They require strong light (and subsequrently co2 injection) to flower underwater. Even then, there is a bit of luck to it. Some cultures of the species are more likely to flower underwater than others. Its a genetic variation like height in humans. One trick I've wanted to test is using IR LEDS to stimulate flowering. Growers of certain illicit plants use the lights for this purpose so I'm curious if that line of thinking translates ;)
All depends on how much nutrients from fertilizing is available to help with the photosynthesis. I've had veil plants flower and go to seed in a 20 gallon with moderate lightning
This tank is by no means perfect Dean, always room for improvement and no one is ever happy with there own scape. If this is UKAPS Dean then your tank is certainly not crap.
I'd add some plants to balance the eco system within the tank even tho it's lovely as is. Maybe some amazon swords and small patches of short ground cover.
I'd love to see a South American blackwater flooded forest biome tank with Cory cats, Hoplo cats, Farlowella cats, Diamond Tetras, Lemon Tetras, Brass Tetras, Serpe Tetras, a pair of Apistogrammas, a pPair of Keyhole Cichlids, Marble Hatchet fish, Pencil fish, and Marble Headstanders. Shrimps and fresh water Mussels/Clams.
Im not too keen [blush] though I don't dislike. To me it looks a bit like a floral log. Decoration rather than natural. The sort of thing you might see in a church hall floral arrangement to mark the seasons. Even the fish look intimidated rather than engaged and part of it, like someone has yelled at them not to touch. I guess some like this sort of thing others might not, fair enough. I'm also not so keen on those large rock creations that look like picture postcards of some dramatic landscape, a bit tacky somehow. For me it's all about the fish and the habitats they like as species, or completely avant creations also appeal to me. Interestingly I do like the close ups a lot, they look far more natural and fish friendly, fill the eye, drawing you in as though you were in there rather than standing there looking at a flower/plant arrangement centre piece. At 1 36 to me looks so much nicer than at 0 28 or 1 57 rather than 0 25....... So definitely elements do do it for me, a smaller aquarium maybe lol.
Absolutely awesome tank. I like you video´s but i sometimes click them off because of the depressing music. Sorry, just my opinion. Maybe the other subs loves the music.

A Crypt by that name,but not a Buce. It's the most forward Buse,almost black leaves and full of flower buds. If I could get an I.D,i'm ordering it!

I can’t remember exactly the species, I had written them all down however lost my list with them on ☹️ I believe it is bucephelandra deep purple or lamandau purple by aquaflora. You are correct, albida is a crypt but it was me who told George and my mistake 😬
