LEGO Star Wars 4482 AT-TE Review! (2003)

- In 2003 we the first LEGO Star Wars AT-TE set was released and it has aged surprisingly well. With 4 Clone Trooper Minifigures it allows you to spread them throughout the AT-TE's Cabin, Cannon, Speeder, and troop bay! There's not many play functions but I still love this classic LEGO Star Wars playset and would recommend anyone smitten with nostalgia pick one up!

This is a top 10 classic LEGO Star Wars set. Hopefully this Summer's AT-TE is a Top 10 modern set...
It’s hopefully going to have a good amount of clones for once, because Clone Sets usually don’t come with enough clones
MandR are you exited for the new AT-TE?
when you making onlyfans... I'm waiting :(
@@nikolajvollesen9639 who isnt tbh
lets hope it is
I thought you had gotten the new set early my heart nearly spiked
Lol me too I was so excited
Same lol
Same. For a second I thought he had found it before even pictures had leaked. I was like “new record Ryan!”🤣🤣🤣
You read my mind lol
Lmao me too, I was about to wonder how promo bricks hadn’t gotten pictures yet
Can’t wait to see what lego can do with the at-te this time around
Imagine buying this set for $15 back in the day and selling it for $500+. That's kinda crazy.
I also can't help but notice those clones and droids back in the day are so expensive now. I would probably just pick up the clones them the at-te.

I think your parents are time travelers ( :
@@davidstrainsandlego This has got to be the one thing that they’ve held onto that would make me believe that.
@@AnxietyAdvertisement same thing happened with me when I collected wrestling figures, my step dad told me to keep certain ones in the package - he knew they would be worth something someday just by looking at the guy in the box. I used the old age excuse of "toys were meant to be played with" but what I didn't realize, was how much some of those old figures actually go for nowadays still in the box!
Can't help it though, we were kids, action figures were meant to be played with, Legos were meant to be build and taken apart, both come in a box and the only way to get at them is by taking them out of that box. :)
@@wxl2562 Haha! They had a good eye for it! Also yes I totally agree, I played with EVERY SINGLE other lego set that my parents got me.
My star wars collection would be insane but I had so much fun building, playing and then destroying my legos.
I can’t imagine my parents telling me to not to open my Lego set when I was a kid lol
Fond memories of this thing. My brother and I each got one shortly after Christmas. It was the first time i'd ever really used Technic pieces. Having an entire Clone squad in 1 set was awesome.
This looks like a great set, besides the clone troopers misprints and the sand blue tiles!
how do you not like the sand blue daddy

Just wanna say this: their helmet is actually more accurate than modern ones, as it has this part to cover the neck. That's incredible detail for this period,
Loved this set as a kid. Can't wait for the refresh this summer! I haven't gotten an AT-TE since then.
same!
This was a very fun set to play with when I was a kid. I got this set the Christmas after it was released and my brother got the Republic Gunship. Needless to say that we played with the sets at the same time and spent many hours of fun together! I love your channel, Ryan! Keep up the good work with set reviews.
I own this set, original box and instructions. Assembled on on display in my living room. Thanks for reviewing this.
This was a great set to review. This is not exactly my favorite vehicle from the SW universe, but as a piece of Lego history I really enjoyed this
I got this for christmas when i was about 12 years old, right after i falled in love with the Clone Wars. The amount of love for this video just 8 seconds in cant be measured.
When I was a kid I would have loved getting this set. I can remember to see it in the classic catalogue and I was so overwhelmed from the set, just like I was from the AT-AT! Absolutely love these older, yet very nostalgic sets!
The OG clone trooper is just the way to go :)
This wave was always one of my favorites
I own a used 2002 LAAT set, everything is still included, except for the Super Battle Droid having a broken arm. It was incredibly dusty when I bought it from a collector. I adore the style of 2002/2003 Star Wars AOTC sets.
