I have just bought the S5. Very impressed so far, and actually the auto focus is much improved over previous models I feel. It’s perfectly usable in the right circumstances now. Other than that not much wrong with it, it’s very robust feeling. Great video
That's awesome! Both Berend and I barely use auto focus when filming, but it's amazing to hear that you're so positive about it.

Excellent video, well done. I also feel that everything said in this video also applies to the GH5, and more so the GH5II. Since the GH5/II have more video specific features, it excels even more, especially with a speed booster…

That's what I aim for!
I got this camera yesterday, not sure why people are saying AF is bad I found it to be great. Coming from d750, EOS R and a7r iii, I find the AF especially for photographs excellent, it's very quick and decisive to focus (using 20-60 lens). Also for video it's excellent, and the pdaf/dual pixel of sony and eos R was definitely not perfect. The layout of buttons and just functionality the camera is amazing. I just wish they kept the silent mode switch toggle on the front like the G9 or the s1. My only gripe is the crop in 4k 60 but other than that the camera is perfect - now if only L mount had more native Panasonic glass
I'm happy the AF works great for you! You can always get the silent mode switch back by assigning it to a function button.
@@felixkruip yeh swapped it with fn 1 that normally brings up the level - great camera high ISO video is cleaaan

Hi I currently shoot with a Nikon DSLR. My video and photo is for social media. I was going to buy a Z camera but noticed the S5 has 10 bit. Will this make a difference in video, will it be easier to grade than 8 bit. Im a very basic grader - for instance I shoot in Nikons flat profile and just add a bit of contrast and maybe some sharpening in post. I cant figure if 10 bit will be useful or needed.
You should review the shp9500 people have said they’re one of the best open back headphones in general

Personally, I think the Panasonic V-log that also comes with the S5 is still superior when it comes to color accuracy. As Gerald Undone proved, s-log from the a7III tends to be a bit more purple overall. Although, I believe that when using the official Panasonic V-log to Rec.709, the skin tones are a bit red-ish in my experience.
Regarding stabilization, both cameras are great.
Furthermore, I have no clue what the difference is between both the kit lenses.
