I've been trying to find you recipes for beets since they are so good for me... Thank you so much for this one it sounds delicious going to try it tonight!
That's awesome Sylvia, happy to hear that. They are so healthy and delicious. Let me know how it turns out! P.S. I'm also posting a cold beet salad video next week which I think you will enjoy.
I liked this recipe for the shabat plata (slow warming). I diced the orange and 3 mini-lemons small, including the peel, and added them to the beets for the last 3-4 mins of cooking. then I heated the dish on the plata for about 2 hours and added the chopped fresh parsley when I served them. even my very carnivorous son liked them! thanks for sharing!!
I have lots of grapefruit right now! I'll use my grapefruit! I got what amounts to free beets the other day... looking for beet recipes! I've never made then myself... my mom used to fix them when I was a kid, and they were never terribly exciting. Thank you! And your Dutch oven looks exactly like mine! I've got the same color brown staining on the bottom! 😄
@@cambeaukitchen Just fixed this wonderful dish for dinner. I now officially LIKE beets…(I thought I hated them before. It was those darn “Harvard Beets.”
That is really cool to hear. So many people have had terrible experiences with vegetables growing up so they assume they don't taste good or like them as an adult, me included. I think if you use the right preparation, almost every vegetable can be incredibly delicious. Which veggie do you want to try next? @@OldSchool1947
@@cambeaukitchen We will be planting beets this year, thanks to YOU! We like most vegetables but here in the southern states people think turnips are great. Me, not so much. That’s a tall order making a turnip taste good!
Absolutely! I love the steaming idea! Roasting them turns out great too. I like to boil them because for me it's really fast and they are super easy to peel. You can even get wild and braise them with spices, herbs and vinegar.

VERY VERY GREAT for HEMROIDS
absolutely
Can I steam instead of simmering. Most of the nutrient is seemingly in wasted the water.

How do you steam it
@@XoXoG use a pot with boiling water then out the steamer on top and cover with the lid
To cook vegetable put them in boiling salted water.
