As it should be, there's three life bars for each player. Killing a character is like doing a 33% damage combo.

It was mostly shady k and clockwork that worked on this game. Justin just gave input.
Seeing Ryu wall to wall grounded is not something I have seen since TvS. Getting all those vibes here and I love it.
Justin didn't make this game. He was the face for the game at the beginning to try to get people on onboard through his clout.
Just like MVC: Infinite, this game is seriously slept on. I really do hope Ryu & Chun helps the game get more attention & get a sequel. It's a pipedream but it would nice if the TMNT or one DC character makes it in.
The AI in this game is just flat-out the best AI in any fighting game. They really help you develop better habits by actually performing infinite combos!

I thought it was just me who had problems with this game on normal. Man, the computer is rough. It's like they took play data from Justin Wong or whomever playtested it, put it in the game, and let loose. In other words, if you thought about those possibilities, the computer has before you. But, it does definitely force you to improve your skills.
Did they change the AI difficulty? As soon as I downloaded the patch for ryu & chun-li, I started getting crumb stomped. Even with characters I main I was still having trouble and getting fought in goddamn infinites. It’s like they wanted to increase how hard the game played so SF players coming over wouldn’t cheese the game
Just bought the super edition last night. Holy shit the combos in this game are so fun to figure out. Ryu and Chun Li are the icing on the cake.

Can you imagine Ryu and Chun in the context of the original series, though? Tommy could handle 4 monsters solo at his peak, so what would these two do? Just roll up on Zedd's palace and feed him the curb?
They might be on par with Tommy. They're good but not god-like. Especially if they were students of Angel Grove back in 93. Although I could see Ryu be a bit more of a challenge for Zedd.
What? Zedd is a planetary level being, Ryu is not even city level. Zedd, in character, would one-shot Ryu. I don't think Ryu would be able to handle Zedd's thunderstorms which he uses casually. Ryu is at best supersonic, Zedd is massively FTL.
I remember thinking same as you, but the power rangers despite being a children's show has some insane feats, no way anything from street fighter can put up a fight with the higher tiers.
Yeah but Chun and Ryu are superhuman bad asses without ranger suits/training. I'd be boring for them to be far and away more powerful than all the rangers, but the suits would still give them a massive power boost.

Tommy is basically at the peak of human ability unmorphed. Morphed, he constitutes a whole ranger team unto himself.
Ryu and Chun have chi control and, depending upon how crazy you want to get, have fought beings like Onslaught and Galactus.
Ergo, their morphed forms would probably be insanely powerful.

The fact that Ryu was mapped as something familiar is going to make switching between two games (in a technical sense) a chore to get used to.
I personally don't think so.
I play Baiken in both AC+R and Xrd as well as playing Nago in both Strive betas (Slidey traingle jumper for reference).
Once you spend the time your muscle memory does the work for you. If its your main team that difference is gona dissappear in your first hour.

@@MrFiekie123 I meant professional as in he makes a living playing video games. Don't have to be a tournament player to do that. Of course the history he has helps as well.
Considering the character is almost exactly how he was in MvC, I can safely say that max knows how the character works for the most part.
Everytime I think of single directional inputs in a classic 2d fighting game, I have to be reminded that Blade Strangers exists

When you said that, I've keep thinking a Cave Story character in a fighting game.
Blade strangers is cool when players play super unga bunga..... Issue is half the cast has cheesy projectiles that make faster pace play pointless. I play Quote who is just unga Curly, his projectiles have less range but lead into more combos and mix ups.
For as wacky as Blade Strangers is, I am glad to see more Unga Quote mains and possible Cave Story fans as well

I love how if you can think of something to do in this game, there's a good chance you can do it as long as it fits in the games infinite prevention systems. So much fun to come up with combos.
Now we just need more marvel and capcom characters in this game and we got our selves a new mvc .

I gotta say this is the most fun I've had playing Ryu and Chun in any game they've been in, also their theme songs are bangers. Really hope we get some more Capcom characters like Felicia and Talbain.

@@Waveburd pretty accurate. In my opinion I feel like the only reason in MVCI failed was because of the lack of X-Men and FF characters. They also made the dumb decision to go back to 2 v 2. This game is an underground gem
Yes and no, the attack system is pretty simplistic, there are no motion inputs and many things you would do as a special move are just Right + Super Punch, but in the overall view it's pretty chaotic, MVC style.
Cutting a member from my team was the hardest thing I've had to do to slot in Ryu.
His Touch of deaths are so fun. Being able to ground bounce after grounded super also adds a lot.
I wouldnt be mad if they added extra EX attacks to the other characters.