Watching reviews of sets like this is so naustalgic

Man, this is giving me so much nostalgia. I never owned the set, but I have loved those things since I first played the OG Battlefront I
Those mint phase 1 / episode 2 clones are 🔥
something i love about this and is lacking in a lot of sets now is a lot of interior space a set now would probably have space for 1 fig and some weapons
I guess we'll see in a couple months. But I don't think that's gonna be the case
I have this set and I absolutely love it, I’ve had it for probably like almost 10 years, I originally bought it off eBay used, the only issue I’ve had with this set is that if you push down too much on this model, the legs will snap off because they’re only connected by bricks.
Hey man, congrats on passing David Hall in subs. Nice to see a youtuber who speaks his mind and doesn't sell out to corporations have such success!
Oh yeah... I bet surpassing a dead channel was such a hard task.... :eyeroll:
I think the worst thing about this set is obviously that the pilot can’t double as a clone commander.
@epicgamer3560 poggers
Cant wait for the new AT-TE
Can’t believe this thing used to be 15 dollars 🤯
I was borned in the wrong generation....
15 dollars in 2003 is the equivalent of 23.57 today
@@hideofreakingkojima5457 still absolutely amazing considering the new one is 180$! 60$ normally for that thing is amazing!
@Jawa ye
it didn’t used to be 15.. that was just a one-off price discount that someone got lucky with it. it officially retailed for 60
by far one of my favourite sets
Fun Fact: The old greys are officially known as “Dark Grey” and “Light Grey”, whereas the new greys are known as “Dark Bluish Grey” and “Light Bluish Grey”.
This was my dream when I was little. Now Im 28yo and waiting for New at te to fulfill my dream 😍😍
Goated set. Episode 2 reigns.
Me heart started pounding like the ultra sound when I was born the second I saw at te review I was thinking it was the new one
I really like your philosophy (ig you could call it) of buying sealed sets specifically to experience opening them, imo way better than buying something sealed to keep it that way, especially a toy
Same. I recently opened a 1999 droid fighter. It's not exactly an expensive set (even after 20 years it only cost a little over £10) but there was something so nice about getting those old parts in mint condition.
1:10 I recently acquired a sealed LEGO Rock Raiders HQ from 1999, my #1 most wanted set of all time as I grew up with Rock Raiders, and I feel the same way you do about opening old sealed sets! I'm just gonna keep it sealed for a little longer to relish the feeling of owning it sealed but I can't wait to crack into it at last. 23 years in the making, baby.
¨The top of the box individually names each of the clone troopers, as well as showing you the actual size¨ 😂🤣
I’ve got this set and it is great!
Great review!
Aw yes the very iconic clone trooper squad Clone Trooper, Clone Trooper, Clone Trooper, and Clone Trooper.
A cool idea for a video would be pre-1999 Lego star wars mocs. I saw a picture from 1996 where someone had made a MOC of the sandcrawler in black. Apparently R2D2 brick built figures could be really odd looking too
Thanks for reviewing it! I’m looking forward to getting the new one! with all the said clone minifigures!
I loved Lego Star Wars as a kid, and between kindergarten year and seventh grade I got new legos every Christmas (sometimes birthday). Always wanted at least one big set a year. This was the one I got in about 3rd grade or so (maybe 4th?) I got it a year after my all time favorite gunship.
This AT-TE that I got though came with several missing pieces, the only time that has ever happened to me. Back then and at that age I was crushed. It has always been the one set that eluded me! I’ve always held a weird hatred for AT-TEs ever since…
Thank you very much for reviewing this set! I’m actually looking to get the new one coming out (as an adult now lol) because of my failed experience as a kid, and because ROTS is my favorite movie and the Utapau sequence is some of my all-time favorite Star Wars.
Ask MandR: how much better will the 2022 AT-TE set be hypothetically if it comes out? Also, will Lego release different versions of gunships like a Muunilinst 10 version?
I wish they would but judging by the fact they haven’t made a playscale/minifig scale on in 9 years, I doubt it.
@@mrsrugges1973 ik it’s annoying and disappointing
Thousands of times better
Hey, what exactly is your first question referring to ?
@@nwww4067 how much better will the new at te be
Found this set at a retro toy store for 70$ Canadian. It had every piece came with all the mini figs in prime condition unfortunately no box but its proudly displayed next to my army.
