  • #StayAtHome How I turned my 2016 Ducati Panigale 959 into an Xbox motorcycle simulator for the #MotoGP game. This is a 2 year journey starting from a simple foot pedal for shifting, to a full simulator that measures your body leaning using an Arduino. All inputs come from sensors on the bike or my body. There is even a kid friendly mode with a joystick for steering.

GreatScott! - I don't know GreatScott!, but his videos were really helpful for me to learn electronics. / greatscottlab
Yamaha Champions Riding School - I have no affiliation with them, but taking their course changed my riding forever. Their coaches are the nicest people and everyone who rides bikes should get the opportunity to take a course with them. **Do not blame them for my bad riding form! Trying to have proper form at real MotoGP speeds is not easy. Each day I get better at learning how to hang off the bike and time my up/down shifts with body position. Give me a few months practice ;)

Truely brilliant work on a real bike. I build motorcycle simulator controls so I know how hard it can be..........great work.

Thanks! Your setup is awesome too! You’re engineering is really awesome. Since I have a motorcycle, I do get to skip any complex engineering 😉

Hi Antony, Came across your teaser video when looking to see how possible it was to turn my 5 year old's spare minimoto into a simulator for training purposes during the winter months here in Scotland. Your link led me to this video. I am stoked. It seems very possible after watching your amazing set up. I am reaching out to you as I am not an engineer, electronic tech and don't even own an Xbox. So i am really starting from scratch both in equipment and knowledge of how to do this. Where do I start? My intention is to have the bike fixed at the wheels but have the bike lean. SO the sensors you have on your arms would be mounted on the bike for turning. There is no gears either so this makes it easier. Are you able to set me in the right direction?

I know this is a old video, And your using your actual bike, but have you considered building a "Motion Sim Rig" using something like the "Yamaha MS-1?"
Either way, how difficult do you think something like that would be? I'm in the process of trying to DIY a Motion Simulator for sim racing (cars/trucks) I've been contemplating on weather or not to try a bike some next.

I'd love to see some more technical details, particularly for the shifter and the data smoothing, is there any chance of a write up?

How did you not flood the engine with fuel while using the throttle when playing the game?

Hi, I write from Italy but unfortunately I don't understand English well. I wanted to ask you if the kit works on any type of motorcycle, and if you can tell me roughly how much each kit would cost. Thanks and congratulations

No sorry. It's a prototype system at the moment. I am working on updating my system to be more robust. It might be something other people could use. Right now it's entirely specific to bike.
