In this tutorial, I'll show you how to cut a large, baggy t-shirt into a braided racerback tank top. For the braided racerback, you can use the sleeves from the t-shirt you cut or mix up the colors with sleeves from other t-shirt projects. You can also use ribbon or shoelaces!
Materials:
• T-shirt (larger in size)
• Tape (any kind easy to remove)
• Sewing thread (or Liquid Stitch, optional)
Tools:
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Sewing needle (optional)

Made one of these for a Color Run using a cheap white t-shirt from Michaels. I had issues with the neckline in the front being too baggy and I can't figure out how to remedy it, but I think it will serve it's purpose just fine.

I have a larger men's tee I would like to use, but the best pattern (what I would like on the front of the tank) is on the back. it's a large pattern about 12" wide that could be trimmed down on any side without looking silly. Since I'd be cutting out both the neckline and the sleeves, I don't see any reason I couldn't make it backwards, correct? I'm not seeing an issue, but since I'm a rookie at this, I'd like to make sure before I start slicing it up! Thanks!