I hope that the new one isn’t over priced.
I recently managed to get the 2002 Gunship (missing stickers, Bob and the droids but had the clones) for £60 and honestly it's one of the best purchases I've ever made.
Those original P1 Clones might just be my favourite figures ever and the Gunship still holds up. Would love to find an AT-TE to go alongside it (and maybe a box of 150 Clones lol).
@UCMMFCOCq7-zvMvBIydUMS4w yeah it's supposed to have a big sticker on the each wing, some big ones down below the cockpit and some orange triangles up the sides.
Bro I love the nostalgia of that old neon green window color
you scared the crap out of me, thought it was the rumour of this years model haha
"Individually names each clone trooper"...
Clone Trooper, Clone Trooper, Clone Trooper, Clone Trooper 😂😂😂
I got this set when it came out and still have it (with minor playwear). I loved it then and now (main reason I've never bought any of the newer ones). To me, it is the crown jewel of my clone army (prequel) collection. It does have a full complement of clone troopers now. :)
I was literally looking for a review on the old at te the other day, so thank you
What a awesome video set review 👏 MandR Productions 😎👌👍😀🙂
Cool can't wait for the summer one
Props to LEGO for naming each clone i would have never known the top left figure was a clone😀
5:12 - 5:15 reminds me of what a Lego Star Wars designer said about a clone in a certain UCS set
The best aspect in my opinion with this set, is the angle of the outer 4 legs, they are angled so well with the inward camber, really with that the newer at-te sets had this design aspect:(
I remember you building this on the livestream!
honestly the old builds peaking in 2016 were so much more exciting and enchanting then most of the later stuff, love it
that sticker on the cockpit's rlly flush, good job on that man
At 1:32: Technically, there were some Technic sets before this that had numbered bags. Particularly the Star Wars "Big figs" from between 2000 and 2002, and some of the larger Harry Potter sets from the theme's first two years had them. In some cases, there were sets (such as one in the "Arctic" theme) which had "graphic bags" with a picture of the model whose parts were inside, instead of numbers. Around 3:53: The original light gray was oddly present in a few other places after this time period-particularly in education kits until 2010. In spite of its prevalence here, the 3x12 shells w/ bow angle in that color are exclusive to this set. The shade of red featured in this set is officially known as "New Dark Red", and it has been in use since 2001. It has sometimes been referred to as "Metru red" because of its prevalence in the "Metru Nui" arc of Bionicle among sets of characters of the fire element. I've never heard of parts in that color being fragile until now. Even so, the 4x4 plate w/ 4 knobs, Technic "cross block" and triangular sign w/ snap in that color are exclusive to this set, and this is the second and final appearance of the 4x8 23-degree "wing plates" in that color, having debuted in the first version of Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter (7143) the prior year. Some parts which debuted in that color here, would appear in fewer than ten sets after this, such as the 1x1x5 brick which was actually retired last year. The wheel hub in that color was only in a "Drome Racers" set (8376) in October 2003 and the Technic Fork-Lift (8416) in June 2005 before being retired. The 1x4x3 and 1x2x3 wall elements in transparent fluorescent green are also exclusive to this set. Even if it's out of place, this is also the only set to have the 2x3 inverted roof tile in sand blue. While mostly seen in bulk bricks packs, the 1x3 25-degree roof tile in that color was also in just one standard set (31118) before being retired last year. The 2x4 brick in sand blue was only in two other sets from the "Alpha Team" theme (4743 and 4770) before being retired. The 1x2 plate w/stick in that color was also in two Alpha Team sets (4742 and 4774) and the mini Sith Infiltrator (4493) before being retired. This is also the first of only five sets to have the 1x6 brick w/bow in "Mata blue", and even the 1x12 brick in that color was retired two years ago.
dog you can't just drop this video out of nowhere with all of these rumors. You almost gave me a heartattack
The backwards blaster on speeder bikes is the speeder bike blaster. As a kid I always thought it was directly in the front, but at-least with the RotJ style speeders, the blaster itself is under the main body.
It's actually supposed to be an air intake in this case.
