Love your Make 9 selection. As a sewist who previously made only garments, I have to say that I have ventured into bag making and love it! I've learned so much which is fun for me . New fabrics, tools, sewing techniques etc...and following some great bag makers who generously share their experiences and skills. Go for it! 😊
I literally finished my midnight sun bag last night. Andrea's is brilliant. She explains everything so clearly. I really recommend you do this one. I have been doing a more bag making recently and am really enjoying it. I really like the third row of your make 9, and the way you have put it all together 😊
I'm the other way around, I've avoided making many clothes because I'm so nervous about messing it up. However, not so much with bits and bobs like bags etc..weird! The You Tube tutorials put on here by the sewing community are amazing, really helpful and makes it feel a lot less daunting when you're going through it step by step with someone. 😊 You'll smash it, I'm sure 👍
Ah thank you ❤️ yes I agree sometimes if a pattern seems daunting it’s lovely to find a sew along, I’m quite a visual learner so I love them too! It’s easier said than done but don’t be afraid of messing anything up, I have learned so much more by getting things wrong than getting things right 😂 xx
Wonderful makes nine 😊. I like the non garments row. I have made tote bags and bottle bags. It’s nice to sew other things besides clothes and challenges you to learn new skills. All so exciting!!!! I have made the sofa tidy and it's amazing. I did it in about a day- totally fab video to go with it!!! I don't handsew but thought I might more if I had the tidy! 😅
Thank you for sharing Michelle! Lovely ideas. Don't be afraid to go for a purse (handbag)! Just read the pattern description before purchase and make sure the patterns are domestic machine friendly and invest in some varying sizes (i.e. 1/8", 1/4") double sided tape, that is safe for your needles and sewing machine. This tape will become your 3rd and 4th hands and best friends!
You've got a nice mix for your make 9, love your choices! The planning of the 'make nine' gets our creative juices flowing and thinking ahead to when the weather is better and warmer and sunnier! The planning helps us to fill in those cold nights with visions of loveliness. It's similar to planning your garden. We may not plant all those things we intended but the thought of it growing everything is very warming. Flowers and bees and veg. xx
Great variety of projects, Michelle. Bag making is so much fun and very satisfying. My advice would be to take your time and focus on one step at a time without getting overwhelmed by the bigger picture! Love the colour of your t-shirt. If really suits you.

I love your Make 9 list. I have a couple of these patterns. I purchased one of the Midnight Sun bag kit too from Andrea. I sewed it up the first week of January. It comes together quicker than I thought it would. And, I love mine. ❤😊

I love dresses and I used to have a bad habit of buying patterns for dresses which I don't get the opportunity to wear very often (live in very rural area) so now try and restrict myself to items which I know I will wear on a daily basis. I have McCall's top pattern and 2 fabrics to make with it. An eyelit white with a solid white to to go under the eyelit to make the scrappy top. A red fabric to make the top the model is wearing.
You have made some lovely choices. I really like the Big 4 top and dress. I have a store bought couch caddy, but it's boring black. Mmm might need a new one.
I am looking forward to seeing all these come together. I've recently had an idea in my head to make a bag, and I have made a couple of pattern purchases, but I do like that Midnight Sun bag - the kit looks lovely. My only worry is whether my domestic machine is up to the task, but the patterns I bought have been designed for domestic machines so hopefully it will be fine. I just need to find all the hardware as well. I also like the storage 'book' - my elastics and tapes are stuffed in plastic bags in a sewing box, and I've been thinking of ways to reorganise them.

I also want to make the Helen’s closet leggings. After making underwear and finding me-made undies way more comfortable to wear I figure leggings will be equally better if I make them to my size and fabric preferences. Looking forward to your assessment.
A lovely selection of projects :) I'm still deciding on my make 9 Watching this while sewing up a Deer and Doe Myosotis dress.... Somehow managed to see the skirt to the bodice inside out 😭 and I already removed the gathering stitches and overlocked the raw edge 😭 unpicking time!
@SewingBunny I fixed it :) and am happy with the end result, tho apparently I've put some Chonk on since the last myosotis I made 🤦🏻♀️ it's a bit snug but hopefully will fit properly soon 🤞 I'm so happy you're back in RUclips, I've missed your vlogs ❤️
I haven’t announced that I’m doing a make 9 but the 8 I didn’t do last year are still makes I’d like to do, so perhaps this year lol! I have fabric for the burnside bibs so depending on when you were looking to make them, we could sew them at the same time, perhaps a collab if you fancied. I’m trying to lose a little weight, so I probably won’t be looking to sew them until about May! Xx
