'World's Best Chord Progression' Ep.33 - 'Uptown Girl', Billy Joel

Thanks to all those who suggested I take a look at some Billy Joel songs.
I appreciate there are perhaps some more complext songs in terms of chord progressions in his catalogue (and I will try and look at them soon!) but I thought I'd start up with this straight up classic because I am actually really interested at the moment in classic pop songs that hide very clever harmony in plain sight!
Here's an example of a song that uses fairly straight forward chord sequence but tied up in a beautiful modulating cycle of keys that give this sense of ever progressing forwards and yet ever returning to the same place (could there be a better way to describe the cycles of romantic love!?)
There are 3 distinct keys that make up the song and great uses of secondary dominants to go between each.

Love it. But get the Roman numerals right, and standardise on whether the chord changes go up or down. Aside from this, I must once again ask: why are we using Roman numerals, and why is the root chord 1 and not 0, which would make it all MUCH simpler.