I was honestly hoping this game would cross over with the dozen or so other Saban-owned Sentai shows. Beetle Borgs, Mystic Knights, Kamen Rider, and so much more!

Yeah, this was done in a day, but not in five minutes. It took him time to get the muscle memory down even if the chat, twitter and his own mind finding new paths was helping him see what he could do faster. Max's ability to understand it and to just get it is really great.
Okay, the "Class of '93" thing kinda weirds me out a bit, because that's the year _I_ graduated from high school.

The king of crossovers finally got into a power rangers game. At this point anything is possible.
He was already in one in Legacy Wars. Sure, it was a mobile game but still.
These are my favorite videos on the channel, just Max labbing new characters in training mode and finding combo routes. There's something really relaxing about them, I think this is the closest I get to understanding the appeal of ASMR lol
When I got my hands on Ryu I looked at one video of someone doing a T.o.D and I made my own shortly after. Granted it's a corner T.o.D that is not at all practical and I'm never gonna land it cause I suck, but it's so fun learning and eventually making combos that are either super good, super flashy, or both.
Same it took me hours to come up with a TOD with RJ I landed it once but I can only get people 20% health remaining but besides that its fun to lab in this game.
I've really like how Max says 'cool'. It got that Big Lebowski air to it

A Battle for the Grid 2 needs to be in the works.
It's way to early for that and either way the game is still getting more content in the future.
I am always surprises with Max Ability to Discover combos. As much as I love fighting games This is one of the parts that I always have problems with(aside of been Just A casual player and really bad at them) Seen people with this much skill to discover is always fun!

A bit disappointed about the lack of a special button; as a Seth main in SF5 I've learned how satisfying a one button shoryuken really is. Granted I've yet to pick up Battle For The Grid (the moment it goes on sale I will, but I always wait for a sale on anything where I plan to get a lot of DLC), so I can't really comment on the overall gameplay aspects of that, but still, out of nowhere easy SRK's are just super fun.
Though the fact they actually gave them a MVC3 button setup is amazing to me. I really need to play more Marvel 3, I kind of skipped over it for some reason, despite Firebrand and Tron Bonne being my top 2 Capcom characters (third would be Devilot if you're wondering). I messed around with them a bit, but never really got into it.

This game is severely underrated. I honestly think it’s the best modern fighting game. I think it’s like every platform cross play. It’s like marvel. Yes it’s broken when you get hit or mixed but that’s the fun of marvel staying out of those situations. High risk intense marvel footsies.

Hmm I have this game on my switch I might need to get into it. I’m horrible in fighting games but this is the only person on RUclips that can encourage me to play any fighting game.
Combo Juggling looks pretty fun as hell, but I'm only 30 and my reflexes slowed down to even do something like this, and that makes me sad :(
That's an excuse homie,I'm 38 an I just copy an pasted Max's combos... took me an hour tho! Keep at it!
No one is expecting anyone to do TOD'S right out the gate and even then they only really matter until high gold rank and above online. Not to make it sound condescending but in comparison to something like MVC3 OR KOF13, TOD'S are pretty easy to do in BFTG and this is coming from someone who hates TOD's and long combos like the plague. Take things slow and you'll get the hang of it, you'll make it up the mountain or at least however high you want to go.
Combo skills are less about reflexes and more about muscle memory and rhythm, optimally you shouldn't have to react to things beyond your hit confirm to start the combo, or your opponent employing an escape button option, once they're trapped, you just go, let the training take you while you adjust for space(eg catching the combo in the corner vs mid-stage)
It takes practice, but not particularly reflexes

"Hundreds" Unfortunately Saban's a scumbag so most of the Tokusatsu shows are off-limits, it'd just be the Power Rangers shows he managed to localize before Japan stopped letting him have things(thus why there's barely any modern Kamen Rider or Power Rangers shows, they can't be localized because Saban wrote exploitative contracts back when no one realized the implications that give him exclusive international rights, and they're tired of his bullshit, said contracts is also why he can just straight up make a Power Rangers movie at a whim), or the other shows he got like Mystic Knights of Tir na Nog or the few Kamen Rider series he got

When you really think about it, Ryu and Chunners are facing Super Heroes and Villians so the Mahvel moveset makes perfect sense
