True! I love both their heavy stuff and this more “soft” stuff! But Matt Heafy lost his voice around this time I think..! But Matts beautiful voice is the thing that makes this band special! 🤩

Hey guys, relatively new sub here and I wanted to say, great work! Been appreciating being reintroduced to a bunch of music I'd not listened to in a while. It's also great interacting with folks who I don't see eye to eye with on everything politically and in faith (anarcho-socialist pagan here!) No matter the items I disagree with you on, you're first and foremost genuinely caring and compassionate human beings and the fair and level-headed way you go about things is refreshing.
On a musical note, she's not metal but have you guys listened to Jesca Hoop at all? One of my favourite lyricists and a protege of the venerable Tom Waits (former nanny for his kids, even!) Excellent stuff if that kind of thing is up your alley at all.
One of my favorite bands :) Try in waves, heart from your hate, strife, or into the mouth of hell. So many great songs!

If you're looking for a great representation of what Trivium is about, you should check out some songs on their album Shogun. That whole album is a Metal masterpiece. One of the best albums of the past 15 years. Kirisute Gomen is a good place to start.

You guys will love Trivium, a band that that has changed their style many times before. They originally started as a metalcore band when they were around 16-17 their first two albums Ember to Inferno and Ascendancy clearly shows the sound. With their third album "The Crusade" it changed into a thrash metal sound that was influenced on bands like Metallica and Anthrax. Their fourth Shogun is going back to their original sound but combining sounds from Crusade. Their fifth album" In Waves" is definitely more of a sound of their first two albums than thrash metal. Their sixth album" Vengeance Falls" is another game changer that has a new approach to mainstream metal with some nice riffs and solos, also Disturbed's front man David Drainman produced the album. Their seventh album "Silence in the Snow" was another changing their sound to a combination of classic metal and rock and many fans didn't like it considering it the bands' weakest album up to date. Their eight album" the sin and the sentence" is going back to that metal core sound with some thrash metal but remaining true to their original sound. Finally their ninth album" What the Dead Men say" is the same sound but better and an improvement with some songs reminding you from their first albums. Sorry for the long rant lol I love Trivium a lot. Hope you continue reacting to more of their songs.

Silence in the snow is honestly top 3 of their albums sure it doesn’t have screaming vocals but the guitar / drum work is amazing his clean vocals are Great and soothing in a way whole album is a masterpiece

nah sorry this album is one of the weaker ones, some catchy hooks for sure but very boring instrumentally, especially the drumming. Nothing necessarily bad or done incorrectly but nothing instrumentally really stands out or surprises.
I wonder what their analytics are for viewership after the songs over? I like hearing their thoughts but when they go into stuff that only they know about each other and don’t share with the video I tend to drop off

I haven't followed Trivium, but I saw them open for Dream Theater one time and there was growling and the music was a lot heavier. This sounds like a radio song, what happened or is this the "single" on the album?
This is probably THE most radio friendly single trivium has done. Their records (the better ones) are packed with heavy riffs, screams etc. epic solos. Intense drumming. All the good stuff.

I remember listening to The Crusade by Trivium a loooong time ago, I LOVED that song. I tried to get into the band but I never could, amazing musicians and the riffs / drums are always sick but the voice just doesn't do it for me.
@stardust MOCsThanks man, still love the guitars and drums, can't deal with the vocals! Maybe it's got something to do with the genre? Because same thing happens with bands like Killswitch Engage, All that Remains...that tend to be more metalcore, I love the music but once the vocals ( the clean ones! ) show up I'm completely turned off.
I'll try to dig more into their discography still, the music is really, really good.

Agreed, but if you actually listen to the album thoroughly there is some really good guitar playing in it. I especially like the song Breathe In The Flames.
