Spring training is an absolute treat to watch, it's like a baseball vacation. Some might think that exhibition baseball is rather boring, but I find it more relaxing than anything. There's nothing like sitting on the grassy berms in the warm Arizona sun in early March and watching your favorite team's stars, and up and coming youngsters fight for a spot on the roster. Every baseball fan should go some time.
took my wife to Scottsdale stadium today for her birthday celebration and we absolutely loved it, beautiful weather, food, beer and fun. plus the good guys won! so we were thrilled! We are padres fans ftr.
Thank you so much for posting this video about the spring training stadiums of my home state of Arizona. I can’t wait to see the grapefruit league spring training stadiums in the state of Florida.
Never underestimate the historical value of your videos. Who knew the pioneers stumbled across a multimillion $$ ballpark. Pure gold info right there. 🤷🤷
Growing up in AZ I would always drive by Tempe Diablo Park and see the giant sign saying Spring Training home of the Angles and always wanted to go to a game there
Of the ones I've been to, my favorite is Salt River Field and their concessions were great. I got the best ballpark Pizza, I've ever gotten. The nice thing about Spring Training is that you don't have to spend a fortune to have a good time, my suggestion is to visit the parks and go to the practice fields early in the morning and you can get up close to the players and then maybe see a game or two just for the actual game experience.
Can you do a World Baseball Classic 2023 video? It is coming up shortly and is only a few stadiums (maybe include the qualification stadiums that were used too). I would also love a stadiums of Buenos Aires (metro) too! There are well over 60! (Mostly soccer/football but also basketball, rugby, field hockey, polo and even, bizarrely, a baseball stadium too).
Salt River Fields is baseball heaven for me. I got to watch guys like Ketel Marte, Corbin Carroll, Alek Thomas, Gabby Moreno, Zac Gallen, and so many young stars in this league make there debuts there. One of my favorite places to be on the planet.
I lived in Tucson from 1998-2001 and at that time there were 2 spring training venues. One was Tucson Electric Park where the White Sox and Diamondbacks used for spring training and Hi-Corbett Field used by the Rockies(this is the venue used by the Indians in Major League). Sad there's no more spring training in Tucson.
I'm a short distance away from 3 of the cactus league ballparks. Talking Stick is a great ballpark. Several of these ballparks also host AZ Fall League games.
I have many great memories of going to Goodyear Ballpark with my dad and brother to watch the Guardians play Spring Training, though this was when the team was still called the Indians. We also went to Camelback Ranch and Salt River Fields. The Cactus League has some beautiful stadiums tbh
I went to a spring training game at Diablo Stadium this past year. Because of the small capacity, tickets were more expensive than regular season game tickets at Chase Field in Phoenix
I visited there in 1996. Compadre Stadium in Chandler was just abandoned by the Padres. Retuned in 08 and stadium was still abandoned and overgrown. I think it has since been demolished.
I agree with your choice of Salt River Fields, but otherwise, it's quite obvious you have never been here, or maybe you have just never watched a game here, or both. For the record, you can see Red Mountain clearly on most days, off in the distance over the center field wall at Sloan Park. The ballpark was designed to resemble Wrigley Field in some ways. Shade is also a huge issue out here, with temps hitting the 80s regularly in March. Sloan Park was designed with shade in mind and Hohokam has a lot of shade. Overall, this area has made a huge investment in the Cactus League as a tourism venue, as demonstrated by these wonderful ballparks. They all are within an hour of each other, a major advantage for the teams and fans alike.
camelback is actually named after camelback mountain, and i been to peoria stadium many times as im from sd. and honestly being from socal, phoenix even in the spring is still hot af
Nerd Note: Surprise was named by Flora Mae Statler because she said that she would be surprised if the town would amount to anything. Amazing that it now has almost 150,000 people. Going to my first Spring Training game this week!!!
Did You Know: Tempe Diablo Stadium was originally built in 1969 as the Spring Training home of the Seattle Pilots. They played there in 1970 as the Pilots before they were declared bankrupt and the team was sold then moved to Milwaukee as the Brewers.
Hohokam is pronounced HoHoCam. And another neat fact about Peoria Sports Complex is it was the first Spring Training facility in the country to be shared by 2 teams
The locals and frankly, the fans are still stymied as to why the Milwaukee Brewers decided to dump $60m into a stadium that located in a horrible part of Phoenix, Maryvale, which is also known as Scaryvale. Which is why there are rarely any night games. One needs a Bearcat just to get out of the neighborhood. My favorite is Camelback and God help me, coming the top three is also Sloan Park. Beautiful parks and great places to watch and enjoy how baseball was really meant to be done. Sadly, the league is quickly ruining spring training with ticket prices actually going for far more than regular season games. But...people are paying these absurd prices.

