agreed 100 percent. I always mention this about Steven to anyone who will listen. I love his style and what he comes up with. To someone who doesn't know any better it sounds simple but it isn't (not to me) and his beats are very creative but not over the top obnoxious drummer shit. I'm a guitar player and have had my battles with drummers and even though the best I can do it keep a simple beat on a kit I know coming up with these beats is way more difficult than people think

No, not really. Compare the debut (And 'Lies' to a lesser extent) to anything that followed. This is one of those examples of synergy. Izzy complimented Slash (And vice-versa), while Stevie's groove meshed up with Duffs base. That by chance combination, once changed, ceased to exist. The original five were synergy, pure and simple. I think you are neglecting to see that they've all had this horrible upbringing. Axl Rose, despite what everyone believes was not the reason he was put out of this band. They had a contract in which they all had to agree to no drugs or be taken out of the group. They all complied but for him he could not break the habit nor would he go get help. In fact quite the opposite, he brought harm upon the rest of them due to a heroin situation that he brought right on home. As much as I like Steven and have sympathy and empathy for him, he did have the option to do as the rest of them did.

Listening to GnR for the first time, with this screechy voice on vocals, this guitar dude with a top hat, this bassist and rythym guitarist putting it together, and then hearing those beats of your just made my hair stand on end. It was my daily ritual, before homework, food or saying hello to my folks (who were cool enough to allow such shenanigans at such a young age). It was definitely the first album I could sit and play from start to finish and I learned more about time keeping and being a pocket player from that experience than any metronome could've taught me. Besides, what kid wants to sit with a practice pad and a metronome? I dunno, maybe some but I was definitely not that kid.

No polish..no girly makeup..just some guys you might find at the local biker bar. That image or anti image was carried through to the way they played music. Appetite for Destruction is one of my favorite albums of all time and probably my favorite DRUM album. The groove and swing that Steven put down on every track is just phenomenal. I'm nowhere near the drummer that Steven is, but his style is very much like my own natural drum style. I love his power and feel for each song. Nice to see him looking good and sounding great!

To me, each and every single guy in the original GnR line up was irreplaceable. Steve, Izzy, Axl,Duff, and Slash, without all 5 of those guys GnR was never same to me. They each brought something special to the band, an ingredient that was unique to those 5 individual guys. I'm not going to say Sorum sucks, because he is a good drummer. But he doesn't add anything to GnR, he could be replaced with any other drummer and it won't make a difference. But Steve Adler is irreplaceable. I guess most bands are like that, and it makes sense, a band is the sum of it's parts. I am beyond disappointed that Steve is not on this so-called reunion. What he brings to the table can not be measured, he is a vital component of that first record. Nobody can play those Appetite For Destruction songs like Steve can. He absolutely owns those songs... in a rhetorical sense, not a legal sense. Cheers.
