I’m a native of NYC and I live in Dallas, but I’m a lifelong Cubs fan because we lived for three years (1967-69) in Downers Grove when I was a kid. My first Wrigley game was a win against the Mets. Banks, Santo, Williams, Jenkins, Kessinger, Beckert, Hundley … what a team! Go Cubs!
Those were fun times for the Cubs during that era. How was the neighborhood back in the late 1960s?

What station on the redline did you use?
It's the Addison stop for Wrigley Field.

@@thunderpantz I took the Metra from the Homewood, IL, station. You can also get to the Red Line via the South Shore Line. You will hop on the Red Line at the Millennium Park station.
Santo is pronounced with the a like in Santa.

The Wrigley field experience was soooo much better before the renovations. The concourses now have the atmosphere of a mall food court.
I can see that, but it still holds on to its nostalgic charm. Thanks for the comment, do you make it to a lot of Cubbies games?
@@BallparkHunterI don’t intend to sound negative, but I have attended for years and my most recent visit (against the Dodgers last week), was disappointing. It used to feel magical and you could feel the history. The concourses just felt different, the first two beer stands that I visited didn’t even serve old style.
@@tonyconte9100 I'll agree with you about the lack of Old Style, that should be punishable by law at Wrigley Field!
