'World's Best Chord Progressions' Ep. 20 'Goodbye Yellow brick road', Elton John & Bernie Taupin

Thanks to all those who suggested I take a look at the brilliant 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' from the album of the same name.
When I came to remind myself of the chord progression I was surprised to find it's not actually doing that much that's harmonically unusual. I think what people are drawn to is the way the very strange lyrics (strange for a pop song anyway) are matched to a brilliant melody that keeps you hooked in throughout.
What a songwriting team Elton John and Bernie Taupin are! And I believe they've only ever written one song together whilst in the same room which is amazing!
