We had some Spam and some Orker Luncheon Meat that is used as fish bait and decided to make 2 dishes. Sharon made a Spam, cheese and onion toasted sandwich in the new Chefree AFW20 Air Fryer and I made a Luncheon meat, beans and curry powder on toast with grated cheese. What one would you prefer. Let's see how they turned out.
Here are the ingredients we are using today.
1 tin of Spam,
1 tin of luncheon meat,
1 tin of baked beans,
Some cheddar cheese and some red onion slices,
Also some grated cheese,
Some medium curry powder,
Four, slices of thick cut bread
Some butter.

Wonderful and highly amusing presentation 😅 Oh my, Sharon’s face 😮 when you said “open your mouth ….” What an adorable team you are! I feel as though if SPAM was good enough during WWII and for years later, after rationing, kept the British fed well enough to ward off malnutrition, well then, it’s definitely a positive food for today especially with high cost of living! Your channel is a bit of a hidden gem. I started watching you years ago rescuing lawnmowers and now find myself rolling around in laughter, the first 10 minutes are very entertaining. I’ve just checked the price at Lakeside for the Orker lunch ham and they’re £2.45 a tin, the ingredients are listed as 65% chicken and 35% pork

To get Spam out the tin, make a hole with a tin opener on the other end, it breaks the vacuum.
I usually open both sides of the tin and then you can push it out with your thumbs.
BBC or Sky need to get on the ball and sign you two to a long term contract! We love you guys.

This is my treat whenever the Mrs is away, except i use chilli powder in the beans. And i cook the spam before adding it to the beans.
Also for those tins, i pierce the base with a knife, it comes out much easier.

Some serious cross contamination going on by using the same knife and chopping board on both products. I personally used to use Spam as a treat because it's really not healthy. I stopped smoking in 2018 after 45 years a smoker and piled on the weight. These days I'm a vegetarian because of processed food like this, I used to have a full English breakfast almost every day but when we had the lockdown I took the time to research my health and my weight issues and realised between my diet and my medications I was making myself ill. I was almost 18 stone , high blood pressure, high cholesterol and disabled. I was 62 , now 2 years later I'm 13 stone, off all my old meds and haven't felt this good for probably 20 years and I'm no longer disabled , food choices are more important as we get older because we get into bad habits which is very difficult to change. But if you can do it, it's definitely worth thinking about. Each to their own I suppose.

Try making a small hole in bottom to let the air out then you should be able to slide it out of the tin ,also it easier if you put it in the fridge till you need it it works well with corn beef
It's a good video, my husband would love either but I hate spam. I would eat the toasted sarnie minus the spam as you cant beat em out of air fryer , so crunchy and crisp

We love spam. 3 generations all love it. We do what I call spam and rice. I take Rice a Roni chicken flavor and prepare it as directed. When you add the water and flavor packet put in one can of whole kernal corn and a can of cubed/diced spam. Cover and simmer as the directions tell you. It is a delicious one skillet meal everyone loves. I bet baby Frank will love it too.

My husband uses spam as bate when he goes fishing.
With working long hours with not a lot of time to do very much I end up watching several of your videos in one go when I get the chance. I really loved your trip to Benidorm and you did an amazing job of showing the sites and the different places to eat. You did a much better job than the MacMaster for sure but saying that all your walk about videos are excellent and very enjoyable. I don't own an air fryer but always watch those videos too as the food you make looks amazing.

I was looking online for tastes from my childhood - we never had Spam, mam used to get Plumrose.
This day I spent trying to find the taste of years gone by, the cheaper end of the range, chopped ham with pork all became a more of awful food - until! - I tried Pek.
Seriously, you need to get it tried, or test it even.
BTW - the beans, the Spam looks proper nice, I’ll be giving that a go.
Though I’ll cut & onion up to add with the beans & add it with the beans at the first part of this vlog.
That was a great vlog, the end part with beans & chopped pork with ham (whatever brand) - would be great for a school night tea time, a breakfast also.
This really helps while people are skint.

I haven't had Spam for decades when I was a child in the 1950's. Many the times we had it cold with mashed potatoes peas and carrots. Occasionally my mother used to dip slices of the Spam into a batter and fry it and at the time we loved it.
I love the bacon spam it's beautiful fried with egg & chips
Pork, beans and cheese means it could be a bit windy tomorrow 😉
Pierce the bottom of the tin before opening it., or open the top and the bottom with the tin opener and press it through.
Lovely and I quite like the beans and spam option with the cheese - done this after a night out on the beer, mind you watch out ! the next morning
i know there's a polish type of meat in a clear plastic . and its very nice but not as salty
Just remember when you want to remove anything from the tubs just first place it in warm water and it should just slide out watching from South Africa

You've started something now! I just had a Pek (which I love) and mature cheese toastie in the Cosori... I put butter on the inside and mayo on the outside of the bread, no difference than butter. It was delicious... so thank you Sharon for that idea... absolutely yummy xx

I love spam its a bit pricey,i buy princes chopped pork and ham its a bit cheaper,i use the tin opener on both ends then push it through,great vid you two❤
I sometimes have fried spam with chips and egg .martin sharon i got an induction hob i love it my son made fried bread onit and said mum the oil doesnt spit at you like cooking on a gas hob and i boiled potatoes and they cook quicker on the induction hob than the gas hob love fran xxxx

I don't have a problem getting spam out the tin don't squeeze the tin to the point it bends just lightly squeeze it and shake it out takes a few trys but comes out eventually no need to use a knife to cut round it. It takes a few times to get it rite but when you get the technique it's like riding a bike you never forget how to do it. 🤣
tulip was all ways the best bait for chub ans barbal as it was a good firm meat and stayed on the hook

You know, I don’t know it’s origin but I have a feeling it might be British. Still, be grateful the acronym doesn’t come from shoulder of Horse Italian Meat or some such 😂
It’s actually top quality stuff and isn’t cheap anymore. I gotta say, it’s remains popular with folk everywhere. I hadn’t had any in years until I saw this video (I watch all these videos from these chaps) … it’s even better than I remembered it. Especially fried to warm in through. In an air fruited sarny with cheese & onion was genius! 🤩

so to me, the spam is like , well, what it is, chopped pork n ham. and the other one is like what we called luncheon meat. used to have both in the deli in the supermarket, years n years ago

I suspect the off brand is so cheap as it could be an end of line clearance if it's only in a tackle shop. Tackle shops will sell a lot of flavoured canned foods to so the fish get enticed by the different colours and taste. Spam and luncheon meat both work well for fishing. Carp are a fish that a wide range of food will catch. From tinned meats, sweetcorn, various pulses as well as things like peanuts. As well as 'human' foods pet food works really well too.