Awesome ballparks ⚾️
Do not forget the Grapefruit League for MLB Spring Training in Florida. Thank you.

I know what you mean.
The Indians held spring training in Tucson from 1947 to 1992.
I'm a short distance away from 3 of the cactus league ballparks. Talking Stick is a great ballpark. Several of these ballparks also host AZ Fall League games.
Baseball's preseason is second to none.
I have many great memories of going to Goodyear Ballpark with my dad and brother to watch the Guardians play Spring Training, though this was when the team was still called the Indians.

I live next to the Goodyear ballpark it looks amazing
@@ishmaelshackleford I've had great experiences at Goodyear. Though Salt River is just a gorgeous ballpark as well.
your right
I went to a spring training game at Diablo Stadium this past year. Because of the small capacity, tickets were more expensive than regular season game tickets at Chase Field in Phoenix
Thanks for the Video! Now onto the Grapefruit league
I used to live in Phoenix, and I saw a couple of games at Peoria Stadium. The weather in Phoenix during Spring Training is very comfortable.
Diablo Stadium used to host the Arizona high school baseball tournament. My school, Shadow Mountain, lost in the finals there in 1981.
A Top 14 video would be great, as you've covered all of the other major rugby competitions
I'll get to it soon.
Wow Arizona looks beautiful
The Goodyear Ballpark is a good one! The wall in center field is rather the batters-eye than a scoreboard.
Salt River complex is nice. There's an awesome hotel nearby The Great Wolf Lodge and I was able to catch a Dbacks rookie ball game in August.
I love the Cactus League. I go a ton. Camelback Ranch is like dodger home away from home
I visited there in 1996. Compadre Stadium in Chandler was just abandoned by the Padres. Retuned in 08 and stadium was still abandoned and overgrown. I think it has since been demolished.

Grapefruit League next 🤗 and thanks for getting ready for the 2023 baseball season should be interesting this year

Who put a Go Devils sign (maybe for a law firm?) outside of the Angels Spring Training facility? 4:08

Pilots played in Seattle ONLY in the 1969 season, and moved to Milwaukee in 1970
@@barrymorris1655 They played in Tempe in Spring Training as the Pilots then the regular season as the Brewers. I guess should have made that clear.
You should do The Citrus League Stadium’s
I probably will.
Grapefruit League?
love your videos man i always watch them every day
Grapefruit League
Would still love to see you rank all the Wildcats stadiums across the country
Next do the Grapefruit league stadiums
If you play club baseball in Arizona, there's a good chance you've played at a few of these complexes and maybe even on a couple of the big fields
The USA never stops to amaze me. They build like 10 solid stadiums in a single city for a TRAINING CAMP? damn they got too much money
you should visit Arizona we have a lot of stadiums here the biggest is the state farm stadium
Have you done a grapefruit league stadiums?
With all that's happening in Oakland, The Arizona A's sounds good right!
Do wnba arenas next
Sweet! You made this video!
Hohokam is pronounced HoHoCam.

I wish you could do the stadiums of Allsvenskan, Swedens top division in football

Tip of the cap, you actually did pronounce Hohokam correctly.
I live super close to Goodyear Ballpark and it's an amazing Spring Training stadium and I've been there a couple of times
I live right by JetBlue Park and Hammond Stadium in the Grapefruit League
Do the Turkish league stadiums 😄 my favorite team is Galatasaray

Do VFL Stadiums
I was today years old when I learned that the *Angels* play in *Diablo* stadium...
i live near the good year ballpark
6:12 RIP Cacti Guy
Maybe the Cubs could line that outfield wall with a more suitable plant like cactuses
Good idea. I can't see what could go wrong with that.
I didn't realize the Reds and Indians shared a stadium.
I'll bet the A's wished they played in Hohokam Stadium all year round! 😉
City of Goodyear is the closest city to LA that has a Ray’s BBQ.
lol, Oakland's spring training stadium looks better than their home
do northwoods league
Arizona Diamondbacks
Ho Ho Cam
