likely your storage controller on your mainboard. Check your hard drive connections and reload your storage conroller driver. If the event log entry states "VDS fails to write boot code on a disk during clean operation. Error code: 80070015@02070008", the hard drive itself has failed.
The following are common errors you may see if there is a hardware problem:
DISKPART> clean
DiskPart has encountered an error: The media is write protected.
See the System Event Log for more information.
Resolution: Running "attributes disk clear readonly", as mentioned above, is the first step. Next, the disk is may be locked by an active process, in which case a reboot generally clears the error.

Make sure you open CMD prompt in elevated mode i.e. "Run as Administrator". The steps provided are just a way to clean format a drive using DISKPART, however, if the drive has bad sectors it cannot be recovered.

try to remove write protection. usually there's a switch on your flash drive, but sometimes it's the flash drive that has the problem. if it persists, you might want to check other videos.

when I try to create a new partition the following error is showing:

free space to create a partition at the specified size and offset. Specify

partitioning format and the disk contains either 4 primary partitions, (no
more partitions may be created), or 3 primary partitions and one extended
partition, (only logical drives may be created).

The flash drive you are trying to clean has write protect. If you have windows 7, type regedit in the run box, and disable write protect. it's somewhere deep in the registry though. it is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\StorageDevicePolicie and if it isn't there, just right click, select new, then DWORD and call it write protect. then edit it to 0. you should be done.

dude this actually worked but my pd was not getting formated by this but after clicking exit i just did simple formating and that jus worked thanks a lot
just be sure to select the right drive or you could end up messing up your hard drive. In this case it was drive one, the smaller of the two hard drives.

Would you recommend that I follow the directions in your video if my USB flash drive is having the following problem: It was corrupted the first time I used it. I bought a 64GB usb drive and I tried to transfer all my music (34GB) to it. It transferred the folders, but for some reason the music files in some of the folders never transfer. This happens no matter how many times I try it. I tried formatting the USB by right clicking it on my computer and running a full format. So, any suggestions?

Bale Folder Options (Organize > Folder and Search Options), navigate ka sa view, then uncheck mo ung hide protected system files and click mo ung radio (show all hidden files and folders) try mo kung andun.
Friendly advice: Panget AVG. I suggest switch to MSE. hndi ako vinirusan sa antivirus na un (di ko na cya gmet dhl naka-8 ako and ung antivirus dun is more like MSE UI and wala nakong ginagamit na antivirus dito sa 8). or avast! maganda dn. nag-switch lang ako dhl wala nang sandbox sa free.

be sure also that it's unlocked. meaning, make sure the drive is in non-write protection.
While executing clean command after selecting usb,i am getting below error.

My USB problem is that it will not show up in anything. when I typed "clean", it said there was no media in the disk. I already knew that because it worked before and once I did a full format on it, it just never showed up again after that. Do you know what the problem is?

just use hp disk format utility, actually its just like there are 2 partitions now in ur usb but ; windows just recognises the 1st partition and its 2gb ; hp disk utility helps to merge those 2

it said there is no media on the disk. The flash drive also, wont get picked up by the computer, the red light flashes, then stays on.
