Thank you VERY much for this! I own a Siriu set of 3 mft’s for my Bmpcc 4ks and have a 6K and soooo disappointed they don’t make EF mounts. Glad I came across the Great Joys but don’t know much about them til this video. Thank you for all your videos. Inspiring!
3:44 theoriticaly yes but that Lumix cameras has really bad rolling shutter, at open gate rolling shutter is even worse. if you want shoot with that combo just forget fast camera movement, stick just static shots.
Hi great video. The stabilisation issue is down to the anamorphic aspect. The S5 stabilises this noticeably worse than say a 28 or 35 with a similar field of view and even worse than a spherical 50. But I think it’s just because of the stretch factor as the sides are bound to be more affected by any movement on the rolling axes.
What kind of settings did you use for monitoring? With my P6K Pro only having 1.33 and 2.0X desqueeze and my two monitors only supporting 1.33, 1.5, and 2.0, I find it a bit of a pain to monitor. I wish BM would add more desqueeze options into the cameras!
Thanks for this beautiful short film. It is lovely to see those views of the mountains. What is the monitor you used? I have trouble seeing the screen of my BMPCC 6K on sunny days. Have a nice day.
Thanks so much!! Do you mean The Feeling of Freedom ? Or the footage featured in this review? The monitor I use is a SmallHD 7 :). When I use the 6K Pro I use the built in screen.
Thanks for the feedback on this lens. I have shot 3 features with the Sirui anamorphics and love them but this lens seems to solve all of the issues I had with those lenses and now I can use on pocket 6ks. This was a demo version right? I think they are fixing the focus ring issues in production right now
Thanks for watching !! I don't think this particular one was the demo version but I think it was the very first batch. And yes I saw on FB that they were fixing the ring which is great :)
Have you ever talked about the formats and settings you mostly shoot in for clients with your BMPCC 6K: 1080/4K/6K (Proress or BRAW) and why you recommend them as your go to favorite? And what formats you rarely shoot in? Thank you. Love your channel :-)
Thanks !! I used to shoot 90% of my content in Prores 422 UHD with my bmpcc4k and 6k since it is a great codec for licensing and deliverables. Now with the Pro I shoot in 6K BRAW either 12:1 or Q5 so I can go back to Gen4 in Davinci :)
Sorry I can't understand, if the bmpcc 6k have the Ef Mount when I click on your link, first the was no lens, and the adapter is a L mount ?body is Lmount Leica, and lens is ef/s mount? can you review that?
Great review. Just a question. When pulling focus and changes squeeze factor how you can fix it in post. We have to change squeeze factor in post as well and have to zoom and crop so creates a dolly zoom effect? Or isn't that bad and noticeable pulling focus?
Thanks !! It means that you kinda have to figure out what the squeeze factor is for that specific shot. You don't notice it as much when pulling focus since you you don't 'stay' on the same subject. It's more when you move towards and away to re frame.
I'd love to get one, since I can actually shoot with a smaller setup using my Lumix S1. It has 1.8x de-squeeze in-camera, and a special anamorphic stabilisation mode. Put together, it ticks all the boxes for just using this lens handheld and light (probably still with a follow focus and cage though). The image looks great. Worth it for the price, but I'll probably still wait it out for a bit before taking a 1500 dollar plunge
@@OfTwoLands Thanks Flo! It would be great to see you test out a Blackmagic camera at some point. Hopefully the next gen of S cameras. Also, you might want to check out the Bot Army descending on your comments section, god bless their botty little hearts.
The footage looks amazing! Very different from what I'm used to. But I don't think it's for every situation because of the looks and the work flow, on the field and in postproduction.
Thanks !! I have to put black bars since I can't shoot the whole review in that format :). The footage only video I posted earlier this month is without the black bars.
I love the look you get from 1.8x or 2x but the impracticality makes it very situational for me. I’m looking forward to the loawa nanomorphs. I think they have the compromises in the right place there, where it makes it practical enough to use more broadly as an independent film maker.
@@OfTwoLands Yes if you have something like open gate on a Panasonic s1h then it is definitely a different story. I have very little personal anamorphic experience though so this is just my thoughts but the variable squeeze factor is the thing that scares me. It seems like it could be a lot of extra post production. The nanomorphs seems to be the only budget anamorphic without that problem.
Yes plz waiting for this because next month I will purchasing both ursa 12k and great joy anamorphic so it help me to understand about what cinematic footage we can get it from and we can match alexa footage too want to see a comparison also thank u love ❤️ from India 🇮🇳......
Here is my review of the Great Joy 50mm T2.9 anamorphic.
Who has / or is getting one ?
Cheers,
Flo
Just bought one based on your review. Really enjoy your work, thanks!
Great Review mate Thats a beast
Thanks mate !! Definitely a solid lens, so keen for the other two :)
The footage of Alex looks so good! xx
Thanks!! Glad we got up for sunrise :) xx
The shot of the baby in the air smiling with the lens flair ☺️. Great review!
Thanks !! It is one of my favourite shots as well :)
Absolutely beautiful organic look.
Thanks !! Big fan of the image :)
Great review Flo. Agree with everything you mentioned! 🎯
Thanks so much mate, glad you enjoyed it !!

