I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.
Guns N’ Roses original drummer Steven adler would be with the group from it’s inception in 1985 until 1990, when he was fired. Adler would play on the group’s landmark record Appetite for Destruction and their follow up ep gn’r lies, but it was during the recording of their double album use your illusion 1 and 2 he was fired from the group due to his drug use that hampered the recording of the album. But 20 years after appetite for destruction came out, Adler would be kidnapped by his own brother. Let’s explore what happened in today’s video
It was shortly after his firing from Guns N’ Roses, Adler sued his former bandmates alleging they made him sign away his rights to any royalties from his time in the band. In 1993 the suit would be settled out of court. In the subsequent years he would be involved a bit in music, at one time claiming he auditioned for AC/DC and started a band called The Road Crew, in addition to playing a brief stint with the band bullet boys. The 2 decades following his firing saw Adler involved heavily with drugs and have numerous run ins with the law. In 1996, Adler would suffer a stroke from his drug use that would forever impact his speech
By 2007 things hadn’t improved in his life and he was on death’s doorstep. It would be his younger brother who would kidnap Steven in a last ditch effort to save his life.
Hailing from Cleavland Ohio, the Adler’s were middle class Jewish Family. Steven’s mother Deanna had two sons from two different fathers Deanna would eventually relocate to Los Angeles where she met another ohio native Melvin Adler who adopted both of her sons who were now 10 and 7, one was named Kenny and the other Michael. Michael would eventually be renamed Steven. Then three years later Deanna gave birth to her third son Jamie. Jamie would tell Yahoo entertainment My father was a real street guy, he lived this crazy life,” “He would always tell me stories about Cleveland. … His friends being blown up in cars or murdered. I was like, ‘No way this is all true.’” In 2011 hollywood would put out a film kill the irishman that contained many of the same tales Jamie heard from his dad as a kid.
His Dad’s job weren’t that wholesome either as he worked for Southern pacific railroad before becoming a bookie, where he employed Jamie to answer phones for him. Despite coming from a big family, Jamie admitted to feeling lonely since he was considerably younger than his brothers and Steven was rarely around getting into so much trouble, that he was eventually exiled to his grandparents house in hollywood. Jamie would tell Yahoo
“He was always this wild, crazy guy,”. “Never believed in rules. … He’d just stay out all hours of the night, partying and getting wasted. But my brother in my eyes could do no wrong. Whenever I saw him, he would give me the biggest hug.”
By 1985 Steven Adler became the drummer for Guns N’ Roses who by 1986 bagged a multi-album deal with Geffen Records. The following year they’d release their debut record Appetite for Destruction whose title perfectly encapsulated Steven’s personality. Jamie would reveal to Yahoo that by the end of 1987 he first learned of his brother’s drug addiction. Doug Goldstein who worked as part of Guns N’ Roses management told Steven’s parents about the dangerous behavior and assured his parents Steven was going to rehab in Arizona for a full month.
But by the time Steven’s parents planned on visiting him in arizona at the treatment center, he left after only three days.
By the time Appetite for Destruction blew up the sales charts in 1988 Steven had shut out most of his family from his life with with Jamie telling yahoo “He basically never left the house for the next two years,”. “Steven didn’t talk to us. He disowned us because he was in this downward spiral.” It was over the next several years Steven would reconcile with his family only for it to fall apart. Then in August of 1990 Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose would announce to the world that Steven Adler was fired from Guns n’ Roses during an interview on MTV with Kurt Loder.
It was by the mid 90’s and subsequent decade that JAMI

It's a helluva lot easier to tell someone that they're not alone in their addiction, than it is to get them to truly believe it.
Addiction is such an incredibly lonely disease. I've been addicted to H for 9 years now, and I can't tell you how many times family & close friends have told me that if I ever want to try to quit they'd do anything at all to help me. In the last 4 years I've tried taking 4 people up on that offer. Believe me when I tell you that every. single. one. told me "Omg of course, no problem!", only for each one of them to make up some phony excuses as to why they had to cancel the next day and "reschedule", only for them to then never again mention it to me. It's exhausting mentally & physically when you finally decide to swallow your pride & ask someone for help that had offered it, only for them to realize they had said to me because they never actually really expected me to take them up on their offer. But to them, they knew that that's what a friend is "supposed" to say to another friend who's struggling with addiction. Say all the right words & clichés, but then cross your fingers that you'll never actually be asked for help. That way you still come off as a super supportive friend/family member and can always later say "Omg why didn't you come to melee? I've always told you that I'd do anything to help you get clean whenever you wanted to! Man, I really wish you would've called me instead of "X".", etc. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Steven was not fired from GNR because of his drug use. They were all partying pretty hard at that time (maybe not Izzy so much). Steven was fired from GNR because of an incident where Axl's then-girlfriend Erin Everly wound up in Steven's bed, ODing on heroin. Axl jumped to some erroneous conclusions, as Hanoi Rocks founder Andy McCoy's wife Angela (Izzy Stradlin's former girlfriend) brought Erin to Steven's house in that condition (after Erin had fled to her & Andy's place...they were all neighbors...after Axl beat the snot out of her) & Steven merely allowed her to lie down in his bed while they all awaited the ambulance. No one's sure where the heroin came into play, as Angela SWEARS she only gave Erin a Valium to calm her nerves.

I heard something about that at the time. Axl DID nearly beat one of his ladies to death. He and Steven DID disagree, a lot.
But a drummer on heroin, which Steven was, is not going to be up to practice, much less studio and tour, and Axl was always a touch Diva, and a media banquet.
It wasn't working, and Steven did NEED cut back and there just isn't many ways to help somebody that don't want help and he didn't. He admits that, never hid the fact.

I always thought that it was a really shitty thing the rest of GNR did to Steven,to hit a guy when he's down and out, without much money from his substance abuse issues, and probably willing to sign anything. And these guy's were supposed to be his bandmates, his so called brothers.

I was chasing bobcats with a stick when four bright headlights up in the sky lit me up. It looked like a 68 Chevelle SS396. I may or may not have been on drugs at the time?

Why nobody tells the truth about the Transporter SE, witch was a Pontiac and not an Ambulance sponsored by Dainese because of 8-bits ghostbusters... 🗨😉🧥🎭🚙🛶🐱㊙️