My heart went brr for about 5 seconds before I read the whole title
Amazing after 20 years this is still the best AT TE we've ever gotten in terms of many figures it gave us just the right amount of clones something lego still has yet to give us again
Hopefully this summer will be good
Yeah the clone behind the green glass looks great!
Please make a full Comparison between Mandos Naboo tarfighter and the 2015 one!
man this really makes me hyped for the new one
Dude. This set is sick and I’m so jealous
That a fantastic set!
Wishing to get the 2013 version to compare it with the 2022 with Cody Phase 2
Love your vids and May the force be with you !
Still have this set and still a big fan!
I just got this in the form of a giant 50 pound bin of LEGO. Hopefully I'll find time to find all the pieces and put it together lol
Man, 2002 Phase 1 clone trooper figures just hit different.
So hyped for the new AT-TE!
i have this set with some pieces with bite marks, but it's still a masterpiece from the past
I am so glad I saved this set from my parents basement, got it around the time it was released, and is now sitting on my display shelf.
I just saw the notification of your video and I have to see it (I was going to study but screw the studying).!
Bro uploaded the video I was looking for last week
I totally agree I just bought vaders advanced tie fighter yesterday sealed minty box for $150 which seems a lot for about a 250 piece set but was totally worth being able to open it up and get that new sticker sheet and minty fresh cape 😍
0:53 Ah for you see that is not Jedi Bob… that is my brother, Jedi John!
I remember building set with the perforated bags instead of numbered bag. Have to dump them into bowls and separate pieces
Who ever gave up this set is brave, and I respect them for that
I’ve heard that the brittle LEGO problem started around 2007 or 2008. Any sets from before then probably won’t have any issues with being brittle.
Yeah they changed dark red in the late 2000s which is when the problems started. This dark red is a bit lighter than the really brittle one.
When he said 15 dollars I actually spit the food out of my mouth
“it is a bit tough to pull out” - mandr out of context
I got one of these for $80 two years ago. Definitly a favorite of my clone sets
9:55 Maybe they were going to make 501st versions of the 2005 clone and release an at te around 2005 with them and Anakin....
Ask mandr do you think phase 2 cody will be 2020 style or as we see him in the skywalker saga
The most only thing is missing is that OG phase 1 clone trooper battle pack.
I'll never forget in 2nd grade we had a "lego club" at recess and everyone used to get super jealous whenever someone came with those clone troopers
I’ve always wanted this! Might get it.
I remember having an old lego catalog and this set was in it, I wanted it so bad
Real quick I think I have a theory on the new AT-TE coming out this year. So I don’t think it’s based on Revenge of the Sith I think it is based on the last season of the clone wars. In the beginning part of the Mandalore arc we see the battle with Cody and the 212th. There are AT-TE’s in the battle on the bridge and the reason there is a spider droid instead of a Crab droid in this set is because if you watch the actual battle there are spider droids but no crab droids. Also in that battle there were no airborne troopers just regular phase 2 212th troops so it explains why in the set it doesn’t include any airborne troopers since they were very prevalent in Revenge of the Sith
This actually makes a lot of sense
Just any of the 2003 sets I want to get a hold of used. But new would be awesome.
I have this set but I turned it into a muunilist 10 design and added some interior space including an extra seat in the cockpit and moved the turret back to be more accurate
I picked this up used on eBay for 100$ abiut 2 years back. What a steal
Opening an old Lego set is like opening a old time capsule theirs old advertisements and those old Lego bags so cool love these vids of old Lego
This is my dream lego set 😍
Can’t believe you still haven’t done a video on that new Lego Optimus Prime
I can’t wait for the new at te and the old one looks great too
So glad I own this one
It is very good for a set of this age. I had the Gunship when I was a kid, and I still have Jedi Bob😊
So weird how something so common to me can be so valuable to others
Ryan, why have you never reviewed or talked about the "Endor bunker set from 2009"? I am just surprised as no one ever really talks about that one, It is one of my favorite sets ever, hope you review it soon 🙂
There’s a lot of sets I haven’t reviewed yet. I hope to cover everything by 2030.
@@MandRproductions you are getting there, that is the important thing lol