Wow! You got awesome footage with the lens!!
☺️

the best anamorphic footage I've seen! and Yes.... I want this lens! Saving up my shekels!
Thanks so much !! It's a beautiful lens for sure :)

so for the 6k pro is the mount for the lense E or EF sounds like you said E
Really want to experiment with anamorphic lenses and adapters this year for some of my videos
It's such a different approach and experience, highly recommend it :) !!

That's it I'm getting myself an anamorphic lens!
Haha, they’re pretty cool for sure!!
I am not going to buy it but it is always a good experience to watch your reviews
😍😍
Thank you for the kind words !! :)
Hi , have you try to set the cam in the anamorphic 3.7 mode to see if the flare is better
Hi, I have tried the mode but didn't compare if it affected the flares.

Thanks a million for the prize. How can I find you on telegram?
Can you upload a video showing the difference between these lenses and a non anamorphic, like a Sigma photographing the same subject please?

I think this lens on a Panasonic cameras is a great combo!! I actually would have loved to test this on a GH6 for example.

@@OfTwoLands Great video, chapeau! I have a Lumix S5... trying to decide between this lens and sirui 1.6... any suggestion? thanks!

Thanks a lot !! It's definitely not for every situation but when it is it's pretty awesome :)
@@OfTwoLands Exactly yes! :D
On the 6K Pro do you film in the 3.7k anamporphic setting or the full 6k sensor ?
6k :)
Gosh, this lens looks good. Just wish there weren't black bars at the top and bottom of the samples.
Thanks !! I have to put black bars since I can't shoot the whole review in that format :). The footage only video I posted earlier this month is without the black bars.
how would you show true anamporhic footage without letterbox bars?
What mount did you buy? I thought the BM 6Kpro only takes EF?
EF :)
Interesting lens. Would be great to have a direct comparison with the laowa nanomorph.
I would love to test the Laowa too :)
is it possible to post some footage to test out the squeeze factors?
Can you shoot at 4K with this lens?
I love the look you get from 1.8x or 2x but the impracticality makes it very situational for me.
I’m looking forward to the loawa nanomorphs. I think they have the compromises in the right place there, where it makes it practical enough to use more broadly as an independent film maker.
It can be a bit too much yes, but I think on a full frame 4:3 1.8x looks pretty sweet and also makes more sense :)

The Panasonic s-line open gate is 3:2 not 4:3 if I remember correct. To get 4:3 you go with the new gh6 or previous version.
@@colinthomas2525 you are correct ye. Thats still a lot better than 16:9 though. :D
Can u shoot some cinematic video with it ursa 12k and these lens
I don’t have the Ursa 12k at the moment but I will as soon I get my hands on it again ☺️
