What a wonderfully nice way to spend some time and see your city. Some many good shots , but really liked the black and white at 3:34 ish. Glad you share. Thanks
Another great "Street Photo Diary", Thomas! I have seen all of these and enjoy each one. I particularly like all of the "detail" shots - doors, windows, signs, door knockers and all the other little things you find. Please keep them coming.
Thanks Terry! I am going to try and get two more episodes in before the end of the year and that will be "Season 1" - I won't end with a cliffhanger though! :-)
Just discovered your channel. You're brilliant. If I may ask, you mentioned about exposure compensation - were those sample images mostly shot on negative exposure? I love the moody, dark looks on your images. I'm still trying to understand the value of using it. Thank you and more power to you. Cheers!
Just discovered your channel Thomas, very nicely done. The gopro is really a great idea. Should I assume that there is little commercial value in this type of photography without model or property releases? It would be nice to know that you could make some money to help with equipment costs. Please keep up the great work
A comment and a question: first, I’ve owned an X Pro 1 since 2013 and I just this week traded in that plus some other gear for an X Pro 2, partly inspired by your lovely work. I looked back at my Lightroom gallery and saw that my ‘hit rate’ with that camera exceeded any other digital I’ve shot with. Thank you for your videos. Second, a question: you said in this video you were shooting with the 18-55 zoom. Was that the 2.8 - 4 OIS version?
I don’t think it’s a great lens personally. I use it because it’s all I have in that range. But it’s soft at times, especially compared to Fuji’s excellent primes, and the Bokeh isn’t very nice. In my opinion. It’s good as far as kit lenses go, but overall, it’s ok but not great.
Nice video. As you suggest, street photography must be the only genre where while others look for defused light we go for strong directional. You've certainly cashed in on it, Thomas. Do you shoot RAW or use any of the Fujifilm film simulations?

Hi David. Thanks for the kind comments. Yes. You could only really use them for artistic purposes. My goal is to produce a book at some point though
I was waiting for a shot of Leo Burdock's, you were so close to it.
Great video! Could you tell us what the song from the montage is? It's very lovely.
It's "Beauty in the mundane" from Epidemic Sound

Hi Chris - yes - it's the 18-55mm f/2.8-4
thomas fitzgerald why do you think it doesn’t get any respect?

Do you find zone focusing best?
No. I prefer to use autofocus personally.

I always shoot raw but use the provia colour profile when processing as a base in Lightroom with some additional tweaking and my own presets
Thanks for the prompt reply. I shall have to try that myself (of course, without your preset).
